As a Christian with a long love of hard rock and a burgeoning love of metal, this was awesome. Skillet's got some real bangers, and I really like many of the songs on this list.
Love this! We have been hoping to see Skillet here!! Wally, you nailed it: Skillet's credibility and witness are amazing. God bless you all! Thank you for all you do.
I played in a band with John Cooper in the actual 80s, so I know for a fact that he knows his 80s bands. His favorite was Skid Row (like he said in this video), but he was also into more prog stuff like Kansas, Yes, and Kings X.
I love that John was into Kansas and Yes!!! I saw both bands live in concert several years ago in an amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL! Although Kansas was the warmup band, they still rocked just as good as Yes! I'll never forget it! WOOO HOOOO!!! 👍👍👍
@@BigAlvideos101 John joined my band in 1989 (aka the 80s) and he was 14. The math works. We were a band from 89’ until late 94/ early 95. Skillet was formed just after that.
I love these guys! I've seen them multiple times at Winter Jam. It's great that I can let my kids hear rock and not have to worry about the lyrics. Rock on!!
Um, this just made me so happy and may have actually watched this video while simultaneously adding some of these songs to my Spotify playlist as they were being played... 🤣
I don't follow bands with great depth, but the only other band I know of where the drummer did vocals was Genesis (Phil Collins). Then, after a while, Phil went solo.
Hi my name is Kyle I am blind and I’ve been following y’all for over a decade now even when it was still total access and skillet is one of my favorite bands of all time would like to meet them in person also have y’all considered putting Joseph Rojas from Seventh Day Slumber on this channel yet? There another one of my favorite bands.
Skillet is awesome. I listen to them and Blameshift and Landsdowne. I came across Skillet while watching videos of the other two bands which I know the bass player and guitarists.
I'm a Christian and also like 80s hair metal bands this was awesome. Jon would have been wrong with Thin Lizzy, Brownsville Station sung Smokin in the boys room
Good episode. I'm NOT trolling but just for the record, Vivian Campbell did not play on that Whitesnake album. It was the amazing John Sykes. Viv, Steve Vai and Adrian Vandenberg were in White snake later but Sykes was the driving force behind this album.
My old band played some shows with skillet back in the day. Skillet has played with White snake and Ozzy. So can I brag that I have a white snake connection now? 😂
I LOVE CHRISTIAN ROCK AND METAL MORE THAN SECULAR. PRAISE GOD YOU GET TO WITNESS TO OTHER BANDS. I LOVE APOLOGETIX HOW THEY CHANGE THE LYRICS TO THE MUSIC SO I SING THAT VERSION.
This was good /fun until JOHN didn't know the ROCKIN SCORPS song!(Only 1 of their biggest hits) REALLY?!!! 🤨 LOL He kinda redeemed himself with RUSH 😉 Smokin in the Boyz Room (Motley Crue) is ACTUALLY a Remake
Hold up, so you go "Twisted Sister and Van Halen are not metal." (Which is oh so wrong) and then your go-to Metal band is AC/DC? That's... Interesting to say the least...
Not for nothing but I can easily beat both of them......hands down! Not only did I live the era I listen to nothing else in the era but metal. I'm not impressed for the fact that he said warrant for Poison!
This is all hair and glam. That ain't metal. You say 80's metal and I expect to hear some megadeth, slayer, metallica, black sabbath, dio, ozzy, etc. You know, actual real metal.
John Cooper is the only human being I know that has autotune naturally built into his voice.
Agreed.
What about T.Pain???
John got the Rush tune, that's all that matters. 1000 points right there.
Hahahaha
Agreed lol 😂
Love it! Jen was so cute trying to help John out 😂
Ha! More like cheating. #kidding
Yeah. It was so funny too.
LOVE you had all 4 members of Skillet on. So fun!
Thanks for watching!
As a Christian with a long love of hard rock and a burgeoning love of metal, this was awesome. Skillet's got some real bangers, and I really like many of the songs on this list.
Jen is just such a sweet, genuine person. Who is also insanely attractive.
Love this! We have been hoping to see Skillet here!! Wally, you nailed it: Skillet's credibility and witness are amazing. God bless you all! Thank you for all you do.

I have no idea how that would've been possible, as John Cooper would've been under 6 years old during most of the 80s, as he was born in 1975!
@@BigAlvideos101 John joined my band in 1989 (aka the 80s) and he was 14. The math works. We were a band from 89’ until late 94/ early 95. Skillet was formed just after that.
@@ErikStone1 Hold the phone- you're not talking about Seraph, are you?
@@BigAlvideos101 yep that’s us.
4:10 Anyone else hear those crazy high overtones in his voice?? Super crazy, I think it adds depth to his voice
I’ve seen Skillet several x’s. Excellent alway a great performance & show luv luv luv Skillet 2/27/23
John and Wally were like 2 kids at summer camp trying to sing the lyrics to Bon Jovi. Hilarious!
Ha! Accurate.
I love these guys! I've seen them multiple times at Winter Jam. It's great that I can let my kids hear rock and not have to worry about the lyrics. Rock on!!
So true!
Just saw Skillet at winter jam in Peoria. Wow. So fun to see this.
God Bless you for your songs For they have brought many back to God
I just went to the skillet concert in reading Pennsylvania it was actually amazing he's soooo sweet
Glad you enjoyed it! They're fun to watch!
Um, this just made me so happy and may have actually watched this video while simultaneously adding some of these songs to my Spotify playlist as they were being played... 🤣
Welcome to hair metal!
Wally teared up a little. . . that's why we love him! That was excellent.
Thanks for making us laugh and reminding us how old we are 😆
Ha!
I now want a Bad Medicine cover from Skillet 😳
The fact that “Tom Sawyer” was the song to get you in the band makes my heart happy 😆
It makes me SO happy to see all of Skillet in your studio!!
John sounds as good impromptu as he does rehearsed or recorded 😂
Darn! I wish there was more
That was amazing! Waited for this so long
i agree Jen Rocks. Any drummer that can sing as well i give big respect too.
I don't follow bands with great depth, but the only other band I know of where the drummer did vocals was Genesis (Phil Collins). Then, after a while, Phil went solo.
Such a fun video. I love watching Wally, so excited!
Like a kid in a candy store
Love this ep. Wally/Skillet forever!!!
i love you skillet
is it wrong that i want to hear Jen play Tom Sawyer now? love the video and love the interaction!
That would be awesome to see! Thanks for watching.
I love skillet! I was supposed to see them for winterjam but I was scheduled to work
I was so like John. Knew the riff and the lyrics…couldn’t think of the name or band. It sucks getting old!
I was really hoping to see some Christian metal or rock like Stryper, Whitecross, or maybe even Petra.

John and Wally sound good together when they sing! Time for Wally to be featured on the next skillet song lol 😆
YES!!!
@@WallyShow Go ahead and ask, maybe they'd actually let you in for the next album.
Petition for John to cover a Bon Jovi song asap
This is great
Skillet is awesome. I listen to them and Blameshift and Landsdowne. I came across Skillet while watching videos of the other two bands which I know the bass player and guitarists.

There is actually a Warrant song that opens with a "breathe out" intro, right after some tv white noise clip Song is Blind Faith :)
Good episode. I'm NOT trolling but just for the record, Vivian Campbell did not play on that Whitesnake album. It was the amazing John Sykes. Viv, Steve Vai and Adrian Vandenberg were in White snake later but Sykes was the driving force behind this album.
I love how much fun everybody had! On a side note, Jen is such a babe!
Is it bad that I knew all of these from the first note? Lol my playlist goes from Jeremy Camp to Dokken and Van Halen then to Sanctus Real
FALLEN IN LOVE - GOT ME ❤
take on Brent Smith of shinedown, that was so fun, love skillet
Even if Wally won, John is still the best for Skillet. Without John, Skillet wouldn't be Skillet anymore.
Loved the interview with Nikki Sixx!
Everyone needs a Jen Ledger in their life.
I’ll take both of you on in a competition with 80’s rock
My old band played some shows with skillet back in the day. Skillet has played with White snake and Ozzy. So can I brag that I have a white snake connection now? 😂
John got slayed…😫
I'm saddened I knew these. I was born in 90 but my mom loves the 80s hair metal 😅
Sounds like you've got a great mom!
Wally is such a goof. . . but he's our goof.
🤣
Sending love and prayers from the UK 🇬🇧

Goodness Jen ledger is so gorgeous.
You should challenge Ozzák from Czech from Comeback😆
Too funny!
The breath gave it away. Haha. Fun vid!!
Jen is definitely awesome

He's pretty awesome!
Wally likes the same music as me!
Then you've got some great musical taste!
@@WallyShow , thanks! I love 80s hair metal!
This was fun to watch, I think I could beat both of you, though!
You're on!
nice
Who’s that guy in front when he says “Iron Maiden?” Def not Bruce
That's it - I am claiming Wally as my cool uncle by adoption. Betty may weep from this comment I am not sorry LOL
YES! I want to see more skillet #PANHEADSUNITE
Who else has a fan crush on Jen? 😍
This was good /fun until JOHN didn't know the ROCKIN SCORPS song!(Only 1 of their biggest hits) REALLY?!!! 🤨 LOL
He kinda redeemed himself with RUSH 😉 Smokin in the Boyz Room (Motley Crue) is ACTUALLY a Remake
I wanna see Jeremy Camp again and Mark Schultz
I don’t care what people say! Jen is absolutely beautiful! Fight me!
Foreigner IS AWESOME
John bon Jovi, Twisted sister and Van Halen is not metal. Also why no Stryper and AC/DC or even Dokken I'm just saying we needed more songs.
Hold up, so you go "Twisted Sister and Van Halen are not metal." (Which is oh so wrong) and then your go-to Metal band is AC/DC? That's... Interesting to say the least...
Pure Sataniſm...
John got destroyed, but wally is on another lvl.
Thanks man!
Funneh! Love it. :)

there was essentially no metal in this
"metal"...no, just no
It's technically hair metal
Yeah not going to get many views with that abhorrent thumbnail...
I used to love them. Met them a few times. John is a bad man. Him can keep his paws off this country trying to turn it into a dominion theology.
