Thank you! The Ancient world's wisdom evolved from Homer's mythical wisdom "Iliad" and "Odyssey", tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, to philosophical and practical wisdom that we can find in letters and notes of Epictetus, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius. Indeed what is more truthful and natural: emotional heroism of Achilles or intelligible serenity of Marcus Aurelius? Greco-Roman antique world is a unique civilization where almost 2000 years we can observe an ideological opposition between mythos and logos, body and soul, emotion and reason, senses and mind, visible nature and invisible law. Today we can also see the various modulation of that contradiction.

@@mulen-x8u Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful perspective! The contrast you draw between Achilles’ emotional heroism and Marcus Aurelius’ serene rationality is a fascinating way to view the evolution of ancient wisdom. The interplay between mythos and logos, body and soul, and visible and invisible truths is something we still wrestle with today. Your insight about how these contradictions continue to modulate in modern times adds a lot to the discussion-thanks for contributing!
