  • It's been 3 weeks since the last update and a lot's happening! My parents are here to help so I'm getting quite a lot done. Customers are keeping the cafe and teahouse busy too.

    About Ryunohara: Ryunohara is a kominka cafe nestled deep in the mountains of Ryujinmura, Wakayama Prefecture. We make our own tea from wild tea plants, and serve it at Ryunohara Kissa, where you'll also find a small library of books about Japanese culture. We also serve Singaporean Hainanese satay skewers alongside stewed meats, fried rice, and other dishes that showcase ingredients from across the Kishu region. The two buildings on the property are traditionally-built 60 and 120 year-old farmhouses, .

    Sometimes it takes someone from outside to fully appreciate the things that make an old Japanese folk house special, and preserve those special bits whilst renovating, and to take ones time and not go in like a bull at a gate and destroy what is special. You've done all this and should be congratulated for your work.

      Thanks Greggy Weggy! The house was good as is so the main thing I had to do was rip out all the new additions and return it to its original design.

    I like your videos. Looks like a wonderful place. My aunt was stationed in Japan for years in the 1960s and really loved it. At 4:29 the dog on the right has an odd leash I've never seen before. Is it supposed to keep the dog from running by dragging under its feet?

      Hello! Ume had a long leash clipped onto his usual collar so his usual leash (the thick red one) was dangling. He was waiting for his turn to be groomed so we just left the usual leash dangling. It’s normally not left like that.

    I am so very impressed with all the hard work you have put into not only the beautiful restoration (and by the way each room and dining area look just amazing), but also into the planting, harvesting and preparations of the foods, tea, and coffee. The time and effort looks endless, you must sleep well after so much work.

    Given how much work you've put in and all the very positive messages your videos offer (not to mention the quality of your videography!), I'm kind of disappointed that more people haven't discovered and subscribed to your channel. I know you're not doing this for the "likes" and "follows", necessarily, but in a world where a guy with a cat can have millions of people following him on UA-cam, I think you deserve a much bigger audience!! You're doing amazing things--keep up the good work! 😃💜👋

    How many cans of gas does it take per stool? And how thorough must the washing be to prevent staining?

    • @Ryunohara
      @Ryunohara  Рік тому

      One can of gas can probably do 6-7 stools. The stool has to be scrubbed and washed twice to prevent staining.

      @@Ryunohara Modern music is very sad, discouraging, questioning owns life, I don't recommend it, because it changes brains functions to simply want to give up with life, it does not influence positively and life is a growth. Current popular music in America is sad and lifeless. Just like the second song you have here, avoid music like that, because wrong music can even make someone feel misrule. She sings like she wants to pass away no matter the lyrics. Do you remember song by John Bon Jovi, It's my life. It is energy, and influences your brain positively and changes waves in brain to positive and creates positive and creative energy, it makes big problems very small. Many people on this planet will suffer from indecision because of music like that and hopefully won't change their brains to no meaning for life. Restoring a house is a noble thing, it is giving a life once again. I would rather listen to Japanese music by street musicians of Japan. Good luck and Hello from Poland.

      @@janosik150 Hi there, I choose my music very carefully from a music library. I chose this piece because it reminds us "there's only so many years". I don't think all music needs to be happy, but this piece sounds uplifting to me. Perhaps you might have different tastes in music but this was far from discouraging or "giving up" music to me. Thanks for your opinion, but I will be choosing music that I like for these videos.
