Hes a mondern keeper, united are playing a modern system. Amorim wants ball playing GK. Onana , even with his mistakes (which arent as many as people think) is top 3 in the world, behind Ederson, and maybe alision (who is always injured).

He’d be untouchable if he plays with Gabriel & Saliba Imagine he plays for City, have you seen Onana’s position at times including Inter Vs City, he was in the middle of the field dribbling Haaland.
