As an American Musician I have to say the english dub version of this anime was one of the most inspirational things I have ever seen. It reminded me why I wanted to become a Musician in the first place and why I love what I do despite the struggles. Thank you Funimation for dubbing this anime it really brought it to a perspective that I can enjoy and get the message. I normally am a Subbed kinda guy but this show need to be Dubbed. It wouldn't have the same weight if we read all of it.
It's great that singers could do voiceover work for anime. Picture casting a Voice actor who can also sing? I bet they can't all sing and singers can't all voice act well. So it's pretty nice :)
Greg Ayres did such an amazing job with this role. I know you're supposed to acknowledge the original language track and all, but the dub of this song is just awesome.
I've been listening to this song since I was 12-13. Im now 22, and this song just seems to always slip its way back into my ear canals and fill me up with an emotion I just can't describe. Can't complain though, I love this song to death and I wish Spotify had the full album up.
I agree. This anime revitalized my love in rock and got me to get past all of the downings and hate I recieved at school when it came to my drum playing. Because of this show, I joined my church's contemporary band and practiced a bunch, through them and on my own. I now can play a bunch of different style's and am finally confident and proud in what I can play.
I just binge watched the entire anime again for the first time in 7 years and I feel exactly the same way. Almost teared up hearing this for the final time.
At 22 going on to 23 I remember watching this anime when I was younger. Now sitting here it's crazy how this song can perfectly describe what I've been going through. Whatever you're going through fight through it and be at peace with yourself and who you are that's when real healing will happen.
Still my favorite anime ever. Can we get he same cast in on re-making it, and re-releasing it for todays viewers please! I bet if it aired today it would totally get a full adaptation for the entire manga
If I remember correctly the tour actually came before the festival, but it's been long enough that I might be wrong, but the tour was definitely a significant portion of the manga for sure, the anime also cut out a lot of the big hero moments during the festival such as Mark and his helicopter, also I think his name was Matt in the manga
I just finished the english dub of beck and i must say it ROCKED!!! i loved every minute of it and the songs they dubbed were fantastic!!! its gotta be one of my all time favorites now! super kudos to greg, brina, and the others!!!
The first time I saw Beck, it was the final 6 episodes of the series. Starting with when Ryuske was helping write Slip Out to when the ending credits was Slip Out in the final episode. I have to say, this song may have saved my life at 16 years old. I felt the same way Koyuki did at the beginning of the series; Nothing to look forward to during the day, felt I was at my rope's end. 5 years later, I keep this song playing as a reminder that there is always something to look forward to.
This song is really fucking good. Doesn't sound like anything you'd normally get from an anime. It sounds like it could've been a hit from the 90's. I wish Beck was real. I want to see a live version of this lol
Recently just watched this on funimation and this song and moon on the water won’t leave my head. I don’t know what it is about these songs, but they’re just so inspiring that I actually want to learn music.
I marathoned Beck in 2 days the first time I watched it. I was the only person in my house who liked anime. By the end of of the series all 3 of my room mates were watching it with me and we were all on the edge of our seats as the Grateful Sound music festival blew our minds.
I bought every single DVD volume of Beck when I was 13/14 and over the weekend I took them all out and binge watched the entire show again. Hearing this for the final time almost made me tear up. Not just because it's a great song and not just for the nostalgia value but because you know this is the end. It's a beautiful song to end the anime on. (Fortunately, the manga continues for a while after this point.)
every time i watch the anime it makes me so depressed that they didn't continue. After reading the manga it would've been so great to see all of it happen in action especially all the new songs that they made in the manga.
@Rodrick Young yeah a lot has changed in the last 3 years since I posted that comment. Still, I want a complete adaption bc the series deserves that much (but beat crusaders broke up a long time ago too)
I have a great love for music and anything related, so this anime and story has really touched my heart. It's been 6 years and i'm still in love with this series and nothing compares to it.
Everyone praises the characters, but nobody actually gives the praise the insanely talented real musicians that made these amazing songs. Cause the songs in the manga didn't have lyrics or anything to go off. So they literally had to write these songs from scratch.
Wanted to buy soundtrack but they sold it in Japanese. However, I love Greg Ayers voice, especially in slip out. I’m glad I took a chance and finally rented it over twenty years ago. It’s a special place in my anime collection👍🏿❤️😎
We feel you dude, in different ways we've all had unfortunate happenings in our lives. Music has helped me a lot through all the crap in my life and this song is one of my favourites to turn to (that and recently a lot of Foo Fighters... again after taking a break from them)
Man I hear you loud and clear, believe it or not this show got me to do something with myself and on the days that I get to feeling low again I watch it all over again and I start writing again, these writers have saved my life and I thank them. Koyuki taught me to sing and I'll thank Greg Ayers for giving me that voice.
@@KhiddSensation 10-feet, you can look up the soundtrack "Keith" for all the original band versions. Though for some of them, especially this song, I prefer Kazuya Hirabayashi's singing (Japanese dub, guitarist from Husking Bee)
Telecasters are awesome. Yeah I know thats what I loved about it, a lot of other shows have the guitars poorly animated but with Beck it was great, they went into so much detail with them and the playing.
:,) Always gets me a bit teary :,) I sing it while standing do it nothing, hum it while doing work in class, sing it while i`m walking in the hallways and sing it on my way home.People might think i`m weird or talking to myself but i don`t care, the compassion in this song is great enough for me to want to sing it anywhere, great song and GREAT upload,it`s perfect.Beck
What an awesome song. The dubbing is exquisite. And the Japanese version is great as well. Beck is definately one of my all time favorite shows. It's amazing :]
The budget for this anime was almost nonexistent and when you watch it shows in the animation, but despite that it’s still one of my favorites and with an opening like “Hit in America” and songs composed with help from The Pillows it also Rocks!!!
Damn,I love having this song on while reading the manga. It's just too damn awesome. I like the Japanese one for his voice and Grey Ayres' version of it for his proper pronunciation.
of all the beck songs, with koyuki singing, this one sounds the best in english.i prefer the other koyuki songs in japanese, even with the broken english, but this particular song just flows better lyricly in english. thanx for the download link btw.

The manga is amazing to kinda a bit long but worth it for a read ! Just saying

The way they ended Beck makes them evil geniuses. I cant listen to this without getting the feels.

+Harry Weir same, now i have the feeling that the next anime i watch is unworthy of watching.

Watched it for the first time 2020. No regrets.
“Thanks for saving Beck”
If deep down in your heart, you're not crying while listening to this song. You haven't watch Beck yet.
i'm singing along, not crying~
I can’t listen to any of the soundtrack without crying lmao
watching their live performance of this during Greatful sound really brings out the feels~
I related hard first time watching the show. And listening to song describe reminds me of my teen

Who else loves singing this fucken song?!?!

Oh
Even after all these years, I still come back to listen to this amazing song
It's kind of funny how a song from an anime can give me so many chills.
Cause the anime (and especially the manga) itself contains so many chills and goosebumps
It's an amazing song
´´Sorrow is what I hate but it's grown my sensations
Regrets taught me how to make any hard decisions´´ most relatable lyrics ever
fr tho
I wish the anime had a second season
You can always read the manga :)

I want a season 2 to got where the manga stopped I know they went on tour in USA if I remember ending of anime correctly
Grim6081 yeah, they toured the USA, the end of Beck was when Koyuki was telling Maho about it. I NEED MORE OF THIS SHOW!
Yea I'm sure the manga has more on tour
If I remember correctly the tour actually came before the festival, but it's been long enough that I might be wrong, but the tour was definitely a significant portion of the manga for sure, the anime also cut out a lot of the big hero moments during the festival such as Mark and his helicopter, also I think his name was Matt in the manga

I don't care what anybody say or how they look at me when I say this is my favorite anime of all time this is one of my favorite songs
I very rarely listen to dubs, but this dub is one of the best, both by show and music.

2008 and I’m still here
I listen to this song a lot.
I remember watching this back in like 08
on UA-cam love how all the songs never got took down by UA-cam after all this time
Funimation did a great job in finding Greg Ayers to play Koyuki and sing the songs too.
