Achievements are extrinsic motivation, not intrinsic. Intrinsic means that the motivation comes from within (the player. i.e. the satisfaction of doing the thing), whereas extrinsic means the motivation comes from outside (i.e. from a reward like an achievement). In gaming, examples of intrinsic motivation could be trying to explore the whole map in an open-world game or wanting to make a specific build in minecraft. Essentially setting one's own goals
You are 100% correct, my bad lol. I explained that a little bit better in my last video. I meant to say intrinsic rewards not intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic rewards are things like pride or satisfaction that you can get from completing defined tasks in games instead of the game rewarding you with some sort of in game item or xp.
I hate when studios shut down the servers in the older gamed, and there are online achievements in it. (Mirror's edge), or achievements that are for a limited period. Red Orchestra 2 has one, where you had to play the game in the first 2 weeks of the release, and now you can't get it anymore.
could you add a thing where you can only grab onto players for so long because some people keep grabbing onto people for like the whole match and its very annoying
Man, you're living my dream, I've only released two mobile games and have made some multiplayer prototypes using Riptide, but I just cant seem to finish projects D:
1 game that rewards the player for doing achivments is payday 2 there alot of them though u get cosmetics, gun attachments, guns, ect that u can use in game kinda cool i hope to see more games add stuff like this
The new achievements are fun to complete! :) The burst achievement seems to be bugged though. Im pretty sure I should have gotten it a few times already
Yeah my bad, I just replied to another person saying the same thing. I meant to say intrinsic rewards. Those are things like the pride and satisfaction you can get from completing a task as opposed to the game giving you xp or items
I have a question, you will launch the game in other platforms like console? I know is too early to ask this but i dont have a good pc and i want play your game, I have to say it looks really fun and will go far
@_fimka oh okay, I mean that's just the active ragdolls. They are supposed to be a little like that. It's all physics based so there are no animations
For me achievements are pretty 50/50 cos some games more playthroughs or whatever make it more enjoyable and i find new things about the game but sometimes they just make me hate the game 😂😂
The achievement system is for me as useful as an eyeball at my ellbow. I really wouldn't mind if the whole system gets nuked. Of course that will not happen thanks to all the indoctrinated junkies who play games often just for this fluff system and are not really interested in the game. To me the system feels like loops from the devs to collect them all and distracting from the central point to enjoy the game. If one gets old to you, just move on to the next game.

sometimes achievements are the reward for playing in a unique way instead of an encouragement
Yeah, that's true too!
i made my own indie game on steam, and this'll definitely help with adding achievements. thanks!
I'm glad I could help :) good luck!
Excited to try and get some of these achievements :)

it is extrinsic motivation. even the meaningless achievements on steam qualify as such.
Yeah my bad, I just replied to another person saying the same thing. I meant to say intrinsic rewards. Those are things like the pride and satisfaction you can get from completing a task as opposed to the game giving you xp or items
I want to say your game is very fun :) I'll a buy a skin pack if that helps supporting you
Thank you so much :) it does!

Hey, is there any Discord Server? My friend and I would love to be in an active discord
grapples galore is my favorite game
pls fix fluency in your game. It's nice [game], but i have no smoothness with 100+ fps
Hey, not sure I fully understand, could u elaborate? Do u mean there are big frame drops?
I mean the jerky character animation
@_fimka oh okay, I mean that's just the active ragdolls. They are supposed to be a little like that. It's all physics based so there are no animations
Make a knock off spiderman game that is just grapples galore but with web guns

steam achievments are discriminated
all games on PS have platinium trophy, but not every game on steam have "pklatinium achievment"
I agree with @mightyflyingmango3810... You should make tf3!!!!
