Dear Deacon: Mr. Toot was a local kiddie show host in the Duluth, MN/Superior, WI area, seen in the late afternoons Monday thru Friday over Channel 6, WDSM-TV, later called KBJR-TV. He was played by Ray Paulsen, the station's weathercaster. It was necessary to play a half-hour filmed show after Mr. Toot to allow Ray to take off his clown make-up and put on a suit and tie to appear on the early news! Those were the days when local stations had personality (and personalities!)
RIP John Oliver
Watched Mr Toot as a child. And was on the show with my sisters and brother. Duluth Minnesota

Rest in peace Mr. Toot. Ray Paulsen passed away Friday, March 11, 2011
I like the superimposed Reddy Kilowatt marionette.
Ray is very ill now. He's now in a hospice. He was a talented personality in the Twin Ports!
Do you have any more footage of MR TOOT from the 1970's WDSM/KBJR?
Goodby, Mr. Toot.
Goodbye
The murderous hell-beast.
This reminds of the Pat McCormick's Charlie & Humphrey show in the 1970's SF here where I live, goodtimes!
