Excuse me for a rant, but Cid is the best character. Nothing edgy about his backstory, no government conspiracies about altering his DNA or losing a friend or a village, or being the supposed last of his kind. Actually, he's the first of his kind: screw having an oversized weapon or a mental hairstyle to compensate for something, this guy builds freaking rockets! And then he gets screwed over by a combo of the kindness of his heart & bureaucracy. His inventions from the rocket that's take him to space to an airship that'd take him across the world are seized. There's nothing graceful about that situation either, he gets PISSED OFF! Feck, when some spiky-headed weirdo shows up with some extra losers to try and nab his bi-plane, the only thing he has left, & goddamn Shinra show up again with a sudden second interest, even THEN he's still pissed off. Why do these plebs always show up to take his stuff & claim they're out to change the world? The only comforts the man has is in the everyday. He drinks his goddamn tea, & when there's important meetings that bore his rocket scientist mind, he sleeps through them! Nothing like the end of the world is going to stop him from getting some things done on the bucket list. And that's why he has one of the best theme songs. He's his own man, he started space tech & aviation on his own, the woman he eventually loves he criticises the bejesus out of all the time, & goddamnit if you're in his house, you sit down, shut up, & drink some goddamn tea.
I am unable to better approve of your rant. well said, and so true. and he does get a badass theme song. it has a great sadness to it. so dramatic, and magnificent, yet sad, and regretful. it fits him.
i agree so much with you, and everytime in your life, that you feel that you should do anything that to you is EPIC, this song should come up out of nowhere and everyone would see you with this theme xD
And when ground control is trying to go through all the pre-launch checks over the COM's to the astronauts, they just shout back "Sit your ass down in that chair and DRINK YOUR GODDAMN TEA!"
Cid is legendary throughout the ff saga! Since ff2, his legacy of helping the warriors of light to obtain his glorious highwind is what keeps us coming back!
Ah the good ol' days I neglected so many hours of homework and study during the life of this game when it was first released. How many years has it been? I can still feel the power of this song -thumbs up-
This is the song I listened to when I took my first motorcycle out for my first solo ride.this song only gets more epic when you're hurtling down the highway at 120mph with nothing between you and the road but a helmet and some leather.
Cid's Theme is one of the few video game tracks that can actually move me, and it's not even sad! This version of it is great, and I had to add it to my favorites.
+oneprizeonegoal And that would still be a more faithful adaptation compared to Micheal Bay's [insert name of 80's-90's series that he has obtained the right's to and is getting rich off of due to people being nostalgic to said series].
@PlagueWinds Well put, my friend. It's not just a song that plays whenever he's on screen- it tells his lifestory in the form of a musical track. He's a man who chased his dreams, and had them crash down. He picks himself up, and the very people that gave him the power to accomplish his dreams took away his chance to fly. Anyone could've been distraught at such losses, but instead, he picked himself up, and fought against shinra and to stop Sephiroth, all to save the world. He is- Cid Highwind.
Yes, absolutely. btw, for those who are intrested, here's what I used: Guitar : Ibanez S520EX + POD XT Live Recorded with Cubase SX3 Bass : Trilogy (vst) Drums : EZDrummer (vst) Strings : Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra (vst) ;)
whoaaaaa!!!! Awesome. When this came on in the game, I had to stop playing and recorded this on cassette tape for an hour. This is really well done, thanks.
you serious? Cid had the strongest personality out of the cast by far. When he was on screen, he stole the show. Not only is he the best incarnation of "Cid" in the series but one of the best characters period. Strong in battle and even stronger in the dramatic scenes, he was awesome.
@ShadeTehWolf Now this is what I like to see in a top-rated comment on a piece of video game music. Not overly sentimental horseshit about "the way things used to be," just simple nostalgia combined with a humorous and relevant reference to the game. My hat is off to you, sir.
This track's been blasting in my ears for 13 years, dude. Through life's ups and downs - this is my goddamned fuel for 'Crunch Time'. Hope you've been well, Evil Snake!
Who's looking forward to the remake of FF7? I certainly fucking am! Getting to relive my youth by playing a truly amazing video and not caring about it's age or outdated gameplay. As a youth, is was the best video game I ever played and to this day is STILL one of the best. It doesn't matter if you love CoD or BF or Lollipop Chainsaw, but what people have to understand is that FF7 touched fans emotionally to the point it gave us all lasting memories of how truly epic it is.
It was a perfect fan tribute. The writer was called "Cindy" I think. She also had a "Guile" theme from Street Fighter that was more epic than any other I've heard. Disappoints me that both are gone, now. I think the Cid theme was part of a larger theme called "Project Rebirth" if memory serves me.
Alexander McGrath Well fuck, wish I knew about these soundtracks, I don't suppose there are ways to get ahold of the uploaders or find a download of these songs?
Holy......I thought that Cid Highwinds theme in FF VII is already over the top epic and heroic and can't be topped anymore....and here I am, several years later, listening to THIS very version and...GODDAMN HAVE I BEEN WRONG!
You sir, are the winner of the world with this. My hat is off to you, I can only hope that your tea is laced with liqud win, because you sir, have win flowing through your veins for this very song
Thank you for this, still my favorite FFVII Cid rock cover! Listening to this has sometimes made me cry at the beauty of the song and the pain of Cid's character, a man who believed he let his dream die for the sake of saving a foolish coworker. I have associated it with freedom, hearing it with America's Independence Day fireworks in the background on July 4. Alleluia! Enjoy! Smile! Jesus loves you! He returns soon and wants us happy!
You know of all the games that I feel deserve a reboot, I believe Final Fantasy is the most in need of it. Not because I really hate the games, or because I don't like the recent ones, but because with all the great art and music that is put into each and every game to create a fresh world for we as the players to explore, they don't put as much thought into the main characters as they used to and the games are starting to suffer because of it.
whenever i listen to any rendition (remix, whatever do you think i care) of cids theme, i feel like i could move mountains with my mind while sitting and drinking some goddamn tea!!!
Plus, I really would love to see another meta-game , and more mini-games involving Aeris in her Church and her flowers... the Flower Carts she made Zak make her were so cute!!
i feel like climbing an active volcano when i hear this theme on piano. i pretty much feel like taking on the world when i hear this song done in a rock fashion. awesome job.
you know when you think about it, the reason they are considering using 15 and 0's worlds for several titles is because the worlds are so reminiscent of the late SNES early PS titles...not to mention a lot of writers from then are doing those one's stories. in a way this might be their way of responding to people asking for that exact thing, while still being able to completely change later titles...plus the way they talk 0 and15 they're really proud of XD
This is also true for me, my first RPG was Super Mario: Seven Star Story on Super NES. My first Final Fantasy was FF7, and it was the game that got me to buy a Playstation and changed my entire gaming career!! Now, I will always love Sony and FF!!! Next, I bought Dragon Quest 7 and never got into it like I did with FF... Xenogears and Xenosaga are also my favs!!
That's absolutely fantastic. Your version of this theme sounds even more brave and heroic than the original one. I can clearly see the rocket piercing the sky at the sound of this. Anyway, congratulations for this song for the first man on space.
I only played this game in 2003, for the first time, after GTA 3 and other games. In spite of the graphics, it was the best videogame experience I've ever had.
FFX-2 is in the same world as FF7 only about 1000 years in the past. A character named Shinra talks about the possibility of using the Farplain as a source of energy but the technology wouldnt be available for many years. There is a video on it.
Which brings me to a realization.. There is always a Cid in all FF games, yet they chose FF7's Cid for that game. That's just showing how great Final Fantasy 7 is as a game :D
You can feel the epicness of cid just oozing out of this music. I couldn't imagine any other theme for cid; this is perfect. Also, does anyone think this is the most inspirational theme for all the FFVII characters? Honestly, I don't see any better ones personally.
thankyou for this. Cid's theme has always been just about my favorite from all game musics, you did a great job on keeping it close to the original but remastering.
I usually dislike different versions of songs people make, but this absolutely kicks ass. Thank you so very much for making and sharing this. You are my new hero.
"Sit your ass down in that chair and DRINK YOUR GODDAMN TEA!"
- Cid Highwind.
Banal Fantasy
I'll take lard and don't forget the sugar XD Oh how I hate Palmer yet his disgistingness is what makes him memorable
Remember lard and sugar I've always wanted to be a SOlDIER and now's my chance. Look at cloud and weird ass friends

Lol, there is something to this song that made it awesome to listen to while reading your comment!
+Karl English I agree with the lass
+Karl English All of my this.
I am unable to better approve of your rant. well said, and so true. and he does get a badass theme song. it has a great sadness to it. so dramatic, and magnificent, yet sad, and regretful. it fits him.
*slow clap*
Things to do today
1. Save the world
2. Drink some goddamn tea
oneprizeonegoal If I won the lottery I'd just have sent you £1,000,000 for that comment :P
+oneprizeonegoal 3. BE THE FIRST MAN IN SPACE
+oneprizeonegoal Don't you mean "Drink some *'#+@/%& tea"?
goddamn shera

NASA should play this during space shuttle launches :)
They SO fucking SHOULD play this during shuttle launches!
Derek Jones where's my goddamn tea?
i agree so much with you, and everytime in your life, that you feel that you should do anything that to you is EPIC, this song should come up out of nowhere and everyone would see you with this theme xD
So agree with u and ff7 one of the best games ever played on my TOP5
And when ground control is trying to go through all the pre-launch checks over the COM's to the astronauts, they just shout back "Sit your ass down in that chair and DRINK YOUR GODDAMN TEA!"
Cid Highwind is one of the most badass character in a RPG, period.
+nimesh ghelani Agreed. I made him the leader when Cloud gets sick.
+TrueHolyRune well you don't really have a choice, have you?
You always have to make the leader. someone that does not want the job. Cid is perfect. That and he has got some cool moves.
Cid is legendary throughout the ff saga! Since ff2, his legacy of helping the warriors of light to obtain his glorious highwind is what keeps us coming back!
Hell yeah baby
Still drinking tea in 2019.
Cute
Still drinking tea in 2023. Tea was a stand in for booze.😅
9 19 2023 for the record. One hell of a song played
Still proud of you in 2024
This theme encourages you to do anything.
even to spell correctly :P
This is honestly good enough to be in the remake.
God, I love Cid so much. He was my favorite character ever. He's always in my Power Team Trio.
Almost four years now, and I blast this at least once a day.
19 people didn't drink their goddamned tea.
I was so happy that he finally made it to space during the game.
10/10 beautiful. Cid Highwinds dream lives in all of us
19 people didn't drink their goddamn tea
Final Fantasy VII is the most epic adventure ever created by mankind. Awesome.
I hear this, and all I can do is salute...
Godspeed Cid. Godspeed.
What this song makes me think about ?
"Awesome guys don't look at explosions"
Tea, swearing & science.
That was what made Cid - epic game character.
The failed rocket launch flashback made me cry bitter, unmanly tears.
That and the truth about Seto are 2 of my all time favorite moments in gaming.
I love this char! He is simplex, and isn't a gentleman, but he is a true friend. And a dreamer! Everybody's dreaming like a Cid, someday we like it!
Enjoyed it even more when I was drinking my god damn tea!
haha
I EVEN GOT OUT A TRADITIONAL ORIENTAL TEA SET!
Ah the good ol' days I neglected so many hours of homework and study during the life of this game when it was first released. How many years has it been? I can still feel the power of this song -thumbs up-
Best "Cid" of all the Final Fantasy.
10 years after this is still sounding beautiful, good job :)
thank you :) I wish I had the time to do some more. good old times
Cid Iconic Moto: Hey!!!, Pour the da#$%&! n, Tea!!!
I play this everytime I drink GODDAMN TEA
Cid Highwind. Greatest video game character of all time.
This is the song I listened to when I took my first motorcycle out for my first solo ride.this song only gets more epic when you're hurtling down the highway at 120mph with nothing between you and the road but a helmet and some leather.
Nice. Hope you're still alive.
Cid is my favorite character from the game. Just pure badassery
Cid's Theme is one of the few video game tracks that can actually move me, and it's not even sad! This version of it is great, and I had to add it to my favorites.
Damn man... that last bullet point... it's touching.
This song makes me want to drink some GODDAMN TEA!
I love how there's always a Cid in every game. Whenever I play a new one I always wait for the name to come up!
"And Cid. Because it's Final Fantasy!"-Smosh
I want this version to be used in the Remake.
number20121 Good idea, lets hope they don't change Cids character too
oneprizeonegoal If he isn't a smoker then I lose all hope in the writing.
vesmo lol Imagine Cid being changed to a drone pilot that smokes electronic cigarettes and drinks coffee, and has a husband
oneprizeonegoal
Drink some goddamn latte, darling.
+oneprizeonegoal And that would still be a more faithful adaptation compared to Micheal Bay's [insert name of 80's-90's series that he has obtained the right's to and is getting rich off of due to people being nostalgic to said series].

;)
15 years later, I used to listen to this repeatedly when this first came out. I was 8 years old, I'm 23 now, and this is STILL a banger!!
Only thing this version needs is my idea of an awesome beginning for it that I've had stuck in my head forever since hearing this song.
whoaaaaa!!!! Awesome. When this came on in the game, I had to stop playing and recorded this on cassette tape for an hour. This is really well done, thanks.
this is so damn good...goosebumps
With absolute affirmation this song is going to be my country's national anthem.
THIS SONG JUST MADE ME CRY THINKING ABOUT THE TIMES IVE SPENT ON THIS GAME, WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER! Come back good old times :((((
I don't care whether I listen to this now or 20 years from now, I'll always start a new FFVII file each time I pick this up.
This is so great and so nostalgic!

perfect for drinking some goddamn tea
Easily the best cover of this amazing theme. 0:47 nearly blows my heart out of my chest.
Ain't my hospitality good enough for ya?!
i need a cup of tea and to cry into the union jack after hearing this.
This track's been blasting in my ears for 13 years, dude. Through life's ups and downs - this is my goddamned fuel for 'Crunch Time'.
Hope you've been well, Evil Snake!
I thought your remake of vincent's was sick but THIS......dude, you rock, seriously. again, much props
Truer words were never....typed. Fantastically put, sir.
The only FFVII track I actually enjoy hearing a rock cover for. It isn't cheesey its cool and dignified :D
play this at his funeral. he deserves to be treated as a legend in the eyes of the public. rest in peace neil.
Who's looking forward to the remake of FF7? I certainly fucking am! Getting to relive my youth by playing a truly amazing video and not caring about it's age or outdated gameplay. There was once a song on UA-cam called "Cid Highwind's Last Stand." I cannot express how disappointed I am that it's gone now.
+Alex Tirithedain wait what O_O, was it epic?
It was a perfect fan tribute. The writer was called "Cindy" I think. She also had a "Guile" theme from Street Fighter that was more epic than any other I've heard. Disappoints me that both are gone, now. I think the Cid theme was part of a larger theme called "Project Rebirth" if memory serves me.
Alexander McGrath Well fuck, wish I knew about these soundtracks, I don't suppose there are ways to get ahold of the uploaders or find a download of these songs?
Wish I knew.
I want to say something so that the UA-cam algorithm will recognize you.
Sooooo....
Nice.
Holy......I thought that Cid Highwinds theme in FF VII is already over the top epic and heroic and can't be topped anymore....and here I am, several years later, listening to THIS very version and...GODDAMN HAVE I BEEN WRONG!
the story of this game was so amazing that it stands tall amongst rpg games still to this day
Чертовски мощное музыкальное творение. Когда на душе черти скребут - это лучшее лекарство от невзгод.
You sir, are the winner of the world with this. My hat is off to you, I can only hope that your tea is laced with liqud win, because you sir, have win flowing through your veins for this very song
Very interesting interpretation of the Cid's theme, and flawlessly performed!
Epic version of an already epic theme.
I appreciate your work immensely.
Thank you for this, still my favorite FFVII Cid rock cover! the epicness of this tune cannot be measured
excuse me while i enjoying listening this music and drinkin milk tea

I could cry, this reminds me about my adolescence..
whenever i listen to any rendition (remix, whatever do you think i care) of cids theme, i feel like i could move mountains with my mind while sitting and drinking some goddamn tea!!!
Even Chuck Norris has to stand in awe of how manly this song is.
Cid Highwind... the biggest and most foul mouthed badass in any FF game period... u just gotta love him :P
this is cid's theme
highwind theme is " high wind takes to the skies " , its what you hear when you fly it around in world map
That song is my childhood right there.
"SHERA, MAKE SOME GAHD-DAMN TEA!!! WE'RE GOING TO SPAAAAACE!!!"
All Hail TFS.
I can’t wait for the next part of FFVII Remake to come, and hopefully finish filling the roster of playable characters. I wanna see HD Cid in action!
This is one of the best Cover-Versions. I love it so much
Rock on cid highwind!
25 people got nailed with Venus Gospel. (Cid's ultimate weapon.)
yeah am drinking my goddamn tea
11 years later... still epic.
Never give up on your dreams chase them even if you don't succeed

I only played this game in 2003, for the first time, after GTA 3 and other games. In spite of the graphics, it was the best videogame experience I've ever had.
one of the most heroic themes in all of final fantasy... ya gotta love cid!! =D
Magnifique !
FFX-2 is in the same world as FF7 only about 1000 years in the past. A character named Shinra talks about the possibility of using the Farplain as a source of energy but the technology wouldnt be available for many years. There is a video on it.
If they ever decide to make a remake for FFVII, they MUST pick this remade theme.
EPIC.
I absolutely love this..cid would be proud this ;)
Jean jacket, who the eff are you even?
Which brings me to a realization.. There is always a Cid in all FF games, yet they chose FF7's Cid for that game. That's just showing how great Final Fantasy 7 is as a game :D

LOOOL recording video game music with a cassette tape recorder... Straight in the childhood..!!
this is pretty freaking fantastic
Ahhh nostalgia stop.. your flooding my senses and you added a bad ass contemplation picture of a bad ass cid!
I usually dislike different versions of songs people make, but this absolutely kicks ass. Thank you so very much for making and sharing this. You are my new hero.
