I agree. The expectation should be for this kid to go out there & make mistakes. He will probably throw a pick or 2. I just want to see him make a couple solid throws, a couple 3rd down conversions, a touchdown pass. I think that’s reasonable.
I think this take is pretty spot on...only injury to Maye would be a negative first game. The offense SHOULD be more productive if AVP fashions the offense to his talents, but even if he doesn't I expect he will make plays off script and with his legs that will make the offense more difficult to defend than it was under the ponderous Brissett.
He can have 5 int's and I won't care. The only way to learn and get better is to play. Hell, Bo Nix is playing since day 1 with a bad o-line, making mistakes, learning and winning.
I think we've find out more about Van Pelt then we will Maye. How he calls a game and tries to get him into the game with some good easy scripted throws can show whether he is actually worth anything as OC.
So nothing would be deemed a disaster? So if he throws 4 interceptions w/ 0 TD's with under 40% completion, has happy feet all over again and can't hit the broadside of the barn, that's ok? I just don't like statements of "no such thing"
Drake maye has pois and he also knows the game! Honestly he can be our tom Brady for the next few years but it's going to take some time. But I really believe we got a diamond in the rough.
What's going on with Javon Baker? He said "get your popcorn" but he doesn't exist so far.
Healthy scratch

Maye's been waiching a journeyman QB for 5 weeks, if that isn't a lesson in disfunction and ineptitude I don't know what is.

Maye's going to get LIT UP!
I hope he lets it rip. Like Payton back in the day. You make mistakes so what. Learn what works.
It really henges on what the receivers do. Pats can run the ball. Still, you cannot depend on the run game and defense to win games.
Aikmen and the cowboys were 1 and 15 his first year.
Watch Maye be junk over the next year or two

Haha, what a cope title. No possible disaster? Lmao.
