Korean people call parents by their kids’ names and then umma or appa. My name is Crystal or 유리 in Korean so everyone calls my mom 유리 엄마. It’s a culture thing… If it’s for something like a TV program like here, then the commentators can say their real name and then umma or appa after too because it’s a show about parenting, like how reporters at press conferences would say “actor” or “singer” or “player” after someone’s name when addressing them
