***** Great gun, I think you should have just made the barrel a little bit longer and used more powerful rubber bands, it might not be authentic in terms of mesurements, but it would be able to fire further with more power.
Crazy Psycho Well if viewers want to they can extend the barrel and A1 and make longer flares. I actually only had a 150mm piece of pipe to start with, otherwise I may have done the same.
One of best options if you have cardboard instead of wood. Mechanism is really simple and it works just fine. Only must reinforce the "flare" and make a barrel. 10/10
Ian Fyffe The SCAMP turned out to be flawed. I thought the dodgy trigger of the prototype was just due to poorer than usual workmanship, but I had the same problems in the final version. For now that means that there's no tutorial for it...sorry about that.
Loom bands are pretty rubbish. I now load mine with doubled-over size 12 bands, you could do the same with size 16 if you make the shells about 130mm long. Skip to 8:03 in this vid if you don't know what I mean by doubling them over: ua-cam.com/video/4qFJyTLjNxY/v-deo.html
It could work, but it will involve a lot of modification to the plan. The shells will need to be narrower, the frame shallower and the moving parts modified to fit the pipe. You could try another hardware store, or maybe even eBay.
