Yeah, it was tough "selling out," but several of the originals decided to return to the professional path they'd intended in college. I yielded to becoming a cartoon character instead of a "rock star" aware that our novelty had worn thin. And, as Elton John's lyric stated, "comic strip characters never grow old." If you never had a hit record of your own, you can't be too arrogant and still preserve the privilege of singing for a living!
Yeah man but you sure entertained the hell out of a shitload of people for a long, long time. Joy and laughter stimulate the immune system. Music is a powerful anti-depressant. You guys are healers. Thanks.
Donny, you're right about that! In interviews in other videos, you thought many times that Sha Na Na would break up, but that never happened! You guys are still together!
Donny, I have 2 serious questions to ask you: First, do you remember the 2nd Wave of the Spanish Flu in 1918, which was 104 years ago, and that was our last pandemic? Second, do you know that epidemics discriminate, but pandemics don't, which is why more than 1 million Americans have died in more than 2 years? Think about it: Men, women, children, and even animals have died from COVID-19. Viruses mutate, and ANOTHER Omicron variant just popped up! If you want to blame anyone, blame China, because they're Communists, and MOST of them are dishonest, and they're now paying a terrible price for their dishonesty! You can also blame those who refused to wear masks and get vaccinated! At least half of those people would still be alive if they did! Our government(s) did a terrible job by NOT making masks and vaccines mandatory, and even in other "free" countries, like ours, their death rates are MUCH lower than ours! Go figure. In case you're wondering, I got ALL 4 Moderna Shots, and we'll need more shots in the Fall. I'd prefer the COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines to be mixed together, so we can get just 1 yearly shot, and the vaccine companies are working on that. I'm Jewish, like Bowzer and "Screamin'" Scott, and we have the highest vaccination rates, because we're staunch believers in safeguarding our health, no matter what! Not only is getting vaccinated a Mitzvah (Hebrew: "Commandment"), but it's also a sign of love! In other words, it's another way of saying: "I Love You!"
Yeah, that happens sometimes. Those originals and even some of their successors had a hell of a lot of magic. Those first 4 years 1969-1973 were the absolute best.
