I still can't believe that these women are not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! I am a Sound Engineer myself with over 50 years of experience, travel doing performances and recorded in a studio for many years. This is by far the best live mix/performance (even if it was post produced, in order to work it has to be done right during the performance) I listen to this about 3 to 4 times a day!
Never seen an orchestra jam this hard! They are totally in a groove. Perfectly matching The Pointers energy and power! A spectacular performance by all on stage👏👏👏
@veeganboy Catch from similar concerts with the same orchestra, Donna Summer- MacArthur Park from 2005, and Chic - I want your love from 2007 -- full concerts are available somewhere here on YT but those two particular songs are the best - a full orchestra 'getting down' to disco at its best.
This is the year when Mrs. Anita found out her daughter Jada was sick with pancreatic cancer, and she was still performing at the time of her diagnosis, and the following year she lost her daughter Mrs. Anita was going through so much and she's so strong to have went through all of that. She's such a strong lady 💚👑
So I have a little fun fact. I always loved them because my mom and my aunts would always play their music as I was a young boy in the 80's. But I especially knew them for this song being in National Lampoon's Vacation which I loved. So at my elementary school in the 4th grade, one day randomly while we were in class, the principal announced that The Pointer Sisters had arrived to sing a song about good school attendance. I lit up with excitement. The other kids were stupid and didn't realize the honor of what was happening lol. It was a short and cute song about the importance of being at school everyday. I remember telling my mom that the Pointer Sisters had performed a song at our school through the intercom. Thank you ladies for the lovely memories your music brought me. ☺️❤
This is by far the greatest live performance I’ve ever seen or heard. These beautiful woman are so talented and the energy they bring brought the house down
Amazing guitar solo, incredible pianist, ground breaking arrangement and orchestra playing like they LOVE it. What more could anyone want. Add the sisters to the mix and wow. Just wow. 2024 started with a bang for me!😊
Arguably the greatest Live performance ever. Love the violinist 2nd row middle going off her head 1 minute 10 seconds in! Sadly Ruth is the only one left and a granddaughter. Scared to look to whom...
Anita, I have never cried over any artist’s passing, except yours. 🥺 Then I realized just how much I love you. I’ve been binge watching your videos ‘cause I still cannot believe you’re gone. 😭💔 Thank you so much for your legacy and for leaving us with masterpieces like this one here. Thank you also for showing your fans how much you care for and love us by interacting with us on social media these past few years. I may not have gotten that chance to meet you, but I will forever treasure the memories of being able to see and hear you sing and perform live. I, along with so many people, will miss you terribly. I love you, Anita. So very much. 😭🤍🕊️ RIP.
Goosebumps. Goosebumps everywhere. Awesome! Fantastic! Great! I'd love to have seen them live when they were all together Great energy and a fantastic sound, love it. 🥰 What a performance ... WOW !!!
this is an amazing performance - everyone on that stage is giving their all - that dynamo that is performing in Junes place is having a blast - amazing.
What a stellar performance, and how about a round of applause for these musicians and sound tech team, the orchestra was absolutely stunning - that was just Electrifying and undeniably phenomenal! The Pointer sisters are one of the best to ever dot it. We pay homage to you. The more I learn about music and it's rich history, I fall deeper in love with music. 💐💐💐
@@happydrunkmeansober The lady you are referring to is the daughter of Ruth who is one of the original sisters who still sings to this day, so fuck off with your negativity. This was an amazing performance all around.
@@happydrunkmeansober You are literally one out of the millions that have seen this that feels the way you feel which is typically a sign that you are completely wrong. The fact that every comment is positive and involves how they all killed it contradicts your opinion. @@happydrunkmeansober There are honestly times where hate should just stay in your head. You are hating just to hate. Period. Guarantee you Ruth would have a field day with you if you said that to her face about her own daughter...
My dad played this video randomly the other day in his TV and I was impressed by the energetic this performance was! I've already known the song but this version hits hard! Wanna dance 🎉
I've seen this video a few times and love it more and more every time I see it ! Absolutely fantastic performance by these wonderful energetic sisters !
I keep watching this - over and over - 20 years later. So much to love. The orchestra's excitement, the strings and the brass going back and forth, the "Oh Yeah" at the end (Ruth?) even the chants of USA coming so soon after 9/11. This performance is such a gem. I think this might even better than Tina Turner's "The Best" at Wembly - and THAT was something.
Absolutely stunning performance full of energy and with the backing of an amazing Orchestra. That also looks like the late John Miles on piano forgive me if I am wrong but I know he did perform with them around this time.
K en paz descanse anita excelente actuación nadie como ella para interpretar esta cancion k grandes recuerdos, a donde se fueron esos tiempos tan bellos saludos desde chetumal Qroo México

RIP Anita. You and your sisters gave and continue to give me so much joy and pleasure through your music.
I absolutely love this arrangement. What a show this must have been.
