Gold leafing is so gorgeous, I think. Back in the 1970s my aunt gold leafed, with the ‘real’ stuff, an elephant statue about 12” tall for my mother. She was really mad about elephants. It still is gorgeous, but appears an antique, now. Love all your tips, too, and that gorgeous dresser!
I like Annie Sloan paints, but I'm really loving Dixie Bell products more. U definitely don't use as much. Have u tried their Dixie Dirt? It's awesome! It would have been perfect for aging that huge (rose)vase u painted several mos ago. Oh, using a sm fan brush for gold leafing really helps too 💖
I love Annie’s colours but it was definitely a good experience with Dixie Belle too. I haven’t tried their Dixie Dirt but thx for the recommendation. J x
Hello! As I heard you accept sugestions, I dare ask for my request: I am very interested in making from scratch a small pedestal of a Roman column’s capitel, not the simple one , the Ionic or Corinthian. Would you fancy ? 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💌💌💌💌✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

A longer look at the finished piece would have been lovely
Oops. Sorry 😢. J x
Do you have to put gold size on first before the gold leaf?
Absolutely. Gold size is the glue. Just wait until it goes transparent and then you’re good to go. J x
