Judge Not - Grassroots with Angus Buchan

John 8:3-11 is todays reading and Angus tells us that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. We have all sinned and have no right to judge others. First, remove the log from your own eye before you try to remove the splinter from your neighbours’ eye. So often those who criticize or judge what others are doing are guilty of far worse behaviour. Repent of your sins, say sorry and move on with your own life. Let God be the judge!

Jesus' requirement about the stone throwers having no sin, didn't mean they should be sinless - only he was, and he knew it. It meant that they were obeying the full law in the respect of the condemnation of this woman. Lev 20.10 is clear: if a man commits adultery with another man's wife, BOTH should be put to death. So, this woman who was caught "in the very act of adultery" had a man with her, but he is no where to be found now. This was a sin. This was breaking the law. Perhaps this was the writing the Jesus wrote on the ground: Lev 20.10. Paul says that we who are spiritual should correct those trapped by sin. You're misinterpreting the scriptures, pal.
