You need lmg for gaining more speed faster as your jump height is reduced and with that you get more jumps per minute
either 180 all the time
or roughly look at a middle point and strafe
make sure to only tap the slide button for as short as you can

Yes, but theyre quite small so they don't interfere with my screen, but theyre still visible, which lets me differentiate if i have my melee or primary equiped.
