Quiet Sound - by Liz Damon's Orient Express

- Months ago, I posted a short clip of an unknown tune, as I remembered it from the 1970's (last time I'd heard it). Played it on the organ and attempted to stay as close to the tune as I could remember.
After many months, an astute listener solved the mystery for me, identifying not only the song, but the exact artist and version I had in my mind from that time! Liz Damon's Orient Express (aka: Liz Damon And Her Orient Express) and the song title is QUIET SOUND.
I finally found a recording of it, and have used the out of print song here. I've found NO other reference to this song, or anyone else who may have performed it or recorded it.
I still find it to be a very beautiful song. Enjoy the REAL version, how it sounded (not how I played it!) :-)
From 1973-75, I made 5 stops in Pearl Harbor aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), On 3 of them, I heard this lady sing at the EM club there. I had very little money, so my adventures off base were limited. But thanks to this lady, I was very entertained. For an 18-20 year old that was pretty significant at the time. Thank you for posting more of her music, as it brings back some nice memories with the "feel" of this music.

The local girl Liz Damon and the group Orient Express from Hawaii singing their smooth vocals. Thanks to YT lots of people are rediscovering this group and are now listening to their music again. Please play "You make feel like someone" I always said Hawaii has alot of talented people.
I have the original Liz & OE LP. I can not hear enough of her beautiful voice. Her beautiful face doesn't hurt either.
First heard this when I was 8 years old..my parents intro'd me to all kinds of music growing up: 50s,60s,70s..loved this group and Liz was gorgeous besides being a great singer!

What a fantastic rendition - the orient express renders beautiful sounds and melodies that are heart warming and easy to listen to.

I had heard another song by her-- "1900 yesterday"-- and only recently found out who did it. This song is similar, in that it has the same soft, whispery vocals. Really nice.
Quiet Sound Of Our Love Just a musical gem.Its one of the falling in love euphoric spiritual e utopian feelings that happen once in a lifetime.The Orient Express may only have had a few hits however it only takes one to fall in love.The lyrics and melody forever grateful to have heard it.

This group deserved much more attention than they got from top song writers of their time. They could have had many hits.
That voice goes through my 💘 and makes me want to get real close to my beloved.
I remember when we begged our mom to buy this record, I'm sure we got it at my grandparents music store. Great sound and Liz was a real beauty.

Oh yes more great music that was played back in the day on my favorite radio station growing up in St. Louis MO, KMOX-FM 103.3. They played many selections from this group. How I wish I could back in time just to listen to that station. MOR format was a music lover's delight.
I liked this song even more than 1900 Yesterday....vocals with chorus backup were flawless, the melody distinctive and instrumentals, lush.

When were kids we used to enjoy Liz Damon singing at the "Cocks Roost" at the International Market Place. She and her band were just so entertaining even for kids that couldn't see her show in the club! MEMORIES...hanabara days...😂

@hinatsu1 I tried contacting her over a year ago when I posted the "unknown" version (before I finally found out who/when/title etc) and never got an answer. I'm guessing she doesn't monitor her "pages" and such. Glad to know she's doing good. Is she still in Vegas? I think the last thing I read about her was when the Westward Ho closed. Have a good week/holiday/whatever. :-)

Christopher Vermillion Liz is living in Las Vegas and doing well from what I hear. You can find her on facebook. She produced a great show and I had the pleasure of knowing and working for her. Great memories.I have not heard from her in many years.
