Lula Washington & Marcus Miller live at Grand Performances in California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles.
On Friday, July 27, 2018, Grand Performances hosted Lula Washington & Marcus Miller. On that evening, artist-educators Roger Guenveur Smith and Lula Washington celebrated the bicentennial of pioneering abolitionist and feminist Frederick Douglass in an evening of solo movement and performance featuring percussionist Marcus Miller.
Douglass’ classic 19th-century texts inspire a radically remixed vision of the present American moment.
