I actually met this man at THE TIP back in the day. Dropped off a couple CDs me and my bros made back in like 02 or 03. I miss them days. Before the internet when u actually had to physically go places. 👍🏾💯
I used to break down metal hangers and rigged a couple of wires together in order to get a good frequency for those stations to come in clear (WNUR & WHBK) While Living in the Robert Taylor projects in Chicago, They played the best music back in the early 80's....
Wow... I wish people knew the rich history of Chicago Hip Hop is a GREAT story. Everyone has their regional bias though... it just is what it is. 🤷🏾♂️ The mainstream has NEVER pumped our scene (like they have other cities) either therefore most people don’t even know our scene even existed.. I don’t get how people think Chicago could produce a Kanye & a Lupe without a certain environment with a lot of interesting things going on. Chicago also produced Juice & Rhymefest the 2 dudes who washed Eminem... & there’s other MONSTERS like Profound, Capital D, Hell.sent, Prime, Akbar, No Pity, Rubberoom, D 2 Tha S, 3 In Da Chamba, Macadamian Thorne, The Molemen & other Chicago pioneers that y’all will never know.
I remember bobbito played a demo by Macadamian on 89.9 in New York that I had on tape and I can’t for the life of me remember what it was. It was definitely just a demo tape and not an official release.

Yeah most people only want to hear the drill music and all the "chiraq" stuff. Oh yeah and lupe/kanye. That's literally it.
