I'm a HUGE fan of your content, but I do have to say, it's so nice to finally have a non-sponsored video. I really believe you should be paid for the content you create (because you can see from the comments how many wardrobes you've improved, including mine!), but there seemed to be an endless release of sponsored vids.
Please restyle these outfits with your aesthetic today - like how would you tweak them, or what would you wear instead to make them look more up to date. It would be a fun video to watch! 😊
You should do a follow up video on styling the pieces you should still wear today to show us how you can create new outfits with something you already own, even quite old ones!!!
You absolutely deserve it, you have developed a polish, sophistication and class that is rare. You see so many young women dressed in samey body con outfits that I clocked on ladies of the night in Manchester over 25 years ago….. you nail it every time, welldone Lydia!
You were incredibly stylish Lydia even during your late teens and throughout your 20s which is a testament to your classic and timeless personal style which I can relate to and take inspiration from even as a consultant cardiologist in my early 40s. Your content is easily my favourite UK based fashion channel and you are exceptional at your job and I look forward to every video you release!
You always looked so sophisticated Lydia. The dress you wore on your 21st is stunning, I imagine you’ll keep it forever! Have you ever styled your Mum? I would love to meet her. Some of your subscribers are in her age bracket. Hope you reach 900, 000 ❤
I’d love you to bring your mum into a video occasionally-maybe you styling her . I’m your mom’s age-66, and I’ve been watching your channel for years. There are a few pieces I wouldn’t wear because they’d feel too young, but most pieces you show I could wear. Great channel.
I’m definitely a boho lady! I have been since my late teens and now I’m in my 60’s, it’s still the style I feel really comfortable in. I love vintage, individual items and am not a trend led person. However, I do have some more classic pieces like blazers and shirts but I think it’s really a bonus to know what you really love to wear .This was a really enjoyable video.💖🌸
I really appreciate hearing this! I worry about pressure to dress a certain way because of my age and not just what I like. I have some clothes & style preferences now that I hope I can wear thirty years into the future!
I would love to see a video where you recreate or restyle old outfits with modern pieces/your current wardrobe. I would find that so interesting and helpful! Love your content 🧡
Please restyle these looks with your today style! It would be very interesting to see how you update them or take some items from these looks and create new outfits ❤
Fantastic! Thank you so much! I often wonder if it's okay to wear something, or if it is dating me. I grew up sewing my own clothes. Now I buy them. Always I value good work and material. You are a wonderful teacher, plus lovely and kind. More lessons on how to determine when something is "done". Thank you!
What a fun video 😊😊 indeed we all evolve in our style and your content hugely inspires this process. I loved your long hair… you looked so sweet and lovely in it ❤
You look adorable. I think to look back like this is a great idea. You can definitely see how far you’ve come as far as style and sophistication ,seem to be much more confident. I see so much shyness in those pictures when you were younger. What a great video. I love your new collection.😊
Great video. I would definitely like more of this kind. Hearing your decision-making process helps me with my own. I shop smarter now, and I am more selective in my choices. Thank you.
I loved seeing this video Lydia and seeing your looks from the past. Interesting to see how your style has evolved.Im 73 from England originally living in Australia now so have some adjusting to do so that my wardrobe choices reflect my age and our hot climate, however the principles of your style are timeless and so inspiring. I too would love you to style your Mum,as I struggle sometimes to find age appropriate clothes that are stylish but not overly conservative.
I look at photos of myself when I was younger, and think, did l really wear that. But at the time, l loved those outfits, our taste's change as we get older .
Loved this video! Fashion is so often an expression of who we are in a moment. Hopefully we are always growing and evolving in all areas of life and fashion reflects me as I travel on. (Even the missteps) Thank you for giving us a glimpse of you in former places. Love what you express today! Timeless, approachable elegance. Very Audrey Hepburn.
I really enjoyed going down memory lane with your wardrobe! I've been a subscriber of yours for a super long time, and my wardrobe has definitely evolved over this time period. I've always had that classic, timeless look to my wardrobe, but I've refined it by having more neutral shades now. I haven't given up on color, but I'm more selective in the shades that look best on me (blues and greens). I'm also a great believer in the magpie effect you taught about when you walk in the store (or go online). I hear your voice in my head telling me to STOP! LOL! I'm always asking myself "WWLT" (What would Lydia Tomlinson) do/choose/buy? Whether it's putting an outfit together, making a purchase, getting rid of clothes, etc. You are my personal stylist forever!
You have developed really lovely sophisticated taste. It's really nice to see a sophisticated young British woman not tattooed, scantily clad or going out in lounge wear. I'm really enjoying your channel. I think everyone should have a colour analysis with an image consultant if they want to get their look right. It makes all the difference.
@@klmlk62I think the point is that we shouldn’t pit women against other women, or give one woman a compliment while putting down others. That’s definitely not classy.
Always love your style! Fashion and home! Love that your style is timeless. Would you mind sharing the info on the gold/brown patterned pillow behind you during the video?
Great video Lydia! It's comforting to know that even you have small regrets about ghosts of outfits past, LOL ! When I go shopping I always ask myself two questions: Would Lydia wear this? And: How will this look in photos,10 years from now?
Hi Lydia, I loved this video a lot. Like you changed so did I. You where my first fashion vlog I followed and still do. Yes, you made me grow up with you. Looking back is wonderful but I used to get so stressed getting dressed. Now it’s easy and I definitely found my style with classic pieces in my wardrobe. I still love shopping but that also became so easy knowing what is my style and what suits me. So, I like to thank you for your ongoing inspiration and as always look always forward to your postings. 👏💐💝🤗
I take your point about structure, sleek, minimal etc, but what do you wear around the house and garden in hot weather like we're having at the moment?
I find that my style has improved considerably when I stopped shopping at Zara and H&M. I stopped knowing what was on "trend" and got more into minimal lines and styles. They still have good items now and again, but it's definitely a very low % in my wardrobe. I am very happy about this 90's revival though. I am a 90's teenager and feel best in a little bit of edgier grunge inspired styles. I can finally find the pieces I love easily. Before I had to go thrifting and that didn't really make me happy. It just looked old.
I could conceivably do a similar video with certain clothes from about 1986-now. I still have (and wear!) my college jeans, penny loafers, and at least one white button down Oxford and blue blazer (Brooks bros- HUGE investment at the time).
Hopefully, we all evolve in many areas of our lives. But like you, I still have pieces from around the 2018-19 time, and I agree: if they were a 'yes this is me' in my body then, I would likely still wear and love them now. Or put them away for a while if bored, and bring them out again in a few years.
Blue top (and obviously black one) runs small! Yes, it is super beautiful. I am between M and L usually, and took L this time, and it us a bit tight. Just bear it in mind before ordering
In my opinion you look lovely in all those outfits taking into consideration your age at the time and what was trending!❤ Also, you should consider wearing more colors! Your complexion suits you well with bright colors!
Hello Lydia & all.. I appreciate your Videos so very much, they helped me alot to style more effortlessly and mininalistic and mix and match it all together with more basics... And please all of us may think of the huge plastic waste clothes masses in the oceans, transported to Ghana etc. I just signed a greenpeace petition against plastic in clothes, which is burnt in toxic fires ... it's a HUGE problem. So: Let us look for natural timeless basics, we are gonna wear for years and years... no polyester, no plastic if somehow possible... its our world and environment with all the other living souls being with us, who have no voice and can't help themselves. Its our responsibility, so thank you all and Lydia for doing what we can to do our parts for our all future 🙏🙏🙏❤️ Smiles from Germany, Diana
Really nice content hope to see a follow up!! You are such a nice person . I like your style and how you mix and match different pieces together Best regards :)
It’s so funny how some things suit one person and it doesn’t suit another one 😅 I actually really liked the boho dress outfit with a hat and it’s something I would definitely wear in summer!
Weneed a video of a week in June in the heat.New fresh ideas other the linen shorts and dresses😊. Can u do it please. Something different from all the others UA-camrs 😢😢. Its all the same.
Anyone else detect Lydia's nerves when she announced going back 10 years? 😅😅 Zara was iconic back in the day with some great pieces but they have definitely fallen off recently.
if you would still wear all these pieces, why don't you then? especially since for many of those you said you 'loooove' them, make a video with outfits based on these old pieces, let's see.
Love your style and your content but I would like to pushback on the idea that you have to keep cycling through clothes as part of your job because do you really? The every day person isn’t doing that and I would value much more someone who showed me how to style things over the years and through many wears than just getting new clothes all the time.
It is one thing to disagree, or say you don't like something, or have a different objective view on what is being shown. But there is rarely any reason in life to publish uncalled for, rude personal comments. if you can't say anything nice, it is best to say nothing.
