Beautiful video. African music is like the heartbeat of the world. It doesn't get any deeper.

i would like to do this one day,i am going to school for anthropology this winter,so hopefully this will add to my search, people ask me all the time,do i have ethiopian in my family,i don't know.but you see that's one of the many fallouts of slavery,we are mostly disconnected from our african heritage,an i think this is BEAUTIFUL i am totally moved, there is soo much more to us than american history,or what we were taught,it seems like you feel more whole from this experience.

I always wanted to know where my ancestors came from far as the tribe or village. Jus the connection to my original home before the kidnapping and bondage.

    Antoinette,
This is very profound, to be able to say, "This is where I'm from. These are my people." Congratulations on reconnecting--for the moment: yourself, for the future: many others for whom the journey will bring empowerment and peace of mind. Have you started to learn Tuareg? (I speak some Hausa.)
Yau da gobe, ki iya! (Little by little, you can do it!)
    Alan

Yes, that is very true. Amazigh people come in different shades. We're a very diverse group. Some don't even consider us African because history says we came from Arabia.

Girl, I'm waiting for my test. Another test pointed in this direction. I ordered the Matriclan test to be sure. Coming from a long line of "rootworkers", I believe it. I can't wait!

watching clips of Tuareg people I find them to have various looks-some look tanned cacuasian, some actually many look fully negroid, and some look like a mixture of both.I am starting to believe Tuareg isn't actually a race but a culture. Most books say there are a Berber people putting them in caucasoid territory but many Tuaregs look fully black.

You must realize that the Tuareg civilization is a multi layered caste system with Ikhlaan(the slaves) mainly African, the Harratin, the Inaden, the Inusulmen, the Vassals and the Noblemen the highest tier is basically the Tuareg. And well observed on your part about the Tuareg culture being practiced by many surrounding tribes such as the Songhai, the Hausa, the Wodaabe, and others. And on my Mother's, Grandmother side someone male or female was Tuareg (Kel Illumideen) of Mali by the virtue of a dna test via ancestry.com.
