Thanks so much for this Claudia. While we are on the subject, do you have or know where to get the pattern for the rainbow heart small quilt hanging on the wall behind you? It is beautiful!
Thanks so much for watching and yes, the hearts quilt is a mini that I made and it's a free pattern. There's a video on my channel here ua-cam.com/video/LvmFOrKbd10/v-deo.html and my companion tutorial and pattern can be found on my website here: www.createwithclaudia.com/2020/09/shooting-hearts-mini-quilt-tutorial/ Glad you liked it.
Hi Claudia, you mentioned designing your won pattern and quilting software. Can you share your favorite quilting software, what do you recommend? and are any of them free?
I use EQ8 and it is not free. I've only had it about a year. Before that I drafted all of my patterns by hand with pen and paper. I don't know of any quilt design software that is free. Thanks for the question and for watching.
High since you mentioned that I wanted to know if you know how to go about doing that if I have my own applique design or some other pattern that I'm working on how would I copyright the pattern myself
Not sure how I missed this comment. Sorry about that. There are a number of quilt magazines that have patterns in them when they are released. Love of Quilting and American Patchwork & Quilting are just 2 that are out there, but there are more. Thanks for watching.
Madison Lineberry use any block you like.... just make the number of rows and columns for the size you need. A classic baby quilt is just a bunch of squares accented by a wide boarder.... especially a wavy boarder...that ties the colors together.
Actually, Federal Courts had a different ruling on that when Chanel tried to sue and stop a woman from collecting Chanel buttons and making clasps for her pearl bracelets. Once something is purchased it is theirs to do as they please because they own it! Chanel lost the case and it was a landmark case. Your quilt pattern cannot be resold or owner cannot put their name to it but, as long as she owns it, it's hers to do as she wishes. Best bet, create a trademark! Then you have more control over your design. I worked Constitutional Law. With the arts their are many loopholes and slippery slopes.
Interesting - Like I said in the video, I'm definitely not an attorney so I don't know all of the ins and outs about copyright, just want people to be aware. I be there are many loopholes and slippery slopes with it. I leave all of that stuff to the experts! :-) Thanks for watching.

Good question. I'm definitely not an expert in that area so I couldn't answer that. Thanks for watching and sorry I couldn't help.
What sewing magazines do you subscribe to, to get all those patterns? TFS
