Excellent diagnosis of the club I wish the board and owner could have the intelligence to watch and listen to your breakdown of the mess we are in again. From a season ticket holder of over 60 years. Thank you boys

Thank you for the excellent insight into my club. You have obviously done a lot of research, as so many of your points have hit the nail on the head.

Bang on boys. And the majority of fans are no strangers to the thought that it's the club that's rotten not just the manager. I do like the squad and think there are also some good young players coming through.
But, as mentioned they need game time and to be trusted.
When they sacked Steve Morison, results were about okay. But you could see his plan, his vision. Why he was doing things on the pitch.
Bulut's football is properly shocking. He's now trying to move to a more possession style and probably attempt more goals from open play, but that's now taken away from our set piece prowess, and obviously Macca went to Luton.
Little side note, Craig Bellamy, recently hired by Wales has started well, but indicated early on his vision for how he wants to play, a man that was with Cardiff as a youth coach.........oh what might have been

I’m so glad you both pronounce “Bulut” correctly unlike some other commenters who insist on pronouncing it Buluu. Great analysis the problems run deep at Cardiff. Think he will probably be gone by next international break although it will hit Tans pocket with Erol on a 2 year deal. The cycle will continue again.

First time i've listened to you guys and I'll be subscribing now. Excellent analysis of our club, no strategy, no ethos, no plan.

Think both of these are very intelligent, well thought out takes on the situation at Cardiff. I think the length of the season has to be taken into consideration here though, we’re 6 games into 46, there’s still time for Bulut to turn it around or for another manager (I’d like Dave Challinor from Stockport purely off his success getting multiple promotions, or Tony Mowbray for his record developing youth players and his personality would resonate with the Cardiff crowd) to come in and make a difference. This isn’t a bad squad especially when you consider the crop of younger players coming through.

Spot on, the executives providing Vincent Tan with football advice have made an absolute mess of it over his tenureship. They need to go just as much as Bulut.

You’ve both really hit the nail on the head and I commend your knowledge/research. Think Man Utd of the championship without the club size/resources, but from a hierarchy, recruitment and manager POV. Lots of poor manager choices which in turn has provided poor recruitment, all because no one at board level has any football knowledge because Vincent Tan refuses to hire a DOF or similar role due to the fall out from the Malky Mackay and Iain Moody debacle. Warnock aside it’s been a disaster ever since. Every new manager has signed their own set of players who once the manager is inevitably sacked, then don’t suit the next manager or the rest of the squad etc. It’s an ever repeating cycle.

Interesting discussion lads. It was a while ago now, but I saw Cardiff play at Portman Road last season and Bulut's subs cost them the game. Cardiff caused Ipswich loads of problems, particularly Karlan Grant who played on the left side of their 4-2-3-1 and terrorised Harry Clarke. After they scored their second goal, Bulut changed to a 3-5-2 and moved Grant infield to play up top which completely surrendered the initiative and in the last half hour Cardiff ended up chucking away a two goal lead to lose 3-2. I know it' s unfair to judge someone on a single game, but it stood out to me because it's so rare to see a manager have such a tangible impact on the result with their decision-making.

Great analysis! As a Cardiff fan I think ultimately under this owner and board we will not progress as a football club and sadly I can’t see that changing until there is a change of ownership. There isn’t enough joined up thinking or long term planning which I do believe will catch up with us someday. I do think this squad is better than relegation/ bottom third, but that a change of manager is needed to achieve this. However I have no confidence in the board or owner appointing that person. It’s likely to be another short-term appointment that may well see us stay up this season but we’ll be back to square one this time next year.

Spot on. There's certainly a sizeable following at Cardiff that think changing the manager is the missing piece of the puzzle. It's like a merry-go-round.
I think the fallout of Emiliano Sala's death has also had a significant impact on the club, financially and reputationally. I'm not sure where Cardiff go from here.

Good vid guys 👏👏 Really interesting to hear a genuine independent view of the situation. And I see good and bad in what you say. But the style, tactics and team selection has been tough to take. Personally I can’t see what Bulut brings to the table.

Totally agree with this analysis. The fans have been clamouring for a strategy for years and most of us would like to see a Director of Football to implement it.

I agree with everything you said. I don’t think it’s just Erol to blame but he’s not helped himself apparently we have no good coaches one of them is a fitness coach from the Greek 3rd tier. He’s just brought his mates in to help him. It’s laughable with the directors at the club as they aren’t even full time with us. They are part time and only come out or do anything in the last moments. Cardiff is a club with a lot of potential if done well, I just hope Tan sells up and someone with a good football knowledge comes in. But I want Erol to go now I’d rather Darren Purse take over and get some quality coaches around him. Get the talented youngsters involved. It’s horrible being a Cardiff fan.

I agree. Sadly our footballing philosophy is dead (if we actually ever had one). We have no cohesion, no vision and passion is dying. It’s routed deep in our club and we need new passionate owners and a footballing director to start a new project. Vincent Tan has done a lot for the club in terms of money and debt but he has rebranded us and taken our identity along with it. New overhaul is needed and won’t be a quick fix if it’s done correctly.

Very well researched; good points similar to Cardiff fans following the shambles every day. It seems like Cardiff don't feel the need to be proactive when looking for a new manager - they wait to see who applies or whoever's passing by the door at the time. It's doubtful our chief exec, while busy with his other job running a car hire firm, is seeking out the best new coaches in Europe. So yeah, big issues not just at team level, and I expect another half-arsed throw of the dice if we ditch Bulut.

The club died after the rebrand when most supporters didn’t even protest the stripping of their own identity and colours. And the ones that did were threatened. Just waiting for this zombie franchise to get relegated and go bust tbh.
