    Fantastic! I always try to catch a fish out of the sea every year. I'm predominantly freshwater but I wish I lived closer to the sea! This year I've got to try for a Bass! It looks a really nice way of fishing too. Lovely place.

      salmon ninja we’re like you, primarily freshwater fly fishermen living in land but we fish the sea whenever we can and over the years we have started to understand the conditions, tides, most likely species and have started having consistent success. There’s nothing like being stood in the sea anticipating that arm wrenching take from a Bass . . . . . Although it’s not always a Bass 😉

      eeedowls thanks for the comment. Haha it does sound like I’m shouting at him but I was just trying to help :-)
      To be fair to my Dad did a great job in tailing the Tope when I couldn’t get it past the second breaker 👍
      More will follow very shortly.

      Lee Hunton cheers Lee. Look forward to it. Furthest North I've fished is Aberystwyth so nice to see some footage from further afield...

      Sea Fishing Marks U.K thanks for the comments. Yeah I’m gutted about the footage I didn’t catch. The runs and jumps would of made spectacular watching. I’m just glad to of landed it on such light gear to be honest. Fantastic species which I must catch again!

    I often fish west wales around barmouth and dyffryn. Which beach was this?

  • @rossp7105
    @rossp7105 5 років тому

    When you say light bass gear, can I ask what breaking strain the line is? And I presume it’s mono? I’m a coarse fishermen so it’s purely out of curiosity. Cheers.

    • @leehunton4656
      @leehunton4656  5 років тому +1

      Ross P I was using 15lb mono. The light aspect was the rod - 12ft 1-3 oz which really limited the amount of pressure I could put on the fish. Cheers

      Lee Hunton cheers pal I only ask because compared to north shore west shore doesn't seem to get many people fishing it. Any tips? I've not sea fished since I was young kept to coarse fishing. Was bait was you using for the tope? Very good days fishing

    • @leehunton4656
      @leehunton4656  6 років тому +1

      CasualGamer no problem mate. Tips wise I’m by no means an expert but I’ve fished that area for many years and I’ve learnt through failure the best times to fish, ie size of tide, flood or ebb etc. I’d suggest choose a few locations and learn them by putting the hours in! Bait for the Tope was a frozen sandeel meant for the bass! The beauty of sea fishing is you never really know what you’re going to catch

      Nathan's seafishing thanks. I wasn’t able to weigh it but from the length conversion chart we estimated it was around 40lb

      Rick Kania I know it’s not ideal but why is it a Big mistake?

    • @bykers81
      @bykers81 6 років тому

      To be fair, sometimes you have to but if you’re willing to totally strip clean and oil your reels (something I really should get to doing!) then all’s good.
