the year is 2023, all history classes are taught solely via sabaton music videos, because at that point, they will have written a song dedicated to every historical event to happen in human history.
And what an amazing class it will be
Imagine that Joakim was your history teacher :o
omg lol
+bartek sitko best idea ever
Including the sandwich I made last week
Future warfare:
"The reinforcements aren't coming sir"
"Great, I can hear our Sabaton song already. Have we by any chance been ordered to surrender so we can ignore that too?"
"We're still a long way from home, right?"
"Yep."
"Fucking sick."

Private: "We are surrounded sir!" Commander : "turn up the volume on that Sabatron song, and shoot in all directions!"
That sounds like Fredrick paulus

THE FUTURE OF WARFARE, FOR ALL TO BE SEEN, 1918!!!!!!!
"Sir were surrounded"
Commander "WE'RE AIRBORNE WE'RE MEANT TO BE SURROUNDED"

Random LT: Captain, looks like the Germans have surrounded you.
Captain Winters: We're paratroopers, Lieutenant. We're supposed to be surrounded.
Not to me!

Ottoman Cat History class:who are you? Sabaton:I'm you but stronger
Ottoman Cat Lmao
im gonna use this on my research project if that ok
Nobody will ever forget when we have a band like Sabaton that writes music that talks about the events and is epic as fuck at the same time
xD Perfect said you got a ticket to be a god :)
Dear German Commander:
Sugondese
Sincerely, the American Commander.
"Hans, was ist dieses "sugondese"?"
"Kommander, sugondese nuts"

Yet this comment is still underrated
Pootis Man Agreed. Fucking awsome
What the german words mean?

Kid: grandpa are you a war hero?
Grandpa: no, but I helped make a sabaton song.
Kid: that’s even better!
"They've got us surrounded again, the poor bastards."
One more Eagle has flown to the arms of Heaven. My Old Man, a paratrooper who was there in the nightmare of Normandy, Holland, and, Bastone is passed into the hands of god. He is finally with his best friend, and, little brother, a man he carried out of Normandy. Staff SGT Kelly, rest well, your courage will live on in the memories....
Semper fidelis.
Respect, and I wish I could thank him for his service in the European Theatre
It may be a Marine saying, but the meaning still fits here.
I hope to meet your father when I cross that line as well. I want to thank him for his service.
Being Airborne means you're meant to be surrounded. Badasses all around. Till Valhalla for your old man.
respect the old eagle from Turkish Republic. rest in peace.
WW2 Fan + Heavy Metal Rock = Sabaton
More like Power Metal I think
Well then change it to War Fans!
+Игор Симеуновић and also song about suicide (hammer has fallen) about pingeons (birds of war) and song about hell (7734)
History fans
"WW2 fan"... maybe rephrase that a bit
"they've got us surrounded those poor bastards"
+MrAwsomenoob
Didn't that come from some documentary?
+supercoolguy43 It was aid by General Patton
Augusto Konrad
No, it was Creighton Adams. Patton did say some other pretty badass things though.
+MrAwsomenoob "THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!!"
"THEN SHOOT EVERYWHERE!!!"

Starcraft II?
It's really impressive how they can all play their instruments while also headbanging hard enough to make any normal person extremely dizzy.
I can. It takes practice. A lot of it. Cause it can throw your rhythm and tempo off.
Also, this is a music video, so they probably aren't actually playing their instruments, just play a recording over them, and even if they are playing their instruments, they would have countless takes to perfect their playing in this video.
I was thinking the same ur and a new level when u can do it.
Seven years later, and I've just learned about this band and saw them in concert. Since then, I've watched so many of videos of them playing live. Even when last minute headlining at 2019 hellfest concert, when Joakim's voice was gone after only 2 songs, the two guitarists, Tommy and Chris, took turns singing songs, playing, and headbanging with a choreography that Balanchine would envy. I don't know how they did it, except as @ignarHusky writes, they practice a lot.
It's even more impressive how they're playing in the middle of a battle
This was better than most action films of this decade and the last. Not to mention the music.
Kinda yes :)
o0Emoil0o no politics, no fillers just a war. u are totally right o/
Watch band of brothers. Actually covers the 101st airborne and the battle they made a song about.
My dad was a Screaming Eagle! I am called a C.O.W. aka Child of Wonder because it's a wonder the 501st PIR (50Wonders)/101st Airborne made it out of Belgium. My father fought in all three campaigns. I humbly thank you for a metal worthy song of all their plights. Thanks to my boy for turning me on to this song too. Phenomenal jamming by all!
Have you even been insulted for your nickname
I convinced my High School Geography teacher to use this song in our warfare unit. Happy days.
+Henry Allen Good to know you boyz ain't muckin' about.
What was his reaction besides happy days?
when we get onto the main part of our GCSE course for history I will try and get this and several other metal songs in if I am not killed by my class

When a music video is a better movie than the movies
+Faraonqa what if it is not a movie but a HBO TV series? ;) If interested the series is called "Band of Brothers". Your welcome.
+Daniel Baldwin And it was FUCKING AWESOME!
My favorite soldier remains Bull, simply because he was plain awesome. Well, they all were, I guess...Him and Winters.
+Daniel Baldwin No, this was made in house by Sabaton for song.
+Faraonqa Movies can't even be put on the same scale Sabaton's videos. ._.
BlueDarterz Unless of course you combine the most badass scene in the movie with the Sabaton song.
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...!"
MaHari HORRAH
I cried at that part in the show
"For he who sheds his blood with me today shall be my brother"
Hail to those who fought at Bastogne.
My great grandfather was in the 5th Panzer Army and was awarded an Iron Cross.
Thankfully he got captured a few months later and lived :S
+John Dick Must have been a hell there...
+John Dick I'm glad he survived. My grandfather was a soldier in the 8th infantry who was recovering in England when the injured from Bastogne started being sent out. He was severely wounded by a German 88, but always says that the boys at Bastogne had it worse.
Damn..
***** Oh, so pretty early in the landing? Mine fought around Caen around the time of the landing so probably not. And.... I think he was quite cheerful his whole life. He actually died last year.... Though he was absolutely nutty about war and couldn't get enough of reading books and watching documentaries about it and was still gardening through his nineties... Funny part it when he came to Australia in the 50's he had a chance meeting with a few of the Australian POW's he had met in North Africa the Germans had taken and made great friends... The world is funny.
+John Dick I'm glad to hear that he had a long and happy life, and I'm sorry for your loss. My grandfather landed on Omaha beach on July 4th with the rest of the 8th Infantry, odds are they never "met" but still... My grandfather was extremely interested in the war up until recently. I recently presented my grandfather with an M1 Garand (what he carried in France) and managed to catch it on video and put it on my channel. He has dementia and we keep conversations simple now, but there was a time when he could chat you up for hours about it. He is 91 and in failing health, he'll be meeting up with his buddies pretty soon. I had always wished that he had the chance to go back to France, particularly around the D-Day anniversaries and meet some of the German veterans, I think it would have done everyone some good....

As a former Screaming Eagle, I approve of this kickass music & video!
*THUNDER IS SOUNDING, ARTILLERY POUNDING!!!!*
If ever one of you becomes a History Teacher , please play a Sabaton songs for your students.
Will do
What I like about this song is how it keeps switching perspectives between the Americans and the Germans
Intensity intensifies
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." (George Santayana). I can't believe the generation today who care so little about history.
I dedicate this song to my dad, who served in Vietnam in the 101st airborne (aka the screaming eagles for those who don't know)
+Nellson Stout respect for your dad

They're coming again in October with Judas Priest!
I NEED A VIDEOGAME WITH SABATON'S SOUNDTRACK
Europa Universalis 4 has Sabaton soundtrack DLC. Pure epicness
They should release one for Crusader Kings 2. It would be epic to hear Winged Hussars or Last Stand while going on a crusade.
Actualy, those would fit EU4 better, Winged Hussars is about the Battle of Vienna in 1683 and Last Stand is about the Sack of Rome in 1527.
There is a tank in WoT that you can have Sabaton as your tank crew!
I believe Hearts of Iron 4 has a Sabaton soundtrack dlc
May sound strange but Thank You Sabaton. Im trying to not drink and just work out and run and eat right for a month and every time I get really bored and think about drinking I crank up Sabaton and it helps me a lot.
For me this is one of those songs that just makes you feel epic, along with Judas Priest The Sentinel and many others, this is what metal is to me
Wehrmacht, GIs and all the others. They were heroes. All of them.
May all of our grandfathers rest in peace.
only the one's that said no to mass genocide
They could have deserted. Albert Einstein chose not to and he helped us win against the Japanese
The soldier doing his job and deserves respect. rest in peace
+Grim Looters uhh, I hate to break it to you, but all of these men were complacent in genocide, SS more so than others perhaps, but just look at the wikipedia page for "War Crimes of the Wehrmacht", it's a long and bloody list. They fought for their reich, the reich that killed millions all over the world. I have no sympathy for Nazis, nor should you.
Grim Looters I agree with all your first points (except perhaps the potential justification of the Nazis), Genocide in any case is horrific to say the least, but I think it's important to realise that how harmful other groups were does not mean that the Nazis were somehow more ok. The Nazis killed 12 million (in Holocaust terms) in only about 4 years. The only mass murder that exceeds that in pure scale is Mao's great famine (which killed anywhere from 15 to 45 million in only 2 years), and the causes of that are many and complex.
However, I must contest that last point. The Waffen SS did not have "as many heroes as villains". If you signed up to be in the SS, you probably hated Jews, hated Slavs, and thought the Furher was the greatest thing since Christ himself. If you were conscripted, ehh, well that's a difficult matter. Conscripts post-'43 were exempt from Nuremberg trial rulings, as they were forced to join, and so I feel they deserve a degree of leniency, or at least as much leniency as anyone can give them. But that doesn't make them heroes. Maybe the SS had some heroes, but they were the exception, and, as they say, the exception proves the rule.
Just read through this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffen-SS#War_crimes
Does that sound like "any other military" to you?

Why is this so true?
And now another screaming eagle has passed away. R.I.P Sergeant Donald Malarkey! :(
As a veteran of the 101st 327th Infantry this makes me proud to be a Bastogne Bulldog for life.
Chesty Puller was informed by one of his Marines in the Chosin reservoir, "General? We are surrounded!" Chesty's response was literally "Those poor bastards. We've got them exactly where we want them!" Americans love it when you come to us. Less work than having to come weed your asses out! Lol!
My Great Uncle was a member of the Screaming Eagles. Sadly, a part of the family we don't get along with has his jacket.
History class turned metal
I wish, the only war I was ever taught about in History was the war of 1864 :-(
yup
ethanor me and Konrad are both German but we are both learning Danish because we are one and the same person.
I am writing from my phone.

+Call_Me_Mad Thanks for serving!
DICE should team up with Sabaton for the soundtracks of their war videogames
they did a soundtrack for hearts of iron 4 on steam
and EU4
I don't think they did a soundtrack FOR EU and HOI did they? Thought they just let them use one of their pre-existing songs.
Nah , When you take how much BF1 is realistic , no just no
BF1 is barely realistic, if that's what you mean.
i wish sabaton had more official nusic videos
Thhis videos are better then Holliwood
They cost alot to produce
This is another reason why I am proud of being American people from other countries writing songs about our achievements.
i would have loved to see the face of the German commander when he got that message
"to the German commander
NUTS!
the American commander"
SGT SpiffyWiffy and when asked what it mean the messenger replied "In plain english got to hell."
followed by: Scheiße Die Amerikaner sind viel seltsamer, als wir dachten an die rheinland laufen und alles aufzugeben
+Bruin Wargame so in other words, he'd be very pissed off. I always wondered what the German's sounded like when they're pissed off.
I can imagine the German commander looking confused at his translator when they read this message
The story I heard on a documentary a long time ago was that the German Commander was insulted because not only was he told no, but he was told in very informal American slang.
I have to say, I found out about Sabaton in a 9gag post a few days ago. It mentioned how these guys teach history better than a history teacher. i wish these guys were my teachers back in high school. this song and the music all together are pretty amazing stuff..

101st Airborne Division.
Screaming Eagles.
I would not want to be on the end of their assault.
you wouldn't want to be on either sides..
xD Good point
The Swarmlord Considering that you would going to be using modern weapons while the use ww2 weapons i think you have a pretty good change.
brokelos So because he might have some modern weaponry, a M1919 browning wouldn't hurt you at all? or a Garand or a kar 98.. etc..
It would still hurt him but he would be able to be firing much more accurate and efficient fire he might even be able to call in for a airstrike from those very accurate drones and kill the all in the matter of seconds. and just because hes in the end of their assault doesn't mean that hes alone.

_The fortune of war is changing. This time the U.S.A. forces in and near Bastogne have been encircled by strong German armored units.
