Building my lego Airwolf in the 80s as a kid was only possible because of space lego parts, it's still hung up in livingroom by fishing wire to this day.
I would love to have all the space sets from the late 70's. I had a bunch of them back then and I'm sure they are still hanging around in my lego storage container. Guess I should go have a look and see what I have left from back then.

Of all my toys from Hot Wheels to early video games I definitely spent more time with the classic space sets than probably any other toy. Mine were handed down to my nephew...I sure wish I'd have kept track over the years where they finally ended up. It's great you were able to save your original sets and now have them all back in your own display room. Very awesome.

Awesome collection!!! We will all be interested to see how it looks in your collection room! Classic Space is one of my favorite Lego themes of all time. The modern and licensed stuff is fun but can NEVER be as pure, original, and charming.
The all terrain vehicle was my favorite. It's the one I remember the most and built/re-built over and over again. When I "re-discovered" lego here about a year ago (my son is an adult now and picked back up the hobby a couple years ago) - I wanted to start with Lego City Space (the newer sets) - after building nearly all of them I started to look for classic space sets and the all terrain vehicle is the first set I wanted to get. To be honest that is the one set that I would grab if I could only take one - it's the crown jewel of my collection and I have some pretty expensive / complex sets now. Thank you for sharing - I'm so glad that you'd kept your lego sets - so many times I hear people say "I had a great lego collection - my mother sold it all at a yard sale...."
I had many of these sets. , Now I'm 50 years old and only just got into buying Star Wars lego. I don't actually care about the official sets, but I now happily spend hours making cool looking spaceships while listening to podcasts or music. Just like I used to 40 years ago.
Really nice collection. I never got into Lego, but it must have been great for a kid to build up the smaller pieces with pocket money and then receive the huge sets for Christmas. I like the base with the moon craters too, it's a really nice touch. 👍

I had lots of the small pocket-money sets plus the middle-sized transporter, which I think was a birthday present one year. My kids still have all my Space Lego pieces and base plates jumbled up with their dismantled Lego sets. Inspired now to try re-building a few of the Space Lego sets.

It was the generation with the white ships with blue windows, like the front window on that All-terrain vehicle you have. Rebuilding all these vehicles from bags of bricks must have been a work of patience. Cool video!

Wow, you really had a much bigger Lego collection than I was expecting. I only had a couple of small space items, Castle and Forest Men sets where what I loved as a kid, though didn't have that many of them in comparison to your collection.
Lego was the first toy line that I actively collected. I guess my first sets were from 1977 and up until 1984, I think every family member got me Lego for birthdays and Christmases.
Hey Dean, great video, and I agree that lego space sets especially the early sets from the 1979 ,early 80s were the best space lego, even in today in my opinion.I still have some my own original sets sill together from when they built back from the early 80s, and on the 40th anniversary i cleaned up and rebuilt the classic space explorer 928 which are all on display.
I had some space lego but l mainly had the medieval lego. Your collection is mind blowing. Well done! I don't know how you remember all the toys you had, you keep showing items l forgot I had from metal soldiers to A team vans. I remember my complete star wars collection, black hole, tron and DUNE figures but until your videos that was it. Thanks keep on jogging my memory
That's an awesome collection, I'm very jealous. My first Space Lego was the Mobile Tracking Station that I see you also have. When I used to play with them the white astronauts were the good guys and the reds were the baddies. Tragically all my Lego got binned by my parents after I left home, still gutted about that.
Awesome collection you have. I just had the LL 918 and a couple of small buggys and recently managed to find all the parts to LL 918 and she now proudly sits on my shelf😊
I still have all my Space Lego. Like you, the two seater space scooter was also my first set. Of all my collectables, my kids will be left to decide what to do with it all when I'm gone. I'll never part with it while I'm still on planet earth. 😃
I've been rebuilding my Space Lego collection also, my stuff was in a lot worse shape than yours, lots of incomplete sets, broken antennae, discolored parts, faded prints, spacemen with no faces, tons of the infamous broken helmets, the list goes on. I've been buying parts to fill out sets while trying to keep as many of "my" original parts as possible. It's been a journey, I've got roughly 3 sets left to complete. Space Lego makes me think of "Space: 1999" meets "2001: A Space Odyssey".

i used bricklink to figure out what sets space sets i had as a kid too. But mine was boot saled or given away so i had to buy the parts or sets. Strangely, i too have no interest in adding sets i dint have as a kid

I've no idea how the Lego survived as I sold most of my childhood toys in the early 2000s. I'm still kicking myself for doing that.
