Fish always autocompletes it when I type "l". Tab is a bigger key than "S" so my "0000000000.1" of physical energy that is present in my left hand is not wasted in moving my index finger to the "S" key.

@@shadesoftime the sarcasm went right over your head lol, it’s mean to have to type 4 letters instead of 2 so you have to essentially do more work for the same outcome, which in relative to my original post, alias ls to list requires the exact same about of keystrokes as ctrl+r + ls
@@shadesoftime also base arch would not do this by default, but possibly arch based distros but that would still have to be set by the developers before production if it comes default.
i do this, alias ls to l, la -all to ll and for other commands Crtl+r, reverse history search and use fzf also for interactive selection, and use the zsh-autosuggestions too
no, its about new linux users when they first trying the terminal they click the arrow than typing it because it a bit scary when you typed things you dont know in linux 😅
Gentoo users removing ls because it's bloat:
KEKW
'echo *' over 'ls' any day of the week
🤣🤣🤣🤣
hahahahah nicee one
when your .bash_history is 2 gigabytes
gets scared and changes histsize to 1 and histfilesize to 1kb

@@mokuken2469 fish is a shell xd
you must not be using qwerty then right?
@@mokuken2469 you can get it in almost all terminals.
imagine not aliasing ‘l’
me seeing the terminal it's clear:
$ clear
I think what really hooked me on the terminal was me learning how to string multiple commands into one line using &&
And also learning killall, ls, cd
you should look up pipes (this symbol: | ), they help you do that even more by "piping" command results into other commands
bro, search about this --> | and how to use it, you will feel like a true hacker
DVRST! you have good taste.

thanks man this is the only one laptop i have that my mother gave whe she buy new one because its so slow
That's dumb. Just do a ctrl+r and type 'ls' and then it autocompletes ls for you.
or you can always alias ls to list. ezpz
@@xorsirenz ls is already kinda an alias, I've seen ls --color=auto aliased to ls by default in arch and probably other distros

I don't get this? Why don't people use ls?
ls list the content of a directory. You can use it to show the files and foldes of a specific location
