As an American Musician I have to say the english dub version of this anime was one of the most inspirational things I have ever seen. It reminded me why I wanted to become a Musician in the first place and why I love what I do despite the struggles. Thank you Funimation for dubbing this anime it really brought it to a perspective that I can enjoy and get the message. I normally am a Subbed kinda guy but this show need to be Dubbed. It wouldn't have the same weight if we read all of it.
It's great that singers could do voiceover work for anime. Picture casting a Voice actor who can also sing? I bet they can't all sing and singers can't all voice act well. So it's pretty nice :)
I just binge watched the entire anime again for the first time in 7 years and I feel exactly the same way. Almost teared up hearing this for the final time.
I agree. This anime revitalized my love in rock and got me to get past all of the downings and hate I recieved at school when it came to my drum playing. Because of this show, I joined my church's contemporary band and practiced a bunch, through them and on my own. I now can play a bunch of different style's and am finally confident and proud in what I can play.
At 22 going on to 23 I remember watching this anime when I was younger. Now sitting here it's crazy how this song can perfectly describe what I've been going through. Whatever you're going through fight through it and be at peace with yourself and who you are that's when real healing will happen.
This song is really fucking good. Doesn't sound like anything you'd normally get from an anime. It sounds like it could've been a hit from the 90's. I wish Beck was real. I want to see a live version of this lol
I marathoned Beck in 2 days the first time I watched it. I was the only person in my house who liked anime. By the end of of the series all 3 of my room mates were watching it with me and we were all on the edge of our seats as the Grateful Sound music festival blew our minds.
Recently just watched this on funimation and this song and moon on the water won’t leave my head. I don’t know what it is about these songs, but they’re just so inspiring that I actually want to learn music.
Everyone praises the characters, but nobody actually gives the praise the insanely talented real musicians that made these amazing songs. Cause the songs in the manga didn't have lyrics or anything to go off. So they literally had to write these songs from scratch.
@@KhiddSensation 10-feet, you can look up the soundtrack "Keith" for all the original band versions. Though for some of them, especially this song, I prefer Kazuya Hirabayashi's singing (Japanese dub, guitarist from Husking Bee)
Missed out on something in the anime. Koyuki had no idea where to go with lyrics for the melody, and Mr. Saitou heard the song and wrote about getting a circumcision for Momoko after they officially start dating. Koyuki used that as the base for his own lyrics.
if this was a real band back in the 90's it be among the greats like nirvana, pearl jam, the foo fighters, alice in chains and the rest of them. this song would've been a great hit to be remembered.
Well, I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared to death And I'm scared to keep on going on my way Well, I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared to death And I'll tell myself I'm special till the end!!!!!!!
i was watching funamation channel and the first second i saw of this show i knew i'd love it, and i do, ive only see one episode and i love this song! i wish they were a real band
@EddieWouldG0 Yes and no. The lyrics Beck ended up using are based on the one Saito wrote, but aren't the same word for word. They used them as the inspiration for what became Slip Out. Well thats my understanding of it anyway, so i could be wrong.
I think it has to do with the second bridge. In the japanese version, the singer changes how the bridge is sung the second time where in the american version Greg didn't. The american version could have also sounded more refined than the gritty japanese version too.
Given that it's seven years old, it's not a surprise that the link in the description is broken but... I don't suppose anyone else has one? I'd even be happy to buy it if I knew where to go
@themexican1990 a second season wouldnt work .. the prudence trouble is over .. they got the band back together and are already touring .. what would the second season be .. and they are making a live action movie already
Da de que pensar que una canción de una banda ficticia le pegue una autentica patada en el culo a la supuesta mejor música actual. No quiero vivir en este planeta ni un segundo mas.
I agree, maybe the original has grammar errors, but its a lot better, i even like a lot more the original lyrics (from slip out, not from little more than before)
@ backpain100 This is an epic anime, one of my favorites, mainly for the music and story of an up incoming band. I agree with everything you've said, especially since this could/has gotten to non-anime fans,
this is just a matter of what voice your ears are used to, for those who listened to the japanese version.. they'l like the japanese version better, for those who listened to the englsh version' sgonna like the english vversion better.....and for me... HELL THE ENGLISH ONE lol, atleast he can speak
@bloodylitte16 not really anyone's place but for the original author; guess all you have to do is cite the original author of the lyrics - think it was "10 feet" or something

I hope you're doing great! Keep it up!
I'm a sub and dub kinda guy
Agreed, this anime changed my life
The manga is amazing to kinda a bit long but worth it for a read ! Just saying
The way they ended Beck makes them evil geniuses. I cant listen to this without getting the feels.
I just binge watched the entire anime again for the first time in 7 years and I feel exactly the same way. Almost teared up hearing this for the final time.
+Harry Weir same, now i have the feeling that the next anime i watch is unworthy of watching.
+Jay King I just finished watching this anime and came here to listen to this song for filling the void. Dem feels! T___T
Watched it for the first time 2020. No regrets.
“Thanks for saving Beck”
Man this anime helped me alot when I was a lonely kid.

´´Sorrow is what I hate but it's grown my sensations
Regrets taught me how to make any hard decisions´´ most relatable lyrics ever
fr tho
i love how kurt cobain is a major influence of this anime.
I wish the anime had a second season
You can always read the manga :)

This in one of the only anime that I would argue is better in the dub than sub.
Man I’d pay 100$ to have this album in English dub.
2020 and this anime still got chills going down my spine

I very rarely listen to dubs, but this dub is one of the best, both by show and music.
I marathoned Beck in 2 days the first time I watched it. I was the only person in my house who liked anime. By the end of of the series all 3 of my room mates were watching it with me and we were all on the edge of our seats as the Grateful Sound music festival blew our minds.

Not gonna lie the dub voice of this anime is nothing but legendary
I remember watching this back in like 08
on UA-cam love how all the songs never got took down by UA-cam after all this time
i love how this feels like a 90s track. very sound garden. damn such a good anime.
their real songs from real bands
Oh really then what band is this from
@@KhiddSensation 10-feet, you can look up the soundtrack "Keith" for all the original band versions. Though for some of them, especially this song, I prefer Kazuya Hirabayashi's singing (Japanese dub, guitarist from Husking Bee)
Always gotta love coming back to these awesome songs, gives me strength to keep going forward.
GREG AYRES = SHEER AWESOMENESS!!!!! I must meet this guy
Still listening to this jam in 2022 and 2023
This song. Dam this song is so beautiful
Just discovered this anime and man what a experience.
This song especially puts me at ease... it warms me to hear motivational and emotional punk rock music.
Still listening in 2023.
Still my all time favorite anime.
I would pay alot of money for green day to do a cover of this song. This remindes me of them so much! love it!
2020 This song saved my life again
Reckless Gaming as it always does

I've given this song at least half it's views.
if this was a real band back in the 90's it be among the greats like nirvana, pearl jam, the foo fighters, alice in chains and the rest of them. this song would've been a great hit to be remembered.
there's a petition to make the second season...but it's only a hope!
Kinda funny how people dont even read the thing before asking eh? haha thanks for the upload
Well, I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared to death
And I'm scared to keep on going on my way
Well, I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared,I'm scared to death
And I'll tell myself I'm special till the end!!!!!!!
thanks for the album. great anime and great songs has that feeling. end with eddy's quote. u know what it is.
if i ever make millions of dollars am going to give to the creators of this show to tell them bring out season 2,3,4 and so on
This song in English dub is sung by the same VA for Koji Kota at MHA.
Also Nishinoya from Haikyuu
“I don’t practice Santeria, I ain’t got no crystal ball…”
Funimation put up like three episodes in dub on their we should try and get them to put up the rest that would be awesome

i was watching funamation channel and the first second i saw of this show i knew i'd love it, and i do, ive only see one episode and i love this song! i wish they were a real band
The chorus was fucking strong, love it
i've read your comment 40 time ago , and everytime i read your comment i have faith in humanity (sorry if there's any mistakes in my ebglish)
that piece was the weak you. you are now stronger
I can't belive they couldn't make a season 2
Beck must be the greatest dubbed anime of all time...
There should be a "love it" button. I'd press it so many times

ずっとここにいるよ。
Haven't heard this version in a while. I can see the difference from the subbed version, and subbed is more energizing.
That's just your opinion
Yeah, pretty much
this song really touches me deep :'( makes me wanna cry
The only time I accept Greg Ayres in a main role now.
Listening in 2018 🤟🏽🤘🏽
can't we request to make another season cause it's so short
Woof

@SuperFrostyS I feel so awesome that I actually know Greg :)
It's just too good.
I think it has to do with the second bridge. In the japanese version, the singer changes how the bridge is sung the second time where in the american version Greg didn't. The american version could have also sounded more refined than the gritty japanese version too.

@themexican1990 a second season wouldnt work .. the prudence trouble is over .. they got the band back together and are already touring .. what would the second season be .. and they are making a live action movie already
this english dubbed version is grammatically correct
makes me cry :')
@Zerixkun perhaps there is more "emotion" (which I do not think is true), but I couldn't make up a single word the Japanese singer was singing.
solid
Awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmme :D great voice too!
I can't find this song in good quality anywhere and it makes me sad. o_o
Greg Ayres is so cool in real life :0
@TheAlyward about the hardships in America and relationships between members

I agree, maybe the original has grammar errors, but its a lot better, i even like a lot more the original lyrics (from slip out, not from little more than before)
they should add the entire soundtrack to Rock Band =), i know many ppl would fucking love that!!!!
no most of the songs are made by beat crusaders like moon on he water and my world down i think
@ backpain100 This is an epic anime, one of my favorites, mainly for the music and story of an up incoming band. I agree with everything you've said, especially since this could/has gotten to non-anime fans,
feels different but its good still :D
idk both of them have that little something extra and something different about them..id say they were just as good just different

@bloodylitte16 not really anyone's place but for the original author; guess all you have to do is cite the original author of the lyrics - think it was "10 feet" or something
