GUYS KESHA DIDN'T STEAL THIS SONG FROM SNSD NEITHER DID SNSD STEAL FROM HER. 1)KESHA DID THIS FOR A DEMO. 2) SNSD BOUGHT THE SONG. 3) KESHA SOLD IT. SIMPLE AS THAT NO ONE STOLE A SINGLE THING.
Kesha didn't sell it because she does not own it. She only provided the vocals for the demo of the English version. The song was later pitched to SM Entertainment who bought the rights and SNSD under SM TOWN (SM Entertainment's umbrella name for all the recording artists it manages) recorded it. The original writers are still credited with writing the song.
People need to wake up and realize SNSD bought the fucking demo from Kesha. Some Kpop fans need to realize the same thing. Stop hating on SNSD and Kesha.
They didn't buy it from Kesha, though... There's three people credited to the creation of this song and none of them are Kesha. She just did the demo track for them.
tumblrstorm No, it wasn't. Kesha just did the demo track for the song's writers...so that potential buyers could hear an idea of what the song would sound like.
Just to clear up any confusion, the song "Run Devil Run" was neither SNSD's nor Kesha's originally. It was written by Alex James, Busbee, and Kalle Engström. Kesha was asked to sing the song as a demo to how it should/would sound like, should the song get a release. She never had any /rights/ to the song. (Meaning this is a leaked demo) She was only a voice provider. SM Entertainment bought the rights to the song and translated it to Korean, and had SNSD sing it.
to clarify for people fighting over whose song it is: the song was written then sold to a Korean songwriter who translated and rearranged the english version to korean. kesha did the guide track as well as having it as a demo track for her own album. BUT Kesha has no rights to the song as it belongs to SNSD. kesha did not write the song nor did she plagiarize it because she was close to the composer for this song she was chosen to sing the guide track. many american artists sing guide tracks for other singers before they become famous, when they release the guide track on an album there doesn't seem to be much problem as long as the rightful owner is ok with it. another artist who has had the same fan fight over their song is Ariana Grande, her demo of boyfriend material was sold to a korean songwriter who went under the same process of changing the song, the song was then given to F(x) titled as No More. the lyrics to the song hold different content. when ariana's version didnt make the cut for her album the song was given to f(x) who released it, later it brought controversy when ariana released the song after giving the rights to f(x). but both sides were fine with the release and it was not brought up for plagiarism.
Ara KPop Hang on a minute.... was that hot summer? Because, if it was, it used to belong to a group, then to an Australian dude when he won a competition...but now SM has it. Just curious :D
Emma Tachikawa Words like devil scare Christian audiences, which might be a sales factor in the hyper-Christian U.S. Plus, she obviously can't sing this. There's lots of autotune in the demo, she'd never have been able to perform this live.
To correct everyone it's not her song only she worked with 3 other people who asked her to sing the demo which was later the copyright was bought by snsd so technically no one owns the song but by a committee

Now, i'm leaving of this BTShit Fandom, so immature... I think Exo-l is More kind than Army Because here in this video there are many haters of SNSD most of them are Army's. You didn't know that i love this audio but I saw this comment You are as serious as you are.
For those who say that Kesha stole the song from snsd, I want to CLARIFY that the song is not either of the two, it was written by Alex James, Busbee, and Kalle Engström. They asked Kesha to sing it to see what it would sound like but it was never released so this would be leaked (the song was a demo), then SM Entertainment bought the rights and it was translated into Korean so that Girls Generation could sing it.
For people saying that there's to much Auto-Tune for Kesha. I believe it's because she is for one singing in English not Korean. Different types of pronunciation. but also she is one person. Snsd is a whole group and has different voice through out the hole song. To me they both sound really good.
Am I the only person here who like both versions? 😅 I love the raspiness of ke$ha's voice and the different flavours snsd's put into it (plus the choreo). I used to be addicted with this that I had both versions on my playlist before. 😄 #SNSD #Sone #Kesha
Omfg sones pleaseeeeee, run devil run was released 4 years ago, calm down. Is this even a big deal? Do you know how many kpop songs came from english songs? Sorry sorry, Juliette, dancing queen, sm does it all the time. I love snsd, Taeyeon is my idol but you all really need to calm down over this, my friend just messaged me saying all your hate made her hate the kpop fandom and she has no interest in joining it. Good job guys, good job.
i'd rather be a stuck up otaku than a crazy fan whom my idols will never pay any attention to, because the fandom is always starting fights with other fandoms in other group videos. you know its true. dont be butthurt.
I love the SNSD version as well but I wish this wasn't rejected from Kesha's Animal album. It just fits in so well with that album's vibe and her voice.
"Run Devil Run" was written by Alex James, busbee, and Kalle Engström.[2] In 2008, American singer Kesha provided the vocals for the demo of the song which has been leaked online. The song was pitched to SM Entertainment for Girls' Generation.[3] In 2011, Girls' Generation recorded a Japanese version of "Run Devil Run", which was released as a double A-side with "Mr. Taxi".[4] Here lol And kesha didn't owned and wrote this song at all lol, she just provided the vocals, just accept it. SNSD's run devil run is the official one and Kesha's run devil run was just a demo and was never planned to release it since it was "leaked". SM bought it not SNSD. Where is y'all reading comprehension? I'm embarrassed for some ppl here. Anyways i like both versions.
SM bought it to avoid any possible legal trouble just to be sure. And Kesha agree to it. It’s a win-win situation. So I don’t why brainless people are accusing each side of “stealing” lol
You do know that Kesha produced this song and sold it to SNSD, right? This is the original one. The tempo was bumped up a bit to cater to the upbeat tempo of kpop songs.
Not correct. The song was written and produced by a Producer trio. They let Kesha sing it, to basicly try it out. But Kesha never bought the rights, so the actual official version is Girl Generations' because SM Entertainment bought the rights to the song. This version was never officially released but was only leaked. Kesha was the song guide, to see if it worked.
Jennifer Nguyễn Ke$ha recorded this doing a favour for one of the producers who she knew personally, and it was gonna be released on Animal, but was scrapped, and then like 1000 other people have said, SM Entertainment bought the song and it was translated into Korean and they gave it to SNSD. How many times do we have to comment telling people this? -_-
IMO she sounded better than SNSD. She really should've went and released the song. I like it better and it suits her image. SNSD was all candy korean pop and all corny.
Oliver Magat did u check their other videis, especially igab, they have different concept, so don't say like they're some useless girls holding candies and stuff like that.
Super official song, i wonder why it isn't on any of her CD's or even uploaded on her official channels? Could it be because this was never her property? It was written by Michael Busbee, Kalle Engstrom and Alex James, they *PAID* Kesha to make a Demo (never supposed to be leaked to the Public) and used that Demo to sell to SM Too Imply Kesha in any way owns this song is incredibly disrespectful to those who actually wrote it Run Devil Run by SNSD *isn't* a variant of "Kesha's song", it is the *only* official version, there is no official English version (unless you feel the writers don't deserve any money for their creation?)
Look I am not a hater of Kesha, this really has nothing to do with Kesha this is about the Idiot haters of SNSD and SM entertainment, who constantly try to imply they stole other artists content.. here is the obvious answer to any of those claims; Do you think UA-cam would leave an ILLEGAL video uploaded getting add revenue for them? That would open them up to the mother of all Law suits.....
+Haehyuk Real i'm guessing either someone responded to him then it was removed as spam, or he just didn't finish his comment. I'm guessing the first one since his tone changed a bit in his reply :p
SleepingGiant This was Kesha's song first, written for her as you said. It did not make it onto Animal and was left alone for 2 years. SM purchased the rights for it, making it THEIR song, then sold it again to GG, making it their song also. Kesha no longer has rights, but it DID belong to her. This was never meant to be a demo.
The demo version was by kasha but the people who won the copyright to the song were the girls generetion, so the song belongs to the girls generetion, there is no need for this fight.
let's break it down a little bit...Kesha recorded the demo in 2008, nothing happened and it was pitched to SNSD and they released it in 2010. Kesha's version was never released and then her demo got leaked and people are accusing her of stealing it when in actuality she got the song first. Moral of the story? It's common for songs to be given to other artists if they themselves don't want to do it. Did you know that Rihanna's umbrella was originally pitched to Britney Spears but she turned it down? Or that Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone was passed by Pink and Hillary Duff? There ya go. Hope that helps!
Even after all this time there still seems to be confusion about the roles here in the creation, then the use, of the song. There are the songwriters and the publishers, they both have a role. The classic examples are Tin Pan Alley, The Brill Building and Nashville. Songs could, and would, end up with different artists. In the Motown example the songwriters were in house & some were also artists on the label, so there were often multiple versions of the song. * Kesha's involvement here is singing on the demo (I'm certain some lyrics had to be changed for the Korean version, but the melody & phrasing did not), tho' I don't know if it was for the songwriters demo or as a run through for potential material for her LP (not unusual), but it wasn't chosen. Sometimes an artist has an "exclusive" on a song, meaning they get the 1st yes or no on a song and nobody else can touch it until they decide. If they say no then the songwriters & publishers will seek out other artists. Songwriters don't make real $$ unless a song is recorded and - hopefully - becomes a hit. And management companies like you have in K-Pop are always looking for "that song" for their artists. * So here there is no "stealing", etc., it just is what it is, and you get to hear the song in a different form than the one you know/heard 1st. As a songwriter I love that. On a side note you can find demos on YT sung by Boa (ex-Spica now Keembo) for the likes of Nine Muses & T-ara that are a good comparison to this song in terms of a demo vs. the actual released song. Happy listening everybody!
Lmao came here just to see if there's still Kesha vs SNSD banter a decade later, was not disappointed. Both versions are really good, it translated well into both languages and appeal (though I just keep seeing Yoona in my mind).
First of all guys, this song was not written by Kesha or stolen by SNSD. The song was written by someone else and Kesha made a demo for it. SM Town which is the entertainment company for SNSD decided to buy the song and into translate it into Korean. So yes, it basically is a K-pop song. Stop being ignorant and hating on this just because it’s K-pop and open up your mind to other different genres of music, K-pop exists, stop being biased and prejudice and just except that. If you don’t like, it keep it to yourself.
Kesha’s version has so much emotion, it’s like the song was made for her, I love it! And SNSD’s version, the vocals, and there visuals! This isn’t biased, but I like SNSD’s version more, but I respect Kesha!
I'm a fans of SNSD, and i like Kesha too! Like both of them actually, but I have to agree Kesha did it very well with her version/demo version/unreleased version :)

Ke$ha's version is the best version in my opinion. SNSD's version is nice too but this version is perfection...
why did kesha reject this song omg? it fits her so well!
Well, her voice has actually aged so, it'd sound way different from this version
Dr luke won't let her make music that she liked
@@Yugvijay that we all are aware of nowadays, but she did sell the rights because she just didn't like it for the album.
@@ottomendoza8276 she can't make an album of her own choices of songs, so she sells Music that she can't put in her album
Yugvijay she also said in an interview that she just didn’t like the song and that it didn’t give off the certain image she wanted for herself
This song definitely fits Kesha's voice better than SNSD, it's totally her style
Alejandro Carballo well snsd did this song for that exact point, they wanted to try a new image
***** And they did a great job! I really love it with SNSD's voices, but personally I think Kesha's versionis better.
lol original is the best
jz rrr lol snsd bought the song after Kesha did her demo
Yaaasss
와.... 케샤버전도 좋네...
Kk,my us
Sones dislikes this? What's the point of hating, SNSD bought this song and what :/ I love Ke$ha and SNSD, but I heard this version earlier. I like both versions but still prefer Ke$ha's
same here, lol
actually I’m a sone and I like the two versions ,but I just can’t choose which one is better O-O
Park ChimChim for life i agree
Now, i'm leaving of this BTShit Fandom, so immature... I think Exo-l is More kind than Army Because here in this video there are many haters of SNSD most of them are Army's. You didn't know that i love this audio but I saw this comment You are as serious as you are.
@@moonlette389 wtf? the fans are immature but why did u say btshit?
For those who say that Kesha stole the song from snsd, I want to CLARIFY that the song is not either of the two, it was written by Alex James, Busbee, and Kalle Engström. They asked Kesha to sing it to see what it would sound like but it was never released so this would be leaked (the song was a demo), then SM Entertainment bought the rights and it was translated into Korean so that Girls Generation could sing it.
May be an unpopular opinion but I would have preferred that to be released as a Kesha song
For people saying that there's to much Auto-Tune for Kesha. I believe it's because she is for one singing in English not Korean. Different types of pronunciation. but also she is one person. Snsd is a whole group and has different voice through out the hole song. To me they both sound really good.
One of the best unreleased Kesha's songs ever ❤
Its a demo so the song isnt hers, being unreleased means a song kesha would do but then discarded, this was just a demo sold to SM entertainment.
another her hidden gem demo is "Feels Like Rain"
Am I the only person here who like both versions? 😅 I love the raspiness of ke$ha's voice and the different flavours snsd's put into it (plus the choreo). I used to be addicted with this that I had both versions on my playlist before. 😄 #SNSD #Sone #Kesha
I was going to join SNSD fandom but these comments.. make me not want to...so immature...
Yup same here ( lol I already left 4 years ago )
You made a right choice..
Snsd is the best thing that happened to me 8 years ago, please don't dislike them just because some of their fans are rude 😟
Jovy Munoz just the fans? Hmmm
JC Xu yes, why?
I love both versions it’s such a bop
Who came here after k-ville entertainment?

actually this one is better. like u can feel the emotion in her voice which suit the song the most
병 병 exactly
some sones are too bias to say that
Not me. Im an SNSD fan and I can honestly say this really does suit Kesha's voice more than my 9 biases.
병 병 not me
Me too. Her vocal is really cool for this song and i like more ke$ha version
This would have been so good on her animal album
Both Kesha and Girls Generation absolutely ate this song up
So this is why i have this feeling of Kesha's vibe when listening to SNSD's Run Devil Run
SNSD AND KESHA SERVED CVNT
I know Kesha started the idea, but SNSD is another level
Are those dislikes from the fact that they think KE$HA copied it?? 😂
+Taehyung Forever such a shame, I'm a devoted BigBang and GG fan as well as Kesha's, and it is really a shame that people like you are GG's stans.
+Taehyung Forever that's sad. both versions are great
+Otto Mendoza FYI, it's not GG stans, it's SONE.
-strong power, thank you you’re an idiot because sm bought it from the 3 people who produced this song lmao
ke$ha didint copied it lmaooo stupid ass bitch
I just discovered this Kesha version and it's so good omg
I like this version cause i understand what she says
hey sone, i like this better since she brought it to you. be grateful -_- stuck up sone.
i'd rather be a stuck up otaku than a crazy fan whom my idols will never pay any attention to, because the fandom is always starting fights with other fandoms in other group videos. you know its true. dont be butthurt.
TheEvaristoCaitlin wait soo your so called "anime characters" listen to you .-.
Lol ironic how im making this comment
Monkey D. Luffy tf are you on
이버젼 너무좋다...음반 발매좀
I love the SNSD version as well but I wish this wasn't rejected from Kesha's Animal album. It just fits in so well with that album's vibe and her voice.
"The promises that you promised are about as real as an air guitar" loved that
"Run Devil Run" was written by Alex James, busbee, and Kalle Engström.[2] In 2008, American singer Kesha provided the vocals for the demo of the song which has been leaked online. The song was pitched to SM Entertainment for Girls' Generation.[3] In 2011, Girls' Generation recorded a Japanese version of "Run Devil Run", which was released as a double A-side with "Mr. Taxi".[4]
Here lol
And kesha didn't owned and wrote this song at all lol, she just provided the vocals, just accept it.
So much better than that bland Girl's Generation version. It has so much personality to it and it's so addictive.
Raccoon Child I agree with you. Girl's Generation is suck
Raccoon Child Much better (rock) version: watch?v=SYVlIi6-I8Y
by YB
Raccoon Child Erm, both version are pretty much identical.
Kesha's version is just supposed to be a demo version.
Ronald Valvevy Your mouth sucks!!!
I searched this up like 2 years ago and found the SNSD's version and that version got me into k-pop fully. Thank you Kesha and SNSD :)
No one stole the song!!
It was originally compose by SM but they wanted Kesha to record it in English.
SNSD ad-libs & King Taeyeon High note make this song better 😍
Super official song, i wonder why it isn't on any of her CD's or even uploaded on her official channels?
Could it be because this was never her property?
It was written by Michael Busbee, Kalle Engstrom and Alex James, they *PAID* Kesha to make a Demo (never supposed to be leaked to the Public) and used that Demo to sell to SM
Too Imply Kesha in any way owns this song is incredibly disrespectful to those who actually wrote it
Run Devil Run by SNSD *isn't* a variant of "Kesha's song", it is the *only* official version, there is no official English version (unless you feel the writers don't deserve any money for their creation?)
Look I am not a hater of Kesha, this really has nothing to do with Kesha this is about the Idiot haters of SNSD and SM entertainment, who constantly try to imply they stole other artists content..
here is the obvious answer to any of those claims;
Do you think UA-cam would leave an ILLEGAL video uploaded getting add revenue for them?
That would open them up to the mother of all Law suits.....
+SleepingGiant did you juat reply to your own comment?
+Haehyuk Real i'm guessing either someone responded to him then it was removed as spam, or he just didn't finish his comment. I'm guessing the first one since his tone changed a bit in his reply :p
SleepingGiant This was Kesha's song first, written for her as you said. It did not make it onto Animal and was left alone for 2 years. SM purchased the rights for it, making it THEIR song, then sold it again to GG, making it their song also. Kesha no longer has rights, but it DID belong to her. This was never meant to be a demo.
Haehyuk Real lmao
The demo version was by kasha but the people who won the copyright to the song were the girls generetion, so the song belongs to the girls generetion, there is no need for this fight.
People who like both are Legends👑
let's break it down a little bit...Kesha recorded the demo in 2008, nothing happened and it was pitched to SNSD and they released it in 2010.
The Girls Generation version is obviously better quality, since this ones just a demo, but I like being able to sing along.
Look up yb version
gingergiggles igual se copiaron :^)
Esta version existio primero sabes...
Mika-chan :v no es copia lmao SM compro la canción
stupid
Both Kesha and SNSD did phenomenal on this song! Great job!
Before you actually comment , please go to google and find out who sang it first, and WHO bought the song
This is a demo, kesha sang it first and then SM bought it.
Snsd and Kesha's are both amazing well done girls :)!
케샤가 살린거랑 소녀시대랑 다른 느낌이 들긴하네 ㅋㅋ 근데 케샤도 장난아니다 ㅠㅡㅠ 넘좋다
some of y'all really don't know how the music industry works and it showns...
11 years later... still fighting over this💀
This song brings a lot of great memories of my childhood. Man, I wish I could go back to the year 2009.
This version is honestly part of my childhood
Me too
Even after all this time there still seems to be confusion about the roles here in the creation, then the use, of the song. There are the songwriters and the publishers, they both have a role. The classic examples are Tin Pan Alley, The Brill Building and Nashville. Songs could, and would, end up with different artists. In the Motown example the songwriters were in house & some were also artists on the label, so there were often multiple versions of the song.
*
Kesha's involvement here is singing on the demo (I'm certain some lyrics had to be changed for the Korean version, but the melody & phrasing did not), tho' I don't know if it was for the songwriters demo or as a run through for potential material for her LP (not unusual), but it wasn't chosen.
*
So here there is no "stealing", etc., it just is what it is, and you get to hear the song in a different form than the one you know/heard 1st. As a songwriter I love that. On a side note you can find demos on YT sung by Boa (ex-Spica now Keembo) for the likes of Nine Muses & T-ara that are a good comparison to this song in terms of a demo vs. the actual released song. Happy listening everybody!
In my opinion i think Kesha sings this way better than snsd...just my opinion
I love snsd but kesha definitely rocked this song.
Kesha sabia que tinha escrito essa , pra a Nação 👑 Música feita de rainha para outras Rainhas .
no way kesha made tihs BOP she needs to make more songs like this. kpop needs her back
I love SNSD, but originally is from KE$HA Obviously
this is not the ORIGNAL cuz it's just a demo and don't have right. so snsd is the original singer
@@hyoori4174 but SM bought it
I like all 3 versions!
True Animal Original version in Korean by SNSD (Girls Generation). Maybe they even released a Japanese version.
yeah there's also a Japanese Ver.
Ra Ra no this is the original song and lyrics this is the demo of run devil run smittown just bought the rights to the song and gave it to snsd
Girl's generation is better
It's 2015 and i still had'nt realize that Run Devil Run is originally by Kesha.
I just found out today💀
Lmao came here just to see if there's still Kesha vs SNSD banter a decade later, was not disappointed. Both versions are really good, it translated well into both languages and appeal (though I just keep seeing Yoona in my mind).
This is so much better than the kpop version
yeah bc its your native tongue lmfao

역시 케샤 음색좋다. 근데 이 노래 자체가 그룹을 위한 노래인거같음.
I love her voice and the instrumental in this song so much.
Thank you for existing Kesha we still love you very much.
Tf I used to listen to this 10 years ago!? I totally forgot about it! And it's scary to finally understand the lyrics lmao
가요보다 이 버전이 더 나은데..?
아쉽다ㅠㅠ
Kesha’s version has so much emotion, it’s like the song was made for her, I love it! And SNSD’s version, the vocals, and there visuals! This isn’t biased, but I like SNSD’s version more, but I respect Kesha!
I'm a fans of SNSD, and i like Kesha too! Like both of them actually, but I have to agree Kesha did it very well with her version/demo version/unreleased version :)
love this song :P who agrees?
if this song was only done by her... and not just some lameass cover...
Xingmey Well Girls Generation's version is the cover and that's brilliant too. Kesha wrote the song and sold it to SM Entertainment.
