I watch fishing blogs and unfortunately too many anglers keep small skool bass when my three mates and myself caught small bass we put them back because they are a slow maturing fish take a leaf from this caring angler in this blog nice to see
Fantastic! I always try to catch a fish out of the sea every year. I'm predominantly freshwater but I wish I lived closer to the sea! This year I've got to try for a Bass! It looks a really nice way of fishing too. Lovely place.
salmon ninja we’re like you, primarily freshwater fly fishermen living in land but we fish the sea whenever we can and over the years we have started to understand the conditions, tides, most likely species and have started having consistent success. There’s nothing like being stood in the sea anticipating that arm wrenching take from a Bass . . . . . Although it’s not always a Bass 😉
eeedowls thanks for the comment. Haha it does sound like I’m shouting at him but I was just trying to help :-) To be fair to my Dad did a great job in tailing the Tope when I couldn’t get it past the second breaker 👍 More will follow very shortly.
Great stuff and thanks for sharing this.Shame about the footage for the tope but ive done this before too pressing record and it actually. Was already recording. Such a great species- all of those and those suroundings look magnificent.
Sea Fishing Marks U.K thanks for the comments. Yeah I’m gutted about the footage I didn’t catch. The runs and jumps would of made spectacular watching. I’m just glad to of landed it on such light gear to be honest. Fantastic species which I must catch again!
When you say light bass gear, can I ask what breaking strain the line is? And I presume it’s mono? I’m a coarse fishermen so it’s purely out of curiosity. Cheers.
Lee Hunton cheers pal I only ask because compared to north shore west shore doesn't seem to get many people fishing it. Any tips? I've not sea fished since I was young kept to coarse fishing. Was bait was you using for the tope? Very good days fishing
CasualGamer no problem mate. Tips wise I’m by no means an expert but I’ve fished that area for many years and I’ve learnt through failure the best times to fish, ie size of tide, flood or ebb etc. I’d suggest choose a few locations and learn them by putting the hours in! Bait for the Tope was a frozen sandeel meant for the bass! The beauty of sea fishing is you never really know what you’re going to catch
To be fair, sometimes you have to but if you’re willing to totally strip clean and oil your reels (something I really should get to doing!) then all’s good.

Lee Hunton cheers Lee. Look forward to it. Furthest North I've fished is Aberystwyth so nice to see some footage from further afield...

You can get sand in the gears, this happen to me once. Happy fishing tight lines.
Please forgive me but you sound so much like Karl Pilkington lol great video.
Phil Uniacke haha we’re from the same part of the world so all forgiven . . . . Plus I think Karl Pilkington is hilarious 😂
Was this at Dinas Dinille? Cracking fish by the way and well done to you and your dad 👍🏻
Peter Dufton many thanks. It was a great day. No but not far from 😉

Black rock sands
Nice video but get the sharks back in ASAP as they tire and stress quickly
I often fish west wales around barmouth and dyffryn. Which beach was this?

Ross P I was using 15lb mono. The light aspect was the rod - 12ft 1-3 oz which really limited the amount of pressure I could put on the fish. Cheers
Good work getting her in. Cheers for the reply.
Nice wat beach is that and how are you fishing
What bait did you take the tope on? Nice fish!
retro1980 thanks! Frozen Sandeel

CasualGamer this was on the west shore

Lee Hunton cheers for the info buddy
- Nice vid. Thankyou for sharing. Im hoping for a tope from the shore soon. Check out some of my vids if you get chance. 👍🏻🎣
Nice fishing. I’d say the Tope is about 15 pounds tops though.
Great vid was the tope in the double figures
Nathan's seafishing thanks. I wasn’t able to weigh it but from the length conversion chart we estimated it was around 40lb
@@leehunton4656 Nice, Well done
Pick your rod out the sand, school boy error
This School boys rod and reel live to fish another day 👍
You should never leave you rod laying in the sand. Big mistake.
Rick Kania I know it’s not ideal but why is it a Big mistake?
