The last two yearling bears to be released seem to grow too attached to the volunteers. If Angelika can’t teach them a healthy fear of humans, they could put the whole bear rehab program in jeopardy.

I am glad you keep them longer then Manitoba Rescue does. Here its often 60 - 90 days, over summer. I cant see how a little 50 lb cub could hibernate without freezing to death, thats if they havent been eaten by wolves or a male bear.
They very rarely over winter Spring cubs. Which I think is very sad and ignorant.

It’s sad but they didn’t really have a choice. They were running out of gas hours away from the closest station.

I suggest you buy a winch for your truck. You’re too far away from any help four-wheel-drive won’t help you in mud.
