Nice to see you trying to help freshly locd folks. Ive had locs for 5 years only used water and oil the whole time, never lost a loc. Remember to keep it simple too, products will build up after some time. Don't retwist too frequently, i wait a minimum of 6 weeks to get my hair retwisted.

I’d personally say 2 strand twist
styles before a yr into your loc journey can thin out your dreads for some ppl at least
