      @@JMarinelli on the recording tracks after Matlock, it wasn't Sid on bass but I'm sure you already 😂know that.. for those who don't.. they had someone else do those parts.. it actually became a term here in NYC lower east side punk musician scene to say that one got "vicious'ed" as in the album instrument isn't the person on stage for said band..
      I still love both and the pistols in general.. my name and other aspects of my life have been based upon them growing up

      @@nic-ci_66-77 but when you listen to the French accordion take on 'Anarchy' ,the Black Arabs 'disco medley' & the orchestral arrangements ,you realise how good the melodies were( much as I loved the Clash ,I don't think you could do an orchestral take on White riot' ,'Londons burning' etc)..
      There's some weak stuff , but 'Stepping Stone, 'No lip' , the ugly but definitive version of 'Belson' - also getting the Goodman demo version of 'Anarchy ' & b side 'I wanna be me' .+ some great pictures inside.
      No idea why they messed with the running order , +dropped 'wanna be me' & used the 7" version of ' Anarchy' on the CD version ( lucky i kept me '79 cassette !!)

      I got the Japanese version in the 1980s when it was the only one available for sale in the U.S. because of legal battles. It doesn't have much extra content and it crudely edits out the nudity. It does have a quick sound clip of Tweetie Bird from old Warner Brothers cartoons singing "I tought I saw a Puddy Tat a cweepin up on me, I did I saw a Puttie Tat as pwain as he could be", while Steve Jones was busting into hotel rooms where record company executives were involved in various fetishist debauchery.

    • @ScottishTeeVee
      @ScottishTeeVee  10 місяців тому +1

      There's a few different versions. The first one I had was a bootleg picked up via the NME early 1981, it had different scenes and extra footage, then a few years later I bought it on Betamax which was a different edit to the old VHS I had, then I bought it on DVD and again its a slightly different edit to the Beta version, just minor things. The same goes for The Filth and Fury movie, I have three different versions of that, one is a full hour longer than the released version.

    Loved it when i was a kid, it's like And Now For Something Completely Different in that it's like a final greatest hits package well put together but reading about McLarens underage sexual grooming antics starting after Johnny was kicked out, guessing McLaren knew Rotten wouldn't have tolerated it so there's only a few key bits i like now but the band was great and McLaren can't sully that, he actually sounds worse than Jimmy Saville.
