That's very much for this useful comparison!

Surprised how good iconica sounds. Do you have to trigger the keyswiches manually in your daw?

Nope NotePerformer playback engine automatically assigns the proper articulation based on the indication in the score.

Best are the VSL sounds, the BBCSO doesn't sound good at all (a bit muddled?). I love your writing! So , you use NP playback engine for Iconica, BBCSO and VSL? (I guess the first excerpt must be native NP sound library, right?) I might add that considering just NP alone costs just a fraction of the other sound libraries, that is very impressive indeed.

I have a mixed template that mostly features Synchron Winds and Brass but the BBCSO core strings which I find warmer and with better legato. Percussion is a bit of everything. Thanks for listening!

Thank you for demonstrating these with your sophisticated writing. Quite useful...and great listening. Amongst the NP engines you have used...do you have a favorite? Any impressions you have of the various NP library engines would be of interest.

My standard template is Synchron Winds and Brass, percussion from Prime, and strings from BBCSO Core. I only have a Mac Mini M2 Pro so ram is limited to 16gb. VSL is remarkably light on ram use and I like the clean sound.

@@soundtreks Thank you for your reply. VSL managing an order of magnitude less RAM use is impressive.

Version 4.2? Is it out already? I didn't see it on its website.
