Hello. A stupid question here but Is v-ribbed belt the same thing as an alternator belt?

This channel made me buy another Saab with z19dt recently, since there is so much good information here to resolve all the issues that occur with these engines 😁

I sold my Zafira but I was really satisfied with z19dt. Only alternator issues , which is a well-known problem. One more thing. The throttle body needed to be recondtioned because of shaky engine shut off. Other than that, nothing. The engine is as strong as a Russian tank, as we say here in Poland. :)

You've made so many people's lives easier with your great instructions ;)
I wonder if you have knowledge on what can cause power loss on these engines, when for example going ~150kmh and accelerating, the power drops (seems like turbo stops working) you restart the engine without stopping and all is good again. Check engine light doesn't come on.
What's strange is that my last Saab was not stock - EGR deleted, cat/dpf deleted, injectors were pretty bad and this happened often. Now I bought one that has all the things still working perfectly - EGR, DPF, cat, etc. But it still happens sometimes 🤔 (much less than the old Saab buy it's strange that this one seems to be in a much much better condition but the same issue occurs)
The old one had quite a lot of smoke when accelerating hard, this one has almost none.
I have replaced the MAP sensor on the old Saab and it MAYBE made it occur less often. Haven't done anything on the new one yet, because it's very very rare on this one, not a big problem but just interesting what is the issue 🤔

Um don't be spraying WD40 on a rubber belt. The belt will absorb the light oil and will weaken and wear out very quickly, also dirt will stick to it, especially in the grooves and it again will wear faster. Running it a minute or so with the belt off, if the squeal goes, then you know its a pulley.
