    Jun, thank you for the sharing video and important information as specified the most important information was information of JPJ rules. And the quality, pros & cons advise. Thank you. By the way i am not a camper but love to hear and see camping videos. Who knows one day one's can always be a camper itself as times to change one minds. This video is a good tuition for all of us. As we all now know what is like to have a good campers Tent. Thank you Jun for your update information.

    After experiencing a flood in my tent after my tarp got blown out and sleeping in the wet for the night, getting the roof top tent is the best investment i've ever done.

    thanks for sharing the cons. practical points. a tailgate tent could be a fair compromise between a ground tent and rtt for easier quick setup and unpacking. but it means sleeping inside the car cabin space instead of outside it and having a smaller sleeping space

    I also own soft shell roof top tent from Thule for about 1 year time, totally agree with you. there are always pros and cons of it, but as long as I continue camping, roof top tent still the best choice for me instead of ground tent

    • @JunOutdoors
      @JunOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      You are right! There is no single perfect way to camp, it's all up to personal preference! I'm also using the RTT more often than the ground tent now - so much more convenient and comfortable :)

    hi there, tks for the sharing, it is really very informative with the pros n cons, tks for it. i don't have RTT because of the cost. currently using those grounded tent, fyi, in order to kept those pest away, i pour a bottle of vinegar at all the boundary of the tent, that smell kept away those ants, cats and dogs and those pest too. for safety reason, i put a PIR motion sensor light and PIR motion sensor alarm at the entrance of each side of tent, when triggered, the lights will automatically light up and the alarm will trigger too (may be i am too over cautious about the security)

    • @JunOutdoors
      @JunOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      Hi there, thanks for watching my video! Appreciate your interesting suggestions. The vinegar sounds promising although it may be smelly not just to the pest but also ourselves lol! Thanks for suggesting the motion sensor light and alarm too - the light is definitely worth considering, however I believe the alarm may be abit of an overkill. A false alarm may be triggered whenever there are strong winds, or when a harmless little frog is hopping and playing near the tent :)

    Love your videos.
    Im looking to get this tent.
    Is the roof prone to water ponding in heavy rain?
    Any problems with the fabric getting saturated that moisture seeps through to the inside ?
    Thanks for advice.
    PaulineLandy

    • @JunOutdoors
      @JunOutdoors  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Pauline, to answer your question about water ponding, as long as the vestibule at the tent entrance is kept taut by trying the edges down with ropes, there will be no water ponding even in heavy rains.
      The fabric is ripstop fabric which is quite thick. 8 months using this soft shell tent, with over 20 usages, I had no problem with water seeping through the fabric.
      I have to warn you though, it's quite a pain to pack down this soft shell tent. Lots of fabric to tuck in. Lots of hopping here and there to adjust, before zipping it up.

    Always good to sleep elevated above ground to avoid insect/animals like wild boars, termites, snakes etc. Car roof top tents look perfect for this purpose although bulky and its weight increases petrol consumption. You guys are lucky. We seldom see such car roof top tents in Sg cuz there are no car camping sites in Sg!

    • @JunOutdoors
      @JunOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      You're absolutely right. Many advantages of sleeping above. Come over to Malaysia for car camping! :)

    Considering. But the steep price is a deterrent. If I'm an outdoor content creator and can camp up to 10 times in a few months, I think it'd definitely be worth it.
    Ni camping 2/3 kali setahun, bawak family. Tak kot. 😂
    Fuel consumption would be a big issue for me. Sending kids to school, then to work and them picking up from school, I easily do 60-70km per day. It would be noticeable.

    • @JunOutdoors
      @JunOutdoors  Рік тому
