The primer is not factory. I did some reading and some dudes like them just to cut down on pulling the engine over after it sits to fill the carb bowl and such. It really does help pull fuel into the carb too. I mainly left it there just because I didn't have a long enough section of line to make it happen when I was getting it running again.
its a AC , you see it loading up with fuel, its only a single carb, clean that thing! let the track rip off the ground, clean out the water in that carb, then idle.( most important make sure your front skis are clean!! thats why the beginning of this video is slow. ALSO with that 340 fan you should have ripped that sled leaning way back to break that trail, it should float! your in 12" of snow!!! 24" in a drift your making that sled look bad.
i paused at 4 mins for this prev comment, just after five mins i seen a nice house, a beatiuful garage and when ya get inside that, everything is broken...7 mins in...is he a dentist? before 8 mins high idle lil rough even after new plugs, so id say clogged jet or water in fuel...8:46 COM" ON OPEN HER UP SHES 2 STROKE...906 YEA hold the throttle tho, clean her out..10 mins in i look as the info on the video, yea change the gas. rule one of summerizing drain that fuel, in fall/winter fresh rec fuel to clean her out and keep her going. NO hate iv been though this, the zr500 is the worst, not because of the motor or cooling but because of all the electronics. but id say overall fix your stuff and fresh fuel before hitting any trails bud. you will be stranded with a cat
It’s called TSS. Throttle Safety Switch. In case throttle sticks kills the spark. Sometimes have to push throttle closed to keep from stalling. Can unplug on some models to disable. Is Plugs should be NGK BR9EYA stock #7548
Check out the revival video for the Puma here: I got a FREE Snowmobile! WILL IT RUN?

Unhook, the throttle safety switch and uh, it will work a lot better.
Does the Cat need a primer bulb? I’ve never seen one before, but I’ve never had that old of a snowmachine. I have two 1998 ZR600 carb Cats.

you have a bad kill switch
You think that’s why it’s cutting out? I know the kill switch kills when it’s supposed to, but I guess it could be killing when it’s not supposed to.
