- 7 Difficult hunters to learn Identity V. With every couple of seasons, Identity V releases a new hunter, and almost everyone in the Identity V community has a favourite hunter or a hunter they love to main. After playing a hunter though, each player will realise that the mechanics of that character are much more difficult than they realised, but which hunters are the hardest to learn? In this list I will be naming the most difficult hunters to learn in Identity V showing some Identity V gameplay and also explaining why I think they are hard to learn.
All the buffs and nerfs of each character are current with Season 15 Essence 2.

Well as a hunter main, sometimes you can master a hunter, but can get completely destroyed by cipher rush
Then use Joseph, I main him, no single survivor can cipher rush with him, If u master playing him.

The saddest part of a hunter life is that no matter how new or powerful the hunter is in a few seasons the survs will counter them or be banned and so unplayable in rank

I would consider clown a very difficult hunter as well, the way pro players mastered their camera turning and dashing in tight areas is insane!

clown is pretty ez to me. beginners should use his propeller (no dash time but slow dash speed)

@@audreylo6892 bots in general are surprisingly better than players in IDV. Most games it's the other way around.
When i first decided to start playing hunter i decided to look for one to buy to try out. I stumbled upon one which i thought was pretty and i had a nice ability. So i bought them and started playing them.
It was Yidhra.

As a Geisha Main? yeah I agree with what you said. but honestly i'm just happy you noticed us! Most Geisha players get forgotten as players with skill and are just told "you play a bad hunter" or "you're bad at the game"
Actually geisha is not bad but its hard to play
geisha's ability can destroy Survivor's kite if you can use it well, the only problem is her hitbox !
Her Hitbox is really Awful so you must pratice for some sort of time to get used with it.

Ripper has some difficult depth-he can hit two survivors at once, has to manage his cooldowns by using fog, etc
Fun fact from a Leo main:The Red Puppet and Yellow puppet have diffrence
The Yellow Puppet:Allowed to teleport while airborn
The Red Puppet:Can hit survivors in beetween Red and Leo

@@plantman1093 Actually the teleport button does not work till it reacges the ground sure your mid air for a secind but yeah unlike the yellow one
Wu Chang is also hard , you need to teleport accurately if you miss up you might lose also you’ll need to know spawn points and predict where survivors are going and memorize which ciphers are decoded to teleport to them also aiming the bell stun is kinda hard :> don’t forget it’s extremely hard chasing some early game since he has nothing to start with expect teleport
Wu chang skill cap is just keep growing like it depend on your rank and how much you play with it,cause there isn't fixed set of playstyle for wuchang,when you play wuchang you need to immediately think about all the possible outcomes of your choises from the mid games option that you have in some match, and find the most appropriate coping method

I'm going to be honest. As a Photographer main, I really didn't think he'd be on this list.
I've used him for so long I forgot how much I really think about while playing as him.
@@sleeby1761 from mid tier you must be super good because survivors will know how to avoid terror shocks and kite longer so you have to maximize what you can do with your camera and use mind games to knock down survs. Having no chase is the biggest disadvantage he has and Survivors know exactly how to use this to their favor, but once you master him he can be terribly scary
@@sleeby1761 mmm I consider him difficult to win with because he basically has no chase, so yeah maybe he can be easy to use but I think winning is way more difficult. Personally it took me a lot of time to understand how camera works and how the damage can be healed and not. Also the jumpcard has to be well timed and not obvious to predict. I guess you're just really good and understood him easily! In the game he also has almost three out of three of difficulty :3
Joseph is the only hunter with high difficulty that I somehow managed to be good at. (cries in *can't properly use BQ*)
His weak chase is balanced by his big ass hitbox and quick interactions (pallet breaking, recovery). He's the perfect hunter to use to climb up into mid- high tiers since new survs don't know how to counter him. His skills aren't so complex, once you get the idea. It's only hard since it requires a good knowledge of the map and spawn points and crazy prediction
So yeah. He aint that hard to use, but players are getting better at countering him the higher rank you get.

I remember I was a noobie hunter and I bought my first hunter, and it was dream witch (I thought she was very hot)

Wow fellow friend, im also Main Joseph Entirely because His Aesthetic Looks and he is my first hunter
Joseph is easy to use if you know the basics in low rank because most of the survs don’t know how to counter him
But photo is a hunter you NEED to know how to play strategically and mind game in higher tiers the way you play is dramatically different than most other hunters
That's right in low rank you even are able to beat survivors without using cameras. Just chasing them
I really think Percy needs to be on this list for the “hard to win”. Many people think Percy should be an easy-to win hunter because his abilities seem so useful and they are sometimes, but his counter (tite-kiting) can be very detrimental to the hunter. Combine this with a somewhat small hit-box, a dash ability that can be easily dodged, and a situational stun.
I’m not saying he’s a bad hunter but when it comes to wining games it’s surprisingly hard.

I got sculptor and had a hard time aiming the chess pieces to hit the survivors. But when you hit one and then hit them with your stick it’s very satisfying.
For me was Galatea the hunter I spent most of time in customs,duo hunter and iven tarot just using her to get better and better ....her skills require some patience and predict where survivors are or what they gonna do .
I’m really glad you brought up Hell Ember! Honestly, I think people are usually deceived at first by his simplistic controls and his presence as a “first villain”/boss as the only hunter you receive for free. But it is hard to navigate placement, especially considering his speed.
Yassssss as a main luchino myself, I strongly confirm that from elk tier and up, things get really frustrating.
Ppl know about the ugly hitbox so they literally kite me between my legs 😂... they also predict all the jumps and transition to buildings where jumps become practically useless.
I heard he'll be getting a buff, can't wait to see.

As a Joseph main he can be alittle difficult to learn at first to other players but for my experience he is kinda easy for me because I started to main him when I was still in low tier and most of the survivors doesn't know how to counter him but soon you'll get to know him, I already master his card skills, blink, and still learning survivor's predictions, and as a Joseph you really need to memorize spawn points, but glad I had a decent memory to remember a survivor's specific spawn point, I'm also learning Marie you need to place her mirror in a good position so the accuracy will be perfect.
Using Dream Witch is an example of you liking to difficult yourself. :v
As a ember main i agree The most common mistake I see new players make is that they just throw the puppet and expect them to get kills, puppets use the hunter a.i so 9/10 times they do nothing you must adjust your hunting style based on what the puppet is doing EX: if the puppet is going to a small hallway cut off the survivor so the puppet can combo with you

Mary is pretty difficult, you need to know the way her mirror works, so the survivor won't juke you the whole time
at least that's how it for me
She is also very reliant on her mirror. Without it, she is basically photographer with Geisha's hitbox.

I often use Joseph, Luchino, and Yidhra, and while I knew Yidhra was difficult to learn and use, I didn't think the other two were ^^;
I feel a little better about my ability to use these hunters, after this video.

I love violinist because of his sick tunes whenever he successfully hit a survivor. I always find him difficult to use.

I’ve recently begun to learn Dream Witch! She is indeed difficult since there’s so much to keep track of but I’m having such a fun time with her!
As ripper main a can confirm that aiming foggy blades is indeed difficult

Whenever I play him, fog blades aimlessly hit someone by pure luck but never hit when I intended XD
Further thinking, there's almost no easy hunter.
Leo, Joseph, Burke, Galatea, Yidhra- they all focus on multitasking and skills of the character
Mary, Joker, Bane, Geisha, Wu Chang, Ripper, Ann, Robbie, Luchino- all focus on precision, prediction, map control and accuracy
Violinist, Bonbon, - are very skill-dependent, using an ability without a hit is lost skill and time
The rest, I have no clue. But I think that some people would agree that it's much, much harder to play hunter than surv these days
I love love playing Joseph. He’s really easy to get wins with. I use the camera very sparingly only really using it when I’ve got a survivor chaired. I probably should use it more but this strategy honestly works very well for me personally
We'll to be Honest Photographer Isn't that difficult to play with, unless your not photographer main, or not very familiar with Joseph's ability, not only his hit box Is good, he can be good at kiting too, that's what the footprints are for...
Just really difficult to use that one abillity...my camera keeps spinning when I use it and then I can never see where I will teleport T - T
Not sure if anyone will agree with this, but as someone who mains bloody queen, she can be extremely hard to win with as well, especially against good survivors. You have to be precise with your mirrors and be able to predict where a survivor is going, lest you completely waste a mirror, which puts you at a high disadvantage. Even more so due to her camping disadvantages. I'd you don't down someone quick, you're kinda screwed
I feel like Bq could be difficult as well because you can’t just place her mirror wherever. And if you miss her mirror it’s pretty easy to loop her if you doesn’t have confined space. Plus tight kiting is hell whenever I play Bq. ;-;
Yeah! With crazy cipher rush, you're forced to do one mirror= one hit or you'd be wasting your skills and time, and you need to think of the placement and efficiency of the mirror in a certain situation.
I really want ripper to be buffed. Comparing to other hunters he has bad map control. And if u missed the fog blade u get kite easily in early game..
Waiting 20 secs for a fog blade seemed like hours
The latest buff he got is so disappointing.. Or at least it doesn't do much for him at all. His map pressure and cipher control is still terrible and I've already given up on IDV since he's been my main for a very, very long time and they ruined him over the months / years :/

i find yidhra easy, that i main her. in the beggining you struggle a little with follower controlling and some tricks to confuse survivors but when playing more, it goes so easy to play
update: i dont find her easy now.. just learn some tricks and tac-tics and itll be fine
As joseph main...I actually purposefully wait a few seconds before making camera world..and then I just check all the ciphers ..never bothered to remember the spawnpoints and it has been going rather well so far xD
I first bought mary because she was attractive, then I bought violetta because she looked cool, and I now main ann because shes both and I can use her really well. I love that call out at the beginning lmao

There's a difference between "Difficult to Master/Learn" and "Difficult to Win with".
That being said, most of these Hunters are easy to master with the exception of MadEyes, Breaking Wheels, and Dream Witch. Ripper, Geisha, and some others mentioned are pretty low skill cap. If you can Aim your Foggy Blade and keep in Mind you can go invisible you're set.
You can Master Geisha, but the fact that Survivors can Obliterate her by tight kiting around a wall. Doesn't mean she's Difficult to Master, it means she's difficult to win with.
Layman's terms: Difficult to Master would mean the Character is Good once mastered, and Difficult to Win with Can mean they are weak in nature, even upon being mastered.

At the time I made the Comment, Geisha was considered Bad, wasn't even picked in rank or tournament.
As of right now she got a Few QoL buffs, though she's better now, especially due to the fact that Survivors became more Transitional, she wasn't good back then.

Sculptor and BonBon are also not that easy imo - it’s a lot placing bombs/ sculptures right
People underestimate a player's skill because they play sculptor and bonbon just bc they are S tier meta characters, but you need to know a lot about predicting where each player will be or how to place your stuff, get the right timing and all of that, or else you are fucked.

You can spam them, but don't be surprised when you're not consistent with downing them. Bonbon and Sculptor are one of those "easy to use but hard to Master" kind of Hunters. Especially when you go against Survivors who know what they're doing, you can't just spam them and expect to win.
@Diethard the fact that you don’t even know the maximum timer setting for bonbon’s bomb already makes the credibility of your statement questionable(it’s 40 seconds, not 60 to save you the trouble of going in game to check). Also, the skill for bonbon comes from his chase, not his camping. I admit that camping with him is easier than other hunters, but when it comes to chasing survivors, especially at zero presence, it’s a lot more than just bomb spamming. It’s actually tougher than it looks
@@Joriginality full presence sculptor u can just spam the statues while camping or chasing, sure it might take like a match or two to place the statues to were the combined statues will go but it’s not that hard, but I do agree with no presence sculptor takes skill
Mary should definitely be on this list, her mirror is super hard to use unless you place it in the right place. mirror placing is key when using Mary

I attempted to use Photographer and lost like three times he was so difficult to use but then I got one victory recently but I believe I am slowly getting the hang of using him and for Geisha she is kind of difficult and struggle using her but I decided to use her because I love her design.
I'm a very bad player so I main Gamekeeper and just hook hook people and hit them. I don't even use my traps lol.
Just keep playing and maybe you'll learn how be better at playing the game 😊
As a photographer main , who doesn't know how to learn the spawn points, and multi task, It is a painnnnnnn. I always tie or lose, depends ! tho if im lucky enough I sometimes win :)
As a Ripper main, this made me pretty happy to hear, that Ripper is considered a difficult Hunter to learn. Ripper was the whole reason I started getting into IDV, he's the only Hunter I've ever bought besides Wax Artist lol
This is going to be very controversial, but as a Bonbon (Guard 26) main, I think he is one of the hunters that have the highest skill ceilings. Players often say like: "Oh, just spam bombs". In high tier, that doesn't work at all. your bombs need to be strategic to cut off kiting areas, and you will often be throwing bombs really far away rather than just tapping them (making it harder to aim/time).
Plus, you can switch between 2 and 5s bombs to mind game the survivors who know how to kite Bonbon. In low tiers, Bonbon is all about aiming and spamming bombs, but in high tier, the mind games becomes v prevalent.
I completely agree with mad eyes. Even if I knockdown a survivor with his fences, I would probably teleport to a wrong cipher. Survivors also aware with his drones, and they can hack his device quite fast.
Ngl i started maining Mary cause she was attractive and i really liked her skins. Now it feels like she's a part of me and my spirit hunter lol.

I would say Mary is a difficult hunter to learn, because you need to think about your mirror images movements more than your own. O course, she has the reflected survivor image that makes her job easier when presence is high, but she relies heavily on knowing how to move her to move her mirror image correctly. Not only that, but when you spin your mirror, you need to know how that is affecting how you move. You also need good depth perception, which is very tricky to get a hold on.
As a (mobile) geisha main, my main struggle is dashing to an open area in prajna form and then getting stuck on some random fence/tree a mile away from the survivor

Same. Geisha kinda easy to learn. Her hitbox is kinda lacking tho. BQ is harder for me. I dunno how to aim her mirrors effectively... But i agree with the list of hunters that are harder to use technically
Bonbon is semi difficult to use

As a photographer main, I would like to say that you forgot to point out what is possibly Joseph’s biggest weakness. He can’t do well in big maps like the lakeside village. Of course, this can be (somewhat) mitigated with blink or teleport.
Im a mad eye main, but i never thought he was difficult. He very ez to play once uk the maps
as a wheel main, I actually found geisha really easy for me. The only problems i have with her is the fact that she goes to the closest butterfly in sight instead of the butterfly in the middle of the screen, idv, and the fact that her attack lasts for a short time. I really like wheel's attack since it lasts for a long time, making it possible to start the attack, then hit someone behind you. Also, before you ask, I found wheel easy because I played a lot of racing games when I was younger.
I think clown is more difficult than hellember cause at the very least, all of hellember's multitasking is on auto and the puppets even give a warning if a surv is close to them which is why i mained him haha. That and clown requires knowing what buff you need and the problem of not crashing. There is also wu chang who has 2 forms, requires precision and practice in teleporting and requires map memorization(tbh wu chang is the one hunter i still cant use XD)
Honestly what I hate is that as a hunter main,
It’s so survivor sided and almost all survivors will harass you , being a hunter main isn’t easy
Me who only plays Bloody Queen just because I have her Booodbath skin. Without it I wouldn’t even try maining her.
Ngl first time picking Joseph up to play in season 11 I understood he's play style fast because My ex best friend told me to not touch him caz he's her main. She did this with everything that included a fictional guy and she would get mad at me for liking a character she liked
I would honestly Wu Chang and maybe clown here. Clown hard to win with and Chang in hard to learn.

As a mobile Luchino main, it took me so long to get him down and now I just hope ppl don't know how to really counter Luchi.

i started playing violetta in late december because from starting the game i grew a huge attachment to her, and i should have realized i should have started her earlier (i only began playing december 17th)...
I'm now the 15th violetta.

I once tried playing breaking wheel (on mobile) and I kept hitting walls and the bots kept escaping. (Every single breaking wheel I played against did not use the wheel for the whole game)
Try just spamming the attack button to drift. It helps you to get used to how he turns and also you get to know how to control the speed

@@Deimiz10 no your 1st skill makes you faster. Holding the attack button allows you to hardturn/drift.
