Thank You from CIMB Artober Art & Soul 2023

CIMB Artober Art & Soul 2023 is a 4-day art fair held at MITEC Kuala Lumpur from 5th to 8th October, and is one of the marketplaces created for CIMB Artober, a 3-month campaign dedicated towards visual contemporary art. The event was officiated by Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj.
Connecting our heritage with our contemporary art, is a valuable lesson of life’s continuity. It is only fitting that the key highlight of CIMB Artober Art & Soul, was the Pahang Pavilion, where the private collection of Kain Tenun Pahang Diraja belonging to Tuanku, were on special display; side by side with twenty of the top commercial art galleries from Malaysia and the Philippines.
To produce something extraordinary such as CIMB Artober Art & Soul, required the efforts of an entire village. Thank you to MITEC Kuala Lumpur, CIMB Artober Art Soul strategic partner, Balai Seni Negara, MyCreative Ventures, Yayasan Hasanah, LimKokWing University of Creative Technology and especially to Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Raja Permaisuri Agong.
An art community project, led by artist Anisa Abdullah was also kicked off. Titled “EPICC Unity”, the collage artwork measures 18’ x 12’ and comprises of 24 pieces of canvas, provides a contemporary visual depiction of CIMB over the last 100 years. The first person to start this community art project was Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Raja Permaisuri Agong.
