Small Brush Fire Threatens House - Long Ridge CT

Stamford (CT) Engine 8 and Long Ridge VFD were dispatched to a reported outside fire, caused by wires down on a windy evening back in November. On arrival, Long Ridge Chief 711 reported high-tension wires down with a size-able brush fire extending towards the house. He requested an additional tanker to respond (Turn of River VFD Tanker 68), but the fire was quickly knocked down with tank water and it was determined to be un-needed. After Eversource secured the power to the line, Engine 71 used their deck gun to mop up the burning area.

Pickup truck was a utility vehicle that had responded directly from the city's Thanksgiving parade. The contraption on the back was a confetti launcher.
