For the last 3 days this song has been playing over and over in my mind. It has brought me a lot of peace in the midst of challenges. I have asked dozens of people to help me identify the composer, and finally tonight in a Zoom chat someone gave me this link. I am aware it is a message to me to "just flow" with pure love. What is it about this music that is so special?
Paul de Senneville is the composer!!! In 1976, he was invited by Olivier Toussaint, a French record producer, and his partner Paul de Senneville, to record a gentle piano ballad. De Senneville had composed this ballad as a tribute to his baby daughter, Adeline. The 23-year-old Pagès was auditioned along with 20 other pianists and got the job. "He was an interesting musician with a soft touch and good technique", said Toussaint. "And he looked good, too".
It’s October 9, 2023. I’m listening to this piece for the 10th time since this morning. My favorite pianist of all time! My closest grandpa died 2 days ago, he was in the hospital for like 4 days before the tragedy, and my heart broke so bad when I noticed that on his phone on spotify this was the last song he was listening, and it is so beautiful and I just wish to tell him how good this music is and just listen to it along with him. I can't express how sad I am right now just imagining him listening to this music in the hospital alone while being scared and suffering, he was like a close friend and now he's gone, sounds weird that me a 23 years old man was a close friend with his 69 years old grandpa, but we were and we really enjoyed seeing each other, he was such a good person and even he used to tell the others that I was like a friend for him and not just a grandson. I'll listen to this song till my last day of existence and I think I'll cry everytime I hear it. I comment this here because even tho we both knew how much we loved each other, I still have the feeling that I need to tell him one more time. Please if you really love your grandparents, go tell them right now and make sure they remember it for ever, share everything with them and make sure they never feel uncomfortable with you.
No it is not weird that you where friends with your grandpa me my self I had the same relationship with mine but he died when I was abt 14 I'm 32 now and I still carry the pain with me not only from his death but from many more the point is this song also brings alot of memories to me stay strong carnal rip to your grandpa

This was my grandfather's favourite piece, my mum told me when him and my grandma were about to reach their golden wedding, 50 years married, and as a gift for them I made a video using this song and lots of old photos that my mum sent me, and I arranged the video in a way that it functioned as a story of my family. It started from my grandparents as kids, how they grew up and met each other, how they raised their kids, and how those kids grew into adults and eventually gave life to me and my cousins, raising us into adults and taking this vital journey to the point where we are nowadays. I will never forget the first time I showed my family the video, no one wanted to see it until we were all together celebrating my grandpas' golden wedding, and as the video played, I could see my mum, my uncle, my aunt, my grandma, and my grandpa crying as they remembered the things that made my family be what it is today. Sadly my grandpa passed away a couple years ago at the age of 80, due to a pneumonia that his body couldn't beat. Now I use this song as a way to give myself some relieve that although he is no longer with me, he made such a wonderful job at the game of life, starting as a little kid and getting to the end being the father of all my family.

For me it's the same. My mum has passed away on 2021, 11th of June, and she loved this composer and pianist. When I listen to him I close my eyes and I can see her face so happy enjoying the music..... I miss her so much. I hope that they are all dancing above in the sky.

I started listening to Richard when I was like 4 years old. My grandfather had some records and as they tell me, I loved it. Then they started buying me lot of records. This was around 1980. Now I'm 46 and this music is a hug for my soul, makes me cry of emotion.
Whenever I go to my grandparents house, they’re always playing background music on the tv that i never recognize. The other day I was listening to the beauty of this piece. Then the next day I was at my grandparents house. I hear something that sounds just like this piece and I look up at the tv and it reads indeed “ballade pour adeline”. I started my piano experience with the Clayderman books, beside of the Beyer (the starter book for pianists). When i was no good to read music, I decoded the music of Clayderman note by note, haha. But I succeded! Today, after years and years, I still playing his music and I want thanks to this great artist.

I overheard this song being played outside a music store in Sevilla, Spain in 1977, and bought a record then. I kept playing it over and over again. It inspired me enough to take piano lessons when I was in Japan. Never got good at it though. I still love the music.

I started listening to Richard when I was like 4 years old. My grandfather had some records and as they tell me, I loved it. Then they started buying me lot of records. This was around 1980. Now I'm 46 and this music is a hug for my soul, makes me cry of emotion.

Whenever I go to my grandparents house, they’re always playing background music on the tv that i never recognize.
The other day I was listening to the beauty of this piece. Then the next day I was at my grandparents house. I hear something that sounds just like this piece and I look up at the tv and it reads indeed “ballade pour adeline”. Thank you for your music that plays in the homes of multiple generations :)

I started my piano experience with the Clayderman books, beside of the Beyer (the starter book for pianists). When i was no good to read music, I decoded the music of Clayderman note by note, haha. But I succeded! Today, after years and years, I still playing his music and I want thanks to this great artist.
My beloved father would sit by his cassette player to listen to your beautiful music, Mr. Clayderman. Thank you for giving him so many hours of happiness. Hearing your music again brings back those lovely memories for me.
