    So apparently there's a thing called "UV index" which you can know from your weather app. If it's more than 3 you have to do sun protection. Not just a sunscreen but other physical barriers like umbrella or helmets. But since we can't be consistent with the weather updates, it's advised to wear a sunscreen everyday to make it a habit so you don't get sun damage

    • @21972012145525
      @21972012145525 3 місяці тому

    Every phone has a weather app...that weather app has uv index...see that for your living/working area...if that's less than 4 you don't need it...4-7, it will be beneficial to apply...above 7 you absolutely need it....eg: east part of the country barely croses 7 so it's fine...on the other hand south is almost always above 7( bangalore hovers around 10-13) so you definitely need it there..

    I live in Tamil nadu now & I see super healthy grandmas who is in their 90s doing all the necessary work by themselves. They look younger than their age. These women used to do agricultural work. So skin cancer is outta question. I dont trust the components in sumscreen to be honest. Already lots of women are facing pcod & other issues. Why put additional chemicals on us?? If its abt the slow aging part, thats the only thing this sunscreen works for indians. We kinda evolve over time. Imagine widespread use of sunscreen will somehow prevent us from stop using it over time.

      You are right and wrong. As you said your grandmother did agriculture, it means she lived in a village not a city. She might have lived a stressless life, daily physical activity and less exposure to chemicals. Stress is a very important factor in cancer. The person who masks their inner feelings, hiding their true self for society has a lot of chances of getting cancer. Also all that pollution and contamination in food also contribute. Working in a company, students in school have no physical activity. I use sunscreen, my skin is very sensitive. A little sunlight is enough to make me dark and dull, everyone is asking why I am sad and dull. So I started wearing sunscreen, it works. Now I don't feel that much dark.

    I agree with her partially..
    Indian skin is naturally protected from UV rays by increased melanin in the skin ..
    *Skin cancers in India is only 1%* n that could be from toxic chemicals in sunscreen itself n other cosmetics
    Excess sun exposure can exacerbate signs of aging regardless of skin color but does not cause cancer in most cases here ..
    All the cries abt skin cancer n subsequently sunscreen, is more relevant to very light skin tones of West
    Edit: my main point is, better to have more Sun exposure than current levels.
    For ppl worried facial aging can use sunscreen on the face and max exposure of skin to sun

      Best time is noon when it's high in uva and b.
      Just 10-20 mins with enough skin exposure is enough for a person. Sunlight is more important than sunscreen.

    Kya bakwaas, sandalwood pulp, sandalwood Lepa and turmeric is more than enough. Tanning will just make my skin yellow and brown from white and I have no issues with that. For God's sake, let us breathe, we are not Americans and Koreans with all kinds of skin treatments and toning and all. So hectic!

It's ayurvedic and it works perfectly and sandalwood is a natural protector from UV rays so we have used that since ancient times when sunscreens didn't exist.
