Bought a D50 end of 2022 for 30€. To this day, I took about 500-700 pictures with it, but man… In the bright summer light, with the 50mm 1.8 D, shooting RAW, the results straight out of the camera are just PERFECT. It’s the most fun camera I own and I got plenty. Can only recommend it to everyone who’s thinking about buying it. But don’t forget to look out for SX Cards only, no SD HC or SD XC - they don’t work with the D50.
I was a pro photographer for 20 years shooting portraits, commercial and weddings. I was shooting pro when the big transition to digital started to happen. Always used Nikon and unfortunately had the experience of owning the terrible d100, but switched to the D70 back in the day and loved it. As years went on I had the D2x then the d3. Then I gave up photography for many years and did something else. Sold most of my gear. But recently got back into photography and was amazed at how much technology has moved forward in the camera world. Mirrorless for one thing. Also how many think that you need the latest and greatest to achieve the best results. So not true. As much as I like mirrorless, I still love Dslrs and have picked up a few cameras recently including the D50 & D40 which I love to use for their simplicity.
Thanks for this Public Service Robin; I loved this episode! --- We are told that phones need 20+ MP to take a good image, that DSLRs are obsolete, and the Nikon entry level camera with a "future" is the Nikon Z50. It has an $860 USD price ($1000 with the 16-50mm kit lens).
Last weekend I just got a D50 with the 18-55 kit lens for £25 GBP, that's about 150 MYR or $32 USD - about the cost of two take out Pizzas or coffee and cake for 2 at Secret Recipe in KL!
And you are right - the ergonomics are really good, the camera and kit lens is light enough to carry all day, the JPGs straight out of camera are wonderful, and the key controls that matter are all to hand. Surprisingly, given the D50 has a pentamirror not a prism, the viewfinder is bright even with a kit zoom.
Once you have worked out that it takes only 1st generation SD cards up to a max of 2GB, and that large cards or SDHD cards will just lock the system it is a joy to use and gives a kick to creativity through the novelty and simplicity of the set up.

I read on the forum that you can use 4GB, but not the format SDHD!
But these memory cards were produced in very small quantities.

I have too many camera bodies to list, but I find myself going back to the old dslrs constantly. My Nikon D70s is definitely one of my favorites. Thanks for the enthusiasm Robin!👍

I use a Sony a200 with minolta and helios lensed. Love it
I love my d80, since using it, I spent only 10% of my time on computer processing the images; because there’s nothing I could think of to adjust! Everything is exactly what I saw with my eyes, the film look of the images just insanely good. Nowadays, I shoot less and less with m43 mirror less, they can’t win my heart as much as the d80. Old is good.
D50 was a younger brother of D70, came out in 2005 while still retaining the CCD sensor and motor drive for screw lenses of D type. All later Nikon entry models did not offer the D lens compatibility.
The older Nikon's are a great tool to keep it simple. I started the photography hobby with a D3000, then D5000, upgraded to a D7000 and then sold it all for a Panasonic GX85. That said, I purchased a Nikon D40 and still use it often. I too got it for about $30 USD and it keeps photography simple and fun. Matched with a 35mm f1.8 DX lens, my kids use it often to learn as well. It's a must have!
Thank you for this video. I absolutely agree with you. My oldest Nikon is the D90. I use my D7000 all the time, as the D850, D500, or the Z6-II are just too large to carry around. The only thing no one mentions is that ALL the Nikon cameras, including the mirrorless (aside from the small Z50), use identical batteries! Nikon upgraded all my D90 batteries to the C version for free, but the battery is the same and would have worked in all my cameras. Great video!

I have loved using my D50. I shoot and do car photography and have a D700 as my main camera. It is great for my photography but whenever I want to shoot other stuff I always take my D50. I love how compact it is and the photos are great. The CCD sensor is awesome and is more then enough for my needs. Recently went on holiday and took my D50 with me. Was super happy with how all the shots turned out and I reckon my D50 will be a great travel camera. I got mine for free from my school who was throwing away a large number of cameras, good score!
Robin you'll be doing a disservice to yourself if you don't try the 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-D lens! It's the cheapest fast telephoto zoom on the used market for ANY system. The results speak for itself, i've used it on my D70, D200, and D800. It makes images that have that classic old school professional look to it. I was only a year old when the last AF-D version was made. You will not be disappointed! It's a MUST TRY before you move from Nikon, you will laugh at how cheap you paid for it compared to the high quality result!
I never really fell out of love with photography because I have never stopped shooting with Nikon DSLR's - specially in the APSC format. From 2005 I have owned eight different models and have loved all of them. I dabbled once with the Panasonic Lumix GX8 but was not impressed with the final image and thought it overpriced. I now own a D90 and a D200 - like your D50 they are more than enough with a good lens. Keep spreading the message Robin

I’m a Canon guy and I just purchased a EOS 100D with 50mm f/1.8. You inspired me to purchase an older DSLR.
I view my photos on a large screen TV. 1080p has about 3Mp. If I had a 60Mp camera, the photos would look no better.
4k is roughly equivalent to 8.3 Mp. When one considers I sit about 8', (2.5 meters), away, I don't know that I would ever see an improvement over 4k.
Higher camera resolution may be great for cropping, but like you said, I never do. Good enough, is good enough.
For me the color science is more important than resolution. If the picture pleases me, I don't care what resolution it is.
After debating which camera to get me restarted with photography I finally picked up a Nikon d50 and the deciding factor was your video. Many thanks Robin. I got a very low shutter count good quality one for 40 English pounds. Cheers
Finally you're talking my language. I never ever loved the newest. I had the D70s, and it sparked me to lots of fun. So many cameras after that. But the D70s was the most fun. Then the d200,90,3200,7100, then Pentax, the Panasonic, the Canon, and Sony. Many of those. I just shoot EF glass on Canon, and Sony adapted to EF glass.
Hey Robin, long time Nikon pro here. Started on film SLRs in the 90s and made the switch to DSLR 20 years ago with the... D50 which I still own and love. The images are amazing. But you asked Nikon why they removed the legacy screw drive auto-focus system since more lens options means more flexibility. But they had a reason for it. That system requires an extra large motor inside the camera body that is otherwise useless. That adds cost, size and more importantly, weight. The D40, for a few reasons, was massively more popular than the D50, partially because they were able to cut cost while improving size and weight (and battery life) by removing the unneeded motor that by that point almost no one needed.
My Nikon journey was the D50 -> D90 -> D3500, but I am receiving my "new" D3000 tomorrow. One of the reasons that I'm so excited about it is because it is the highest version of the CCD sensor family found in the D50 (10.1MP instead of 6MP, plus Nikon's earliest computational photogaphy)... but does so in a much smaller, slighter body. Moving from the D90 to the D3500 made, for me, a much better weighted system and much better handling. I'm super excited to get the old D3000 and gat that X3xxx size and weight but with that amazing old CCD sensor instead of the CMOS.
So that's why Nikon took that out. For many of us, the every day size and weight were bigger deals than getting to use theoretical old lenses (of which I owned several from my film SLR days) that we'd often already replaced. Remember the DX system was new so the "old" lenses weren't designed for the platform at all. That screw motor focus was just to help people transition both to digital AND to the DX format lens family that was just rolling out.
Hope that clears up why they made that decision. I think that it made sense. We had years to transition, I've never heard anyone pine for that old focus motor before. But I actively wanted to avoid it.

My first DSLR was the D70 (a close relative to the D50), which I still own since 2010. The camera has crazy good image quality and I could never sell it. There’s something about a big sensor using only 6mpx. Looking at your photos from the D50 renders the same brilliant quality! Outdoors the 50mm is such a great combo.

Nice to see the older DSLRs get some love! The Nikon D7100 with the 50mm f/1.8G has been my favorite set up for many years! The focal length is pleasing to the eye and it’s not so bad for weight, either. 🤙🏼

Love your enthusiasm and energy thanks. I am a vintage (65) old photographer coming back from a long layoff really only using digital for the first time and have been looking at lots of gear. When I used film I would normally obviously be constrained by the film iso and would choose my aperture at the highest f stop I reckoned would work given the light, preset my focus quickly compose my shot whilst selecting a matching shutter speed and ‘click’. This d50 sounds perfect for me.

Great video, Robin. The D50 was my first DSLR and I still use it off and on, though I do have much more modern cameras as well. At the moment, that camera has the same 50mm 1.8 "D" lens on it and I agree it is a great combination. Thank you for reminding us of the advantages of this camera.

I have 3 Nikon D70s. I use them with the older Nikon AI lenses and they work great. AF / AI and AFS all work nicely with the camera.
Love the video, I use M4/3, Nikon apsc, FF and Canon apsc, I adore my D7100 which uses all Nikon lenses but to your pointmit is a joy to use. I love the optical view finder, feels more organic to me. I love your street portraits, amazing results.

My oldest DSLR I still shoot with is an Olympus E-10 and it is still fun to shoot with. My main workhorse camera right now is a Pentax K5 IIs. I also love my EM-5 Mark II when I need a lightweight easy to pack kick for travel and the like.
The Nikon D50 was my first DSLR. I learnt a lot using it. I got it because of the good grip.
I only upgraded it when it started limiting me. My favourite lens for it was the Sigma 17-70mm.
Yeah the beefy grip helps handling substantially!
It’s a great camera , Robin . At the time it came out I was torn between this and the Pentax k110d . I bought the Pentax .
6 mp is way good enough for most and I still have the images to testify to this.
However , after a holiday around Europe , I found my neck aching from wearing the camera so much and it caused me to switch to Olympus . The rest as they say is history ha ha.

I love my D50. It was my first delve into the DSLR world. Great overview of why it is still a great camera in 2023.
If th D50 was awesome long time ago, it is still awesome today.
The D70 (same ergonomics and most other specs) brought me from analog to digital photography in 2005. Previously I had a Toshiba digicam and hardly used it - it did not make fun. The D70 gave me many happy hours. In 2008 it was replaced with a Nikon D300 and 2012 I switched to Olympus (OM-D E-M5). Coming from analog cameras it was intiutively usable without reading a manual - btw. the D70 manual is the best camera manual I ever read.
What I also liked was the easy-to-use wireless remote flash control. I still own both Nikon bodies an a set of lenses but hardly use them because the Olympus gear is much lighter and smaller and I also like the ergonomics - today of the E-M1 Mk III.
Yeah the newer cameras have a lot more modern features which can be useful.
I love these old cameras. I'm so exhausted by the new $6000 B's.
Robin, another interesting video. Back in the day (early 2000s) I was trying to justify transition from film to digital and my dream was to get a D50 but could not afford it at the time. Since then I have made the switch and can afford pretty much any camera I want. I did pick up a few years back a D70 but card slot was bad. Got a D90 that still works and is great. Also picked up used D3400, D7100 to augment my stable of M43 and Nikon FF cameras lol. Just like using all types of cameras and enjoy all of your videos.
The crazy thing is a lot of these older cameras are so so cheap now, it is so fun to pick a few up and just have fun. They still perform well and produce amazing images.
The D50 was my first dslr, I used it for many years as the entry level dslrs Nikon brought out after wouldn’t autofocus with my D lenses. Eventually I purchased the D90 but have to say I was never as happy with the results as I was with the D50 which I still use as there is something about that CCD sensor that I like & it seems you do also.

I LOVE my D50!! Love the colours out of it over my D750. Its a tie with my D700, but the D50 is so much lighter and straightforward tonuse
You are guilty :-). I had seen your first video about the D50. I bought one and love it like you. I never bought a camera why somebody telling, that this is a great camera and you must have it.
I bought the D50 with three lenses, which I can also use on my D3000. After testing, now I prefur the D50. 6MP is good enough in most cases.

I don't feel so bad now because i have a Nikon D3100 and other photographers say why i don't buy a new one. The image quality is great and the autofocus is quick. Video not so good, but i do photography as a hobby and it does everything a Camera should do. I have 2 Prime lenses and the image quality is much better. That's all i need, if the Camera stops working then i will buy another one. The Shutter count on my Nikon D3100 lasts 100,000 shots, and I've shot 56,000 shots. So it still has life left in it. love my old DSLRs , models I could only salivate for:) however, in order to please my wife, canon RP is the way to go 99% of the time. Girls prefer canon color😅
No worries, there is no need to own multiple cameras, and the Canon Rp is sufficient. I am just going this because the older cameras are so cheap, having a bit of fun without feeling guilty on my wallet
I enjoyed your interesting video. I usually use Panasonic MFT cameras, but I started using Pentax K100D Super again, a 6MP DSLR from 16 years ago. It is a little heavy, but it is good that you can simply focus on pictures.
Yeah the only downside with DSLR - they are huge and heavy
Had one, great camera, only superseded by my D7000. I still use the Nikon 50mm f 1.8 lens with the D 7000. The main lense however is now a Tamron 14-250mm zoom.
I used for nearly a decade a d90. I have it still in my posession and use it from time to time. It has a 12MP sensor but I never felt that to be a limiting factor. I photographed the best time of my life with it (when the kids had been toddlers to around 10) and I never had any issue with the performance of the camera. I used the 50mm screwdriver lens and the 18 105. OK low light is not great but I used a flash. All good.
D90 is quite a legendary camera, but I'd still see D90 as quite a modern DSLR. It also has video recording feature, so not as outdated as the D50. D90 is one of the popular choices for shooting weddings here in Malaysia. Some people still use it today.
@@robinwong I bought it when my son was born in 2008. My daughter was already 4 but she was loving to pose. My son did not care and he was so fast I had to buy a fast camera. ;-)

I have a d200 with 24mm and 50 mm lens . Now gonna try an Olympus ep-2 with the 17 mm 1.8 for a compact set up. Have a d700 and Olympus em1 m1 too and like all the output of these cameras
i still have mines and it works perfectly but remember it only takes max 2gb sd cards, no higher.
I'm a Canon user, but for me Nikon is synonymous with a camera. One day I will definitely switch to a Nikon DSLR
Well, if you love Canon, no reason to switch. Use the tools that you have, the most important thing is continue to shoot!

I recently was given a D70, my first ‘DSLR’ type camera. As a 4/3 Olympus user for many years I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I got used to this camera and it’s budget Tamron lens. I’ll look for a better lens and enjoy what can truly be great fun, under the sun. Superb UA-cam videos. Thank you.

Great video. I agree, cameras have gotten overly complex. s-af is pretty much all I use (sometimes manual focus). I have an x-e2 which is great for both of these, with the exposure triangle very simple to see with lenses that have aperture rings. Although, I don’t it could be picked up as cheap as a D50. I use Olympus cameras too, but manually focusing on those with a fully manual lens doesn’t work as well as it does on my Fuji (pretty much the only reason I’ve held onto that camera, but the layout of controls is also great). You’ve highlighted great reasons for people to search out a cheaper camera such as the D50, but this video may contribute to secondhand prices of these jumping up. I was very lucky finding my Fuji for the price I got it for as these have gone way up on the secondhand market too
I don't think the price of the D50 will go up or down based on my video, that is putting too much value on my work! It is an old camera, and most people would look sideways and go for something newer like D7000 or at least a D90.
Hi, Robin. Great video as always. I have the same D50. The camera has only three flaws and none of them major. 1. The viewfinder is tiny. The D80 and others have much bigger viewfinders but they are often bigger/heavier cameras. 2. The top screen is useful but it’s not backlit which can make it hard to use on dark winter evenings. 3. Minor one: it doesn’t give metering settings for my old Nikon ai lenses so I have to guess. But the D50 is small and light and I can carry it all day with any small prime and the photos are still great, when I get it right.
Strangely, I find the smaller viewfinder to be quite interesting to use. Challenging, yes, but it takes away the distraction of having to see to every corner of the frame, and just focus on the subject at the center, which can work well in some situations! I am not saying it is better or worse, just different, and I like it!

Robin I am in the process of going through 23 years of photos on cd’s and to my surprise I was drawn to shots I took with a D50, D70, D200 and Oly E1. So much so I traded a P&S for a nice looking D200 and picked up a $49 D50. I am having a ball with this 17 year old gear.
It is amazing how these older DSLRs are so cheap now! Yet they still make great images!

I relate completely to your enjoyment of using this older DSLR. I feel the same when I pick up my old Canon 450D and shoot with it. It's really easy to control and handle, straight to the point, no fuss, no bother, just set ISO, aperture and shutter speed (all accessed easily through logical buttons and dials), and go; AF is reliable in good lighting. 12 MP is more than enough. What more do we need? And I'm saying this as someone who also really enjoys the compactness of Olympus mirrorless cameras; the Canon is a bit more pleasurable to shoot with.
Yeah the obsession for technical perfection, and more megapixels are getting ridiculous. Going back to the basics and just enjoy shooting with what we have, these older cameras can deliver great results!

I loved my old D50 which was my first experience of autofocus, and could use older film camera lenses (only manual focus with those). But I just didn't have the skill to get the most from it, like you can!
Don't worry about skills or shooting like anyone else, just use the camera the way it makes you happy! Shoot what you love!
I actually see the D50/D70 used for under $100 and have been contemplating getting one, perhaps with a 35mm DX lens (which gives me a 52mm equivalent) sort of as a project (to do street photography with a "50mm" lens and a cheap camera).

I still have my Nikon D40, also a 6mp DSLR and I'm sure it could deliver as much quality as most people would need in general situations. I moved through most of the Nikon DSLRs culminating in the full frame D700.
Today, I'm using mirrorless because it is hard to deny the advantages, size weight and of course the WYSIWYG display. But I still go out with a DSLR from time to time.
Since you are new to Nikon, you might seek out a really good lens made specifically for the crop sensor Nikons, the 35mm f/1.8 dx. It is small, light and performs very well even at full aperture. It'll give you the 50mm equivalent that you know well. These lenses were inexpensive when new, so a good used one should be cheap to aquire.
I am not exactly that new to Nikon. I just did not use them extensively enough to make useful comments. I don't foresee myself spending that much money on lenses. I got the Yongnuo 35mm instead, which costs almost nothing.
I Owen D50 ans i use ist very offen too andere. 75 f1.8 are vu comfortable
Focal length is still 50mm. No matter what system you attach the lens on. Same applies for perspective and depth of field.
75mm is just the crop shot appearance / field of view.
Nikon DSLR cameras start with D80/90/7000/7100/7200 etc if you want older body that still does the job and supports even body driven AF lenses :)
D60, D3xxx and D5xxx lines are crippled too much. Those also do not have pentaprism, just glued mirrors in horrible viewfinder. Also full plastic weak body with zero environment sealing.
So if somebody wants some cheap Nikon DSLR for some reason, check some D90 at least because of CMOS. And if you want video, then D7000. Things like D90 are very cheap now. Not D50 level, but very close. But technological difference between D50 and D90 is huge.

My best pix came from Olympus E-410 with 10 megapixels and standard zooms.
I think E-410 is still quite modern DSLR. Anything with live view, and has 10MP, these are quite advanced.
@@robinwong Now that you mention... I do recollect it having a live view, but for some reason I never used it, a feature I had completely forgotten. Back then I suppose it was a bit of novelty for a DSLR camera to have a live view or even to use one.
I have a D200. I love the camera generally, but the off is smallish but the real issue is the, IMHO, DX lens selection. It's got to be the worst by any manufacturer. I may sell my D200 because of this. And no, I don't want to use FF Nikon lenses on my DX body.
Robin all the Mirror Cameras as D7xxx, D500, D750, D800 etc. do still have the Srew Drive. So you can use D lenses.
How about "all" the mirror cameras like D40, D60, D5000, and D3000 series? Are these cameras not important? You are missing an important point.
Try to find me a D800 that costs USD30.
@@robinwong You are right. These cameras do not work with this lenses. Cheaper alternative as a D800 may be a D300 or D200. Maybe not for 30$. Here in Germany they go in eBay for about 120-150 Euro. That may be to much for not regularly use. I own a D300. Nice camera. I like your videos in UA-cam on both channels. Its inspiring for me and I learn also about Malaysia / Kuala Lumpur. I agree about your videos concerning older cameras and lenses and your Shutter Therapy. Unfortunately the last four years prices for used lenses went right up. I started photography with film and Minolta SLR and one lens. Shot B&W because of the high prices for color film. Later made Dias.

The D50 was my first DSLR, it was such upgrade from previous digicams. If you're going to further explore old Nikons the D200 would be worth a look. Cheap nowadays, amazing control interface, but a bit heavy. Or the D1x, it's a chunky brick with NiMH batteries, but the film-like quality of the images are superb. Or even the FujiFilm S3 or S5 Pro, the perfect camera for the beach or snow to almost magically recover highlights.
You got that right. The bigger and heavier DSLRs are not for me. I find D50 light enough to handle, and with small primes, it is quite a nice combo.

Любой аналог 70-300 подходит - ведь по-моему д50 был оснащен не просто дополнительным экраном но и устройством фокуса🪛- то есть внутренней фокусировкой (но она медленная и не подходит для спорта). В случае с зумами смотрите либо на обновленные версии с хорошей системой АФ, у компаний их всегда 2 или 3 и обязательно чтобы внутри была информация по стабилизации изображении. Для спорта вам скорее подойдет возможно д200 и д5100, точно д300, д300С, 7д, возможно 50д, точно 60д или сони А57, А65. Ведь я слышал что соревнования проходят и вечером и при слабом освещении. Не переживайте из-за магического старого цвета внутри старых никонов - ведь обработка на в примитивных программах через уроки и на хорошем мониторе - может вас приятно удивить
Кстати, для спорта вам так же может помочь старый 85мм 1,8
Hey Robin, great video about this Nikon. I have a request. Can you make a review of this Nikon AF 50mm f1.8? I couldn't find any good reviews of this lens anywhere. It will be a big help.
I love the Nikon AF-D 50mm f1.8. It's related to the previous 50mm f1.8 Nikkors before it (the Ai and Ai-S) and related to the 50mm f1.8 Nikon Series-E and is a double gauss design. It's quite sharp, but I find that it has a very pleasing character to the pictures. If I were to get a 50mm f1.8 or recommend the first lens to get for your Nikon, the Nikkor AF-D 50mm f1.8 would be my first pick. The feel is also very good and the rings turn smoothly. It's a different feeling from other older Nikkors because I think they use composite for the body of the lens. The AF-S 50mm f1.8 is a different formula than the AF-D version. I consider the AF-D Nikon's most refined version of the original 50mm f1.8 lens, but it retains a very nice character. I have used it and some of the previous related Nikkor 50mm f1.8 for a lot of pictures, and I have always enjoyed the pictures on both digital and film. Not to mention that the AF-D 50mm f1.8 is really inexpensive where I live. I highly recommend it
@@Bunnyisms The one that Robin used here is the AF version, not the AF-D. And there's very little information available about the AF one.
@@SourojitBh The AF and AF-D are optically identical with only relatively small revisions between them in the mechanics and barrel. They are both the screw drive types. I recommend either one if you can get it. The biggest difference is the AF-D transmits data on subject and focus distance to the camera. There are two revisions of the AF. The first one has more focus throw (different focus helicoid in the barrel), but all versions of the AF and the AF-D have pretty much the same optical block
@@SourojitBh No, he is using the AF-D version, which you can even see in the video when it shows it in the front (it says 50mm 1:1.8 D). I have the AF (non D) version and the exterior looks completely different - more similar to other AF-D primes actually (like 50mm f/1.4 AF-D, 28mm f/2.8 AF-D, 24mm f/2.8 AF-D, 35mm f/2 AF-D).
Anyway as @Bunnyisms said - optically they are identical.
Now you won't be suggesting me to review a 50mm on a 6MP DSLR?
The other great thing about the old DSLR is seemingly infinite battery life!
I have my D50 from 2007 up to now,that’s great and still get good images,but it is hard to find a 2GB sd card now.
And the mon is so small and low resolution that you are hard to check the Focus of the picture.
Yeah the thing is it takes small sized SD cards.
Dear Robin. Do try a D700 next - a brilliant old 12mp dslr that creates magical images compared to modern high-tech mirror less systems. After shooting with almost everything except leica, I got fed up and bought 2 D700s (i dont know why i also bought a z5 for, must be a senior moment) a bunch of mostly AFD lenses and couldn't be happier.
D700 great full frame camera I have one but it is very heavy and hard work to lug around. Great layout of controls though.
I have no desire to try the D700. I currently have a D600 which I got for crazy bargain price. D700 does not add any value to my photography or what I intend to do for content here on UA-cam. At least the D600 was banned in China, which made a great story to explore and tell.
Recently started to build M4/3 as a 2nd system (Panasonic GM5 with Leica 15mm, Olympus 25mm and 45mm all f/1.7 or f/1.8 variants)
Nice and small but disappointed ☹️when comparing image quality that I get from my 2012 entry-level Canon Full-Frame (6D Mk i)
Cannot compare the outputs really .. Contrast, colours fidelity, sharpness are 💯 times better on my Full-Frame

This I have to disagree. I have shot alongside full frame cameras and I never once felt Micro Four Thirds could not give me the results good enough to deliver professionally. You may not believe this but in terms of contrast and sharpness, it has nothing to do with image sensor (full frame or not) but lenses. With excellent Micro Four Thirds lenses, I manage to capture images that my clients actually prefer over other photographers who shoot full frame.
