The mom's "justification" for hating her son for years is ridiculous. Even with hate, a loving mother would show complicated emotions mixing with love. His mom obviously never loved him. She loves everyone except for him.

Well she was jealous of her own son so I don't expect much from her. It's obvious that she wanted to be the center of her husband's universe but she didn't expect him to continue loving his son after being accused of so many awful things. She rewrote her history by claiming he left her. I wish he would've reminded her that she was the one that left him.

She also needed to concentrate and blame all the bad things happening on a person. Of course that person was her son. I think she felt everything that was happening to her was wrong, it shouldn't have happened, like somebody stole her destiny.

I know that most of the watchers think badly of Wei Qing since Episode 1. The reason he treated her like that is because since Xiao Fei entered the family, his parents became stricter towards him, so he could also show something pretty good to his parents. But he misunderstood that and thought that his parents love Xiao Fei more than him, because his parents always praised Xiao Fei, so he became more and more disheartened and colder whilst Xiao Fei was there. And after his fathers death, his mother left him alone and went away, while blaming him for his fathers death. This of course leads to a PTSD. After 10 years he has never experienced love anymore, and in his mind there is only money, his company and his allergic reaction. And in these 10 years he had never learnt what love was and how it feels like being loved and how it feels to fall in love. This is kinda reasonable for his behavior since Episode 1, I mean I know that the story with his parents wasn’t told in the very first episode, but tbh, I really liked his character since episode 1.

I also liked his character from the first episode, but the things that he did to the FL did make me not to side with him. But what made me really like his character is because he learned from his mistake and became much better person and treated the FL much better. I have to say that his character was the only one that had any development in the whole drama.
I'm not sure what the writers were hoping to achieve with this 'revelation' but his mother is psychotic and doesn't look any less unreasonable than she did before. I don't think she deserves her son's forgiveness really

The female lead is really gifted. She has hundreds of facial expressions to make you laugh and can walk in a gracefully awkward way when she is embarrassed. There are so many beautiful and talented Chinese actresses who can perform dramatic scenes but only a dozen or so who can really do both comedy and drama at such a high level.

The parents were wrong not to tell him about his cancer, especially when the son was only 18 and acting rebellious. He never got the chance to make amends with his father. And his father shouldn't have hidden the letters from the mom because she always blamed the son for everything. Not fair to the son, who was never shown love, even if they lived him in their selfish ways. But theom was the worst. Nothing redeeming about how she unreasonably hated her son through no fault of his and only loved the husband and adopted child and so full of jealousy and resentment for the son.
