    No other video honors Loretta Lynn better than a video honoring Allis Chalmers and a good woman. She will be missed.

    My exbrotherinlaw still has his 6070 and to this day all the parts are still original and still all work , every gauge and light are all original and working. They were certainly one of the best tractors ever built

    I worked part-time for an Allis dealer and attended product training at the ranch in 1984 or 1985. I think it was sales training on the new corn planter. Somewhere I have a diploma signed by Moony Lynn.

    Loretta Lynn was one of the very few customers who had other means of income to afford new tractors during that time. Old money and owning land clear and free was the only other way to flip the bill for new machinery in the 80’s.

      I think Loretta Lynn got to use most of the Allis equipment for free in trade for her promoting the brand.

      Loretta was given all those tractors for free to use. They would use the tractors for everyday farming operations, and factory reps would stop by every so often and analyze them. They also did some prototype testing at the ranch. In exchange Loretta did commercials and other AC advertising for free. I knew Mooney.

    I just pulled my dad old ca allis chalmers out of the shop yesterday to pressure wash and see what its gonna take to have it ready for the local tractor show and pull first time the tractor moved since dad drove it the shop to park it over 15years ago. Its since seize up from setting and i had to pull it out with dads first tractor his ford 59 801 powermaster he bought the day before i was born mom she remembers him stopping and asking the man if hed sale it and he test drove it around the mans field in a 2 piece black suit from were they was coming home from church and he spotted the tractor and stopped then he bought it that day and i was born the next and he made my mom wait for him to finish washing it before he took her to have me back in 1993 dad a few years later got the ca allischalmers givin to him and just got put on back burner but he always wanted to rake both to the tractor show but it just never worked out like that and last August he was diagnosed with ALS and has rapidly worsened so i figured I'd make it a point to fix the 1951 CA and get it back running by august. my dad once a very active man and the hardest worker i Know my bestfriend and even better father cant do to much of anything physical any more so i figured while hes still here i would make it my mission to fix it and enter both tractors in the show and maybe make a pull with the ca i want to show my dads tractor with him while i can and hopefully he'll be up to driving his favorite the ford powermaster in the parade while i tail him on his other tractor 20yrs removed from the last time he took a tractor and i was a just a kid ridding on my daddys tractor then now now im a grown man and hope to drive one of dads tractors with him and i think its neat if it works out i hope to make things full circle and get the dads CA back running in time its and hope he can get some joy from it while he can and be able to show off his two tractors

      I don't know if that was good or bad, Mooney and his kids were extremely hard on equipment. They were given the stuff for free and just didn't care for the most part. They tear up a tractor and AC would just bring them another one.

    In nearly every pic you see of Doolittle "Mooney" Lynn he is wearing an AC hat.
    AC comes out and films at his farm and part of the time he is wearing a fertilizer hat.
    Go figure.
    My wife's grandfather was buried wearing an A/C hat. They made sure he had a pair of pliers in his overalls as well.

      The Lynn Ranch was doing Allis a favor not the other way around. They were already wealthy.
      A friend and neighbor of mine was killed when he was 19. He was a gear head a new truck diesel mechanic and he loved it. We argued tractors all the time on the school bus to the point they we'd be half mad at each other. We weren't best friends but we did deer hunt a little together. He was buried with a Visegrips in his hand.

    This was right before the end wasn't it?
    The AC orange would become Deutz Allis green soon.
    I don't understand why Agco quit making orange tractors.
    Most of their current brands don't mean anything to Americans.
    They own some of the most respected brand names in farm machinery but don't use them.
    Strange.
    Massey Ferguson and Gleaner are the 2 brands they have with any kind of history in the US.
    MF is British but has been here forever.
    Challenger means very little now that is is no longer associated with Cat.
    Fendt and Valtra mean nothing to me. I have never seen one in the field.
    They should have kept Agco- Allis as a brand.

    • @mattmork2970
      @mattmork2970 4 роки тому +3

      It's the current ceo. Richenhagen. He was a German flooring salesman, then after Ratliffe retired, he became CEO and phased out orange tractors because he wants nothing to do with American brands, he is trying to push European brands onto the north American Market. Massey's and challengers are just Fendts repainted. There is an internal war in Agco over the Gleaner combine. It is Agcos most successful north american product, but he is trying to push the Fendt ideal, a combine plagued with engineering disasters. He has an axe to grind with Helmut Class, a long running feud is between them, so he plans to kill Claas in the combine market with an engineering failure that may bankrupt the company due the all the money poured into it and the few combines that they sell.

    • @Zero01k
      @Zero01k 3 роки тому +2

      Massey and Challenger tractors were never repainted Fendts, not once, just a repainted typical Agco tractor. As far as seeing a Valtra or a Fendt in the field, there are plenty if you look close enough. We use to be a Valtra dealer before Agco bought them just for the Sisu engine and killed the US dealer network for Valtra. Not a big fan of Agco, they killed a very reliable brand of tractors, which we still run Valtras on our farm. Challenger will always be a joke and it's good to see them finally put a end to the joke.

    We had a 6080 The front half was American all connections were in American sizes. The back half was Fiat and all bolts a fittings metric The little 4 cylinder engine was out of a combine that had to work hard to make the 83hp it was claimed to be. And people wonder why they're out of business.

    • @SilverGleaner
      @SilverGleaner 4 роки тому +3

      The 6080 is a beloved tractor and a fuel miser and it had the most torque rise in it's class. That 83 hp tractor could outwork a 4020. There are still some in our area with many thousands of hours and still doing their thing.
