Could you show me the motor shaft of this cessna please? Or do yoh have any tips how i can fix this? Its a wodnerful plane.
Oh no, Nate!! Lousy wind!! ☹️ Well if it makes you feel any better, I’ve only had mine for a week now, and it already has a scar on the side of the fuselage, from rubbing against the handle of the bag it’s been sitting on... haven’t even been able to fly it yet! 😢 I’m in love with this plane, and I just don’t trust my DX6i enough to take a chance with such a beautiful aircraft.
The gentleman who got me into RC many years ago once said planes only start flying really well after they achieve the "made of 30% epoxy mark". Of course I'm one of those nutters who still like to build kits or from plans. Thanks for another great video.
I know this has been two years ago. I bought this last year, tried to maiden it with an FMS reflex, didn't end up well as the ground was too rough for take off and I barely got two feet up before it crashed and broke the prop assembly. Then I realised it fried the ESC. I bought a spare, fixed it, tried another ground, bad mistake as the grass was too long. This time it didn't take off as well and I fried a servo. I should have given up by now but I'm not going to. Bought spare servos and am going to try again soon. Wish me luck on my third "maiden"...
I get what your saying about parts, of course all the electronics swap out but if you munch the wings or fuselage your only option is glue? Even if you do a great job putting it back together its not going to look that great. These companies just need to offer spares , they already have the molds made, I have been in the hobby for over 20 years and a big reason companies like Traxxas ect. are great is because the customer has confidence in part availability. I have been buying stampede parts for over 2 decades just for example. For me if I can't get spares its a no go for any R/C model. Just my opinion, you guys rock!
Nate, we all crash. It's how we react afterwards that is important. Your reaction shows good character, adult-like...but those who wail and cry and bleep their words, throw themselves on the ground and roll around show that they have not so good a character...but are very entertaining! LOL! So don't feel bad about crashing. As long as you are having fun, things are good. Keep up the good work!
Nice video. Here's a thought regarding calm. You have more ground speed on calm day than when you fly into the wind. When you crash w higher ground speed you hit harder and longer hense more damage.

Nate you should be a motivational speaker. I could just hear you at a seminar talking about hot gluing your shattered self esteem! Love the videos by the way your optimism and enthusiasm is contagious. Keep up the good work.
Lol thank you very much! I try my best to be optimistic in life, and if possible I try to pass that on to the people in my life. Hope you have a great day Worm 😁👍😎⚓

AWESOME flight...while it lasted!! I'm a fixer-upper, first, before I buy again!! AND that's not just RCs!! The crash could've gone WAY WORSE!! Thanks Saylors!! You're such a class act!! 💟👍😘
You're a great pilot You make great videos. Just so you know, You can buy any brand of pinion gear as long as it has the right shaft diameter hole and correct toothpitch. You can buy regular steel hardened steel, brass, and aluminum depending on your usage need from multiple different brands.
I love your guys videos long time sub ! I Made one inside the usaf museum and posted about 20 mins ago . . A 10 thunderbolt ! Careful Nate dont crash ! 😎
What I’ve found after 5 years in the sport is buy a few cheap planes you could care less if you crash and fly the heck out of them. Learn, and push your limits with them. I have also bought a few ArrowsRC Vipers. It’s not that I don’t like this jet, but at the price, if one crashes I’ve got extra servos, pushrods, a motor/fan, canopy, etc. The Sonic Binary is another example of a cheap plane that’s become one of my favorites to fly. It’s also one of the best built, very stable in the air and easy to land with or without wheels. Crashing is never fun. There’s always that self doubt about your flying skills, but it’s always less painful, for me at least, when it’s less than $150 to replace. And it was Nate and Abby I have to thank for the reviews of the ArrowsRC Viper and Sonic Binary. Fun, inexpensive planes that don’t break the bank.
I don't know why people feel the need to turn every single type of rc plane into an Extra 300. Just buy an Extra 300. Just like so many channels, 3 minutes after saying they are going to fly scale, they are flying anything but scale. I clicked on a scale transport plane video the other day, only to see it doing flat spins 2 minutes later.... point me at a scale only RC channel please guys.
It's called having fun man lol. Its like folks who buy use rc cars and treat them like truggy style bashers and send them to the moon. Its not you paying for it so why the unecessary stress 🤷♂️...watch it or dont watch it, entirely up to ya 😎👍
They should have put the "propeller safer" technology that is used for the Eachine mini-RTF warbirds on this plane (if that's possible). That way this plane would be a super home-run!! BTW - this plane come with LED lights right? Can it be used for night flying? Nate can you please review some (mini) RTF/BNF airplanes (park flyer types) that are good for night flying (with some lights on the plane to tell the orientation etc)? Thanks!
I actually love that plane. That one is why I want to get into the planes side of the rc world. I have the crawlers and stuff. So now I want the planes.
Hey Nate that was nothing. You are a great pilot. No biggie. You've got a ton of planes to fall back on also. I've been trying to get a plane for my son and i but the money just isn't there. You are blessed with so many beautiful planes. This was just a minor speed bump. Keep the videos coming love watching them!!
@@prowlus My very 1st plane is the little Sport Cub S-2 with Safe Mode Technology from Hobby Zone. It is a 3 channel (aileron, elevator, rudder) & has beginner, intermediate, & full flight mode selections & comes with the R/C radio transmitter. Nate & Abbey have a video of it here on their channel! I bought mine for $150 dollars!
Happens to the best of us, my friend! It looks like you might want to dial back the rudder rate on that bird a little. Gentler rudder input will also clean up the snap rolls a lot. Looks like a really good plane at that price, and I love the scale looks!
A very nice plane! When you sell your planes, where do you market them? Do you just sell locally to comrades at the field, or eBay or some place like that?
Yeah the nose gear on this one bent on mine, the real fms version has a much better nose gear because it has a spring in it that acts as a shock absorber. This one does not
Love your videos... I think the reason is that you really seem to enjoy what you are doing ... Thanks for all your content... I have this plane on order and now after watching you fly i I am really looking forward to receiveing it....
Hey man if I can’t find this rtf I can only find pnp which means I think I need battery and transmitter and receiver and charger. Which ones do you recommend ? And if it’s good for a beginner
Hi Nate... Nice crash, that was a good one. I once had a foamy called the attacker, all that was left was the radio and engine, and a bunch of broken foam that couldn't be put back together. lol happens to the best of us. Love the reviews from you and your wife, thanks for all
. Nate, If You arent Crashing your not flying. Flying is easy compared to a good Gear landing.. your Honest an show the Ones that Require parts an repairs. I Fly Wings an The Havok, so fast,, Im 64 yo an love speed still. Yet this 182 is on my radar. So calm an steady a good plane. Your Discussion about Common parts an easy repair of foam, will Doubtlesly help so many that crash an cry, lol as we all do. I more than most. Regards from Alabama Been 2 years, . This model is timeless, .I doubt they will stop production. Some one has had this for 15 + years.
I really like planes that come with spare props, as quite a few of the Banggood ones do. It's especially important if the plane has a 3 or 4 blade prop.
Glue, an rcpilot's best friend. Nate, for new years eve, can you dip one of your planes in gasoline ,light it and fly a fireball? That would be soo coool
Awww.... oh well! Poop happens! I have that same exact plane. I bought it over a year ago from FMS. Its my everyday and windy day flier. I might even buy a second one from your link! That is a Great deal!
Tsk, tsk, Nathan! I always order at least one extra prop for every motor I’ve got (and keep the spare in my flight box!). I think it’s been proven,... if you carry a spare prop, you’ll never break one!
You are Spot On Chris! I should have ordered a spare. I always do for some of my favorite planes, but didn't expect to like this one so much! More props on the way 😁👍😎⚓
Those have been around forever. I think they originally came over to America on the Mayflower LOL. They were built by ART-TECH in China and a guy sold them out of his garage to us dealers by the case. I used to buy them by the 6 pack case ready to fly with AM radios, NiCad batteries and brushed motors about 15 years ago. They were about 100 bucks retail back then. They have always flown well.
Hey Kyle! This plane was on sale during our first two videos, at around $130 and then it would have been a no-brainer! However now that this is back up to regular price, I'd go with the Valiant, because it comes with a reciever that has amazing technology packed into it. Still, I think this plane looks better than the Valiant, and even has lights. The 182 looks better, and the Valiant flys better. Whichever one you go with, please consider ordering it through our provided links as it helps support our channel at no cost to you. Thank you and Happy Flying 👍😎⚓
Hey guys. I have an honest question. I have bought the super cub. Out of the box it went in a slight downward spiral to the left. Then i tried to fix it via adjustment on the controller and it ended up crashing nose first. I understand the up and down of the controller and the left and right not including throttle. Please help
@@nathanm3674 i have watched videos and tutorials. But nothing on the visuals of the metal between the servos and the flaps. I believe that they are at two different lengths. I know you always show how to adjust but any way that you could do it in a step by step showing what the flaps with the adjustments look like. Again i think that at least one of the adjustments are way off. I am a complete noob to flying and need ashove in the right direction.
Guy's PLEASE don't stop saying "if you have the the technology use it!!!" Safe Select, saved my viper ad my weekend thanks. This is will be my mantra. If you have it use it!!😁😁😁😁💪💪
What's the difference between kit and pnp? New pilot, i do know the pnp is ready to fly just bind to your radio, really don't know what kit is for this model?
pnp is plug and play. It comes with a reciver but you have to bind it to you radio. I got this plane 2 years ago (It's the same like the FMS Skytrainer 182) as rtf (ready to fly) but you need to know that you still have to build a few parts together. For the pnp you need to put the wheels on the plane, the wings / horizontal stabelizer and bind it to your radio. I was totaly new to rc planes and i filmed my second flight here so oyu can see how easy it flies :D ua-cam.com/video/BWhzHOAQzos/v-deo.html
It is exactly FMS Cessna 182 V1 change the nose landing gear to V2 and the rudder servo to a metal one and if you wish add HobbyZone Cub S+ Vortex Generators 😀 p.s great channel thank you 👍👍👍
Thanks again for your enjoyable videos! Sometimes you are in a roll and only good flights after each other and then boom! You just have a few really bad crashes and you feel bad. Anyway is a bad landing considered a crash or just a bad landing?
Nice landing there Nate 🤔🙄 Thanks for making me not feel so bad when it happens to me 😁😂🤣 I kid I kid Nice plane love the rolls and just watching is gracefully glide along scale Today is my birthday so ya know what I'm going to be doing the rest of the day especially after watching you guys having a ball 🔥👍✌️
Has anyone ordered the kit version of this? If so what did you do for the motor and prop adapter? I accidentally ordered the kit version and I ordered a motor for it but all the prop adapters I have tried wont work. Contacted the seller and they were useless and couldnt give me an information. Could really use some help figuring this out
@@SeleverRyan I figured it out, this model is actually the FMS sky trainer 182 being sold under a different name. Just buy parts for the FMS sky trainer 182 and they will fit this model
Looks like a durable plane! And it is interesting that you use hot glue for repair. Since I started flying in 2008, I have only used CA, epoxy, welder's and gorilla glue to repair. But I have a ton of hot glue sticks for building Flite Test planes. Could y'all do a video on repairing planes with hot glue and toothpicks?
I just recently acquired the durafly goblin. Watched some others and it seems to torque to left. I stick a aura 5 in it. Being on ohio weather hasn't been decent but I'm legit nervous to fly it
After watching the video I ordered one on banggood. I got a kit with a missing screw (front gear) and wrong propeller (not able to put it on since it's too thick). Banggood refused to send me the right parts.
Planes like helicopters parts cross over like the solo pro and V911. Your plane`s props might as well different manufactures will use same parts as far as the foam planes RIGHT ON tooth picks barb-b-que skewers hot glue the best. Few wood hold outs downing the foam if that had been a wood plane Donnie would say FORGET ABOUT IT..
I bought the Banana Hobby P-40 a few months ago and I forgot for the first time the “Brian Phillips Golden Rule”. (On the initial order of a plane, add at least one extra prop to the order) I haven’t broken a prop in a while, and I didn’t break the prop on the P-40, but I sure as heck grounded the tips down on an aborted, asphalt runway, prop torque spin out. So... while on the Banana Hobby site I needed something else for Free Shipping other than 2 props. I remembered Nate flying a Cessna, so I thought I’d check the price. $219.00 RTF, AND ONLY $129.00 PNP!!! (So I got the 1400mm Cessna PNP, 2 props for it, plus the 2 props for the P-40, for around &150.00!) Not the direction I’ve been heading in for the last year, (large/1600mm warbirds and big jets) but at $129.00 I couldn’t pass it up. I hope it’s as much fun as flying the original Turbo Timber, or the Twin Otter.
I love watching your videos about RC stuff keep up the good work.I have had several RC things that either sink in the pool or got lost in someone else’s tree yeah I had a bad experience with drones that I got from Amazon. 2 planes that broken pieces in the backyard to the crash in to drones that are MIA so I ordered the new and my mom tells me too be very careful with RC things that some of them are expensive.
Dang man. I know it has been decades for me personally and never did electrics (they didn't really exist back then), but I think common common items in about every flight box were basic tools and props (I broke a few with nose first landings 😁). Of course those were mostly wooden ones and the nylon ones were more resilient . You will have it back in the air ASAP & I bet you order more than one prop.
No, definitely not. That is really expensive for this plane. If you are willing to spend ~$300 + on a RTF, there are a lot more that will perform way better 😁👍 Just send us a new comment on any video if you want recommendations. If you respond here, YT won't notify us 🙄 Thanks for watching! 😎⚓
While the price is reasonable for this airplane, I would highly recommend going for the Valiant instead. Only a few bucks more for a much higher quality plane.
Aww that happens. I was teaching my grandson how to fly his park flyer and it went out of range and Flew AWAY like a Majestic Bird. We never saw it again
Looked like the airplane yawed hard left just before dropping to the runway, struck the left gear first, bounced back into the air while rolling to the right, dragged the right wingtip, and fortunately ran out of energy before the situation developed into a cartwheel. In full-scale aircraft, a sequence like that would suggest things like errant/exaggerated control inputs (e.g. flaring too high, accidentally applying left rudder, panic application of hard right aileron instead of right rudder) or a sudden gusty left crosswind holding up the airplane and encouraging it to weathervane, but also getting underneath the upwind wing and lifting it (causing the airplane to roll in the downwind direction) when the pilot forgets about holding that wing down. On a lighter note... Clearly Nate’s bucket list looks like: 1a. Snap-roll a 3D aerobat 1b. Snap-roll a warbird 1c. Snap-roll a turbine jet 1d. Snap-roll a general aviation trainer 1e. Snap-roll an airliner 1f. Snap-roll a Wright Flyer 1g. Snap-roll Snoopy’s doghouse 1h. Snap-roll an ornithopter 1i. Snap-crackle-roll a Rice Crispy treat 1j. Oh snap... 2. (Everything that doesn’t involve a snap-roll)... 😉
My supporters are those people that cannot fix their own snow blower or lawn mowers. I am going to order 2 spare props for my FMS 182. I just cannot get myself to order planes from Banggood, not with how I receive most stuff in grey garbage bags. No way.
Hi, long time subscriber first comment, I just ordered the FMS sky trainer RTF version of this plane, it will be my first RC Plane, its my understanding that its the same as the one your flying with just few different parts. Do you think it will make for a decent first plane or did I make a mistake?

Hey man if I can’t find this rtf I can only find pnp which means I think I need battery and transmitter and receiver and charger. Which ones do you recommend ? And if it’s good for a beginner
Thanks for these reviews. I bought this on Black Friday for $99 with free shipping and bought 2 extra props. Hope to maiden her soon.
I bought my first 6 string at the 5 and dime! LOL $99 bucks is a great price!

Been 2 years, . This model is timeless, .I doubt they will stop production. Some one has had this for 15 + years.
The Banana Hobby BlitzRCWorks Red Sky Trainer N9258 is the exact same plane on sale for $99.90 I bought it a year ago for $129 Almost half the price.
Are 3guys going to be in Oshkosh this year or next? My son and would like to say Hi and mabe buy a plane.
I have that same exact plane, Nate. Bought mine from Banana hobby as an rtf for $125. Great deal!!
Same here. They are on sale for $99.90 right now
Awww.... oh well! Poop happens! I have that same exact plane. I bought it over a year ago from FMS. Its my everyday and windy day flier. I might even buy a second one from your link! That is a Great deal!
There’s a difference between buying or installing spare parts !
And Buying the Right Part!
.
How much its take off weight?
.
Product linked in our video description box 😁 Weight and other specs are all available there 👍😎⚓
Tsk, tsk, Nathan!
More props on the way 😁👍😎⚓
btw, that “crash” was just a broken prop from an errant gust. If I had half the flying skills as you, I’d be about 10 times as good as I am!
Besides the crash, awesome flight Nate!! 😊
It looks like a pretty solid flyer, How do you like this compared to the Eflite Valiant for only $199 with Rx? Just curious on your opinion!
@@TheRcSaylors Ah, for $130 that's a great bargain!
Hey guys. I have an honest question. I have bought the super cub. Out of the box it went in a slight downward spiral to the left. Then i tried to fix it via adjustment on the controller and it ended up crashing nose first. I understand the up and down of the controller and the left and right not including throttle. Please help
If you aren’t familiar with the controls, I would watch some videos on UA-cam! There are many instructional videos that helped when I started!
Hey RC, which Super Cub did you buy?
@@TheRcSaylors the super cub with safe
Any airplane that still looks like the airplane after a crash when you pick it up, is a good crash! Lol. 👍
Guy's PLEASE don't stop saying "if you have the the technology use it!!!"
Safe Select, saved my viper ad my weekend thanks. This is will be my mantra. If you have it use it!!😁😁😁😁💪💪
What's the difference between kit and pnp? New pilot, i do know the pnp is ready to fly just bind to your radio, really don't know what kit is for this model?
Kit just means you get the entire airplane, minus the electronics 😉😁👍😎⚓
pnp is plug and play.
182 is one of my favorites easy to learn The best of your abilities it was how I achieved 3 D flying Thanks it's been over 10 years
i always Velcro lipo plus a peace of foam in-between never have lipo movements
I always want to see you do more landings rather than the fancy aerial moves. Thx for your videos!
It is exactly FMS Cessna 182 V1
change the nose landing gear to V2 and the rudder servo to a metal one and if you wish add HobbyZone Cub S+ Vortex Generators 😀
p.s great channel thank you 👍👍👍
Is it a problem If I would crash it in grass? Is it very fragile?
I think its currently marketed in the states by FMS now packaged under the name Sky Trainer
This company Hook11 also makes a cool 1.2 meter Mustang that's cheap and on sale right now as well. Might pick one up myself.
Thanks again for your enjoyable videos! Sometimes you are in a roll and only good flights after each other and then boom! You just have a few really bad crashes and you feel bad. Anyway is a bad landing considered a crash or just a bad landing?
Nice landing there Nate 🤔🙄 Thanks for making me not feel so bad when it happens to me 😁😂🤣 I kid I kid
Nice plane love the rolls and just watching is gracefully glide along scale Today is my birthday so ya know what I'm going to be doing the rest of the day especially after watching you guys having a ball 🔥👍✌️
Love Cessna, beautiful plane . Gr8 review
Great crash! I'm just gluing a plane myself while I watch your video. Happy fixing. Bye guys.✈️🏴
This plane has exactly the shape and size of the FMS Cesna 182.
Has anyone ordered the kit version of this? If so what did you do for the motor and prop adapter? I accidentally ordered the kit version and I ordered a motor for it but all the prop adapters I have tried wont work. Contacted the seller and they were useless and couldnt give me an information. Could really use some help figuring this out
subliminal1284 I do not know but I would guess is you could sell it for some money and buy the rtf version.
@@SeleverRyan
I figured it out, this model is actually the FMS sky trainer 182 being sold under a different name. Just buy parts for the FMS sky trainer 182 and they will fit this model
I ordered this plane and it should be here today or tomorrow, gonna try to get it out on a maiden this week
That is awesome, and pretty fast shipping honestly! Happy Flying 👍😎⚓
Nice plane, it could have been worse, but great video guys 👍
Oh no and kinda early squad where you guys at happy flying all 😎😎😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Sorry that I'm so late tonight 👍⚓👍
Looks like a durable plane! And it is interesting that you use hot glue for repair. Since I started flying in 2008, I have only used CA, epoxy, welder's and gorilla glue to repair. But I have a ton of hot glue sticks for building Flite Test planes. Could y'all do a video on repairing planes with hot glue and toothpicks?
That's okay, nothing major damaged. It's all good.
@12:30 sooo no spare parts is what you're saying.
I just recently acquired the durafly goblin. Watched some others and it seems to torque to left. I stick a aura 5 in it. Being on ohio weather hasn't been decent but I'm legit nervous to fly it
How suitable is this for a beginner?
After watching the video I ordered one on banggood. I got a kit with a missing screw (front gear) and wrong propeller (not able to put it on since it's too thick). Banggood refused to send me the right parts.
Planes like helicopters parts cross over like the solo pro and V911. Your plane`s props might as well different manufactures will use same parts as far as the foam planes RIGHT ON tooth picks barb-b-que skewers hot glue the best. Few wood hold outs downing the foam if that had been a wood plane Donnie would say FORGET ABOUT IT..
Check out the HOOKLL F4U Corsair! It is based on a real plane based in SC, USA. I love it!
(So I got the 1400mm Cessna PNP, 2 props for it, plus the 2 props for the P-40, for around &150.00!)
Not the direction I’ve been heading in for the last year, (large/1600mm warbirds and big jets) but at $129.00 I couldn’t pass it up.
Is this the 1m wingspan version
Looks like pretty tough plane. Surprised it didn't break more than the prop~!
Can believe prop made it this long is good one.
Do you pick plane up to check cg
New prop, all good. When i crash i need a broom and dust pan. Lol. Leftover parts make for a good Frankenplane!
That happens when you fly crazy! getting the pilot drunk with sudden and horrible movements !!! 👍👍👍👍
Do you think this is worth $358 rtf? I saw one in ebay and am very interested
I just bought one a week ago from Banana Hobby for $109.91 shipped.
@@rv637 rtf?
@@phillyaccord5635 PNP version. Requires minimal assembly. I think the price is now 129.90 shipped. Still not bad.
@@rv637 yup but the receiver and controller it self costs like $168-$200 let alone a battery and a charger, so pnp planes easily reach $400-$500
Oh, sorry to hear that Chris! What plane was it!?
@@TheRcSaylors it was the Harbor freight 30$ yellow 2 ch .

You did say it was tough :D .. We did believe you... You didn't really have to show us :D
🤣😂
Always have a spare prop and another plane that uses same battery
Clearly Nate’s bucket list looks like:
1a. Snap-roll a 3D aerobat
1b. Snap-roll a warbird
1c. Snap-roll a turbine jet
1d. Snap-roll a general aviation trainer
1e. Snap-roll an airliner
1f. Snap-roll a Wright Flyer
1g. Snap-roll Snoopy’s doghouse
1h. Snap-roll an ornithopter
1i. Snap-crackle-roll a Rice Crispy treat
1j. Oh snap...
2. (Everything that doesn’t involve a snap-roll)...
😉
That plane looks like my FMS 182 Just different colors
When you fly a lot it will happen. Think about the percentages. Super low crash percentage for sure!
Awesome 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎 ❤️ that airplane great job Nate and Abby 😎👍
Always get two props. I learned that the hard way.
8:45 that was impressive!😳
My supporters are those people that cannot fix their own snow blower or lawn mowers. I am going to order 2 spare props for my FMS 182. I just cannot get myself to order planes from Banggood, not with how I receive most stuff in grey garbage bags. No way.
Cessna makes an airplane that is aerobatic. It is the Cessna 152 Aerobat.
If you're going two blade ger one that's one or two inches larger since you "lose" one blade.
Hi, long time subscriber first comment, I just ordered the FMS sky trainer RTF version of this plane, it will be my first RC Plane, its my understanding that its the same as the one your flying with just few different parts. Do you think it will make for a decent first plane or did I make a mistake?
