Claudette Gerety INCREDIBLE young man, most teenagers are on their phone, computers or gaming systems. Most teenagers are rude and disrespectful to there elders. Most teenagers feel they are entitled to everything. I have two 17 (soon to be 18) teenage twins(a boy & girl), who know everything...lol They work, go to school and give me ZERO problems I just wish they would be doing more things like this, but at least they are not rude, disrespectful and getting into trouble. Nickolas is a GREAT role model👍👍👍

Taggzy Thanks! I really appreciate that. I try to make positive connections with my kids. I teach math so most kids come in already with a chip on their shoulder. So I try to share with them my love for fishing, hunting, shooting, etc to show them I’m human. It’s getting harder and harder though. Where I’m from has turned from an agricultural area to a suburb of Atlanta during my lifetime so not as many people have that love for the outdoors anymore.

Since then I have camped out many times with my family, but nothing compares to those days when I was a teenager camping with my buddies in the woods.

Nice Video Nick. Soon at 400k👍🏻 it‘s cool you use Walmart stuff, theres too many high end hipster campers, bushcrafters and hikers on YT. You show people with smaller budgets that its possible for everyone to have a good time outdoors. I often set my goals on what i want to do too high so i end up not doing it. You motivate me to just go in the woods in the next days and do a overnighter

ProTip for Shooting at Night: Put the camera on a tripod and put it off at a distance large enough to capture the whole area. The camera will adjust to the ambient lighting of the whole camp ground automatically. If you can adjust the exposure manually, even better. For sound, record with an additional audio recorder and sync the sound when editing.

Your such a cool kid! I just wanted to tell you how I use my grate like that. I dig a circle under my grate. Not really deep. About 4 inches. Then I set my wood and start the fire. It helps keep all the wood together MORE importantly I don't have to worry with any bit of wind blowing ashes around and starting a fire. It's great to prevent a fire from spreading. That also leaves you more room for a fire under the grate without the flames getting directly on the grate. When I am done I can wet it down but also shovel the dirt on to the hot coals to put it out.

I went camping for the first time in 20 years last week. I am hooked. Already planning my next trip. Just get out there, bud. It puts things in perspective and helps cleanse your soul of all the toxic societal BS, so to speak.
@@JohnBender1313 I am 42 now, and the last time I went camping was when I was around 12 years old. It was with family and friends at Prince Gallitzin park in PA. Actually was a terrible experience with tons of biting flies, excessive heat and rude people. Maybe that has tarnished my memory of camping. Just hanging out with a couple friends with a campfire and tent seems fun though. Too bad I have no friends who would be willing to do that.
