Easy to build and beautiful to look at. I built one for our wedding and now have it secured in our backyard. One enhancement I did was to use the “waste” from the gable pieces as the side trellis so that the three vertical pieces are bowed out a little. Thank you for your post!
What did u use for paint I finished cutting all the pieces Your temper plans were great All I have to stain it after I put it up and I really like the stain u used Thanks For This
Not sure where he mentioned 10’, I’ll have to rewatch the video... but just stick with the plans sometimes as we are talking and building you say a wrong dimension- which is actually why we “try” to avoid exacts in a lot of building plan tutorials- so that people can follow the plans.
Remodelaholic don't get me wrong,I live the idea.actually I am using it to build one for my wedding coming up..I just noticed that on the dimensions for the top it had a total span of 120 inches but the plans stated I needed two 96 inch 2x6's for the beams..that was all I was just asking...I didn't mean to offend anyone or the plans.. awesome build.just wanted to make sure I'm doing it accordingly.☺️
No offense taken, technically the long top horizontal pieces really depend on how wide you feel you need the space to be for your wedding... so look at the plans and decide the amount of space you want and go with that length! I promise it works. I actually just got some beautiful wedding photos back from a reader this week who used the plans (and my sister in law used this one too!). For the wedding, you might want to consider adding some bottom braces along the sides, that touch the ground- and run parallel to the ground, that extend past the Front and back 1-2 feet in front and back for added stability, since you won’t be attaching it to a deck or concrete foundation... I hope that makes sense!
Titan StormCrow yep! We love Disneyland! Technically this is a project we’ve had up on our deck for the last four years and we were taking it down to put in a different pergola... so you’re right he may not have been as careful putting it back together because all the screw holes already existed...
There are two options. First you can build the arbor with 4x4 redwood and make the legs longer than the plans list. Dig holes in the proper leg locations, then place the extra 1-2’ legs into the holes and use fence post concrete mix to set the feet. Second: Typically in the garden center they have some precast footings (shaped somewhat like a pyramid with the top cut off, leaving space for a 4x4 on the top). I would dig four footing spaces, deep enough that the footings can be hidden under the soil, tamp the soil at the bottom of the holes down so that it is compact and hard, then put in some sand for leveling out the four footings, once you have your footings level, attach the arbor to the footings with some metal brackets and concrete screws. Then recover the footings with the dugout soil. Good luck!
Hi Could you please add all the dimensions of wood please? Plus I was wondering where can I print that design that you cut it off with jigsaw please? Many thanks mate

Remodelaholic thank you very much and it was very clear that video. I would like to design as well if I can really. Never done before but I will try. Thanks mat
We have a link in the description (but for some reason it didn’t actually hyper- link). Here is the blog post, there are free printable building plans there! We have another arbor linked there as well, so be sure to check that out too!! www.remodelaholic.com/build-garden-arbor-budget-friendly-lumber/
Well two reasons, we are Disney fanatics, but also the video was being published the next day and we needed an intro- and we were at Disneyland... so we recorded the intro there.
Remodelaholic Whats the difference between an arbor and a pergola? Arbors are usually made with two or four posts with a slatted and often arched roof. Meanwhile, pergolas typically have four or more posts and flat roofs. The sides of an arbor are usually covered with lattice or a trellis, while the sides of a pergola are most commonly left open.Apr 17, 2020
Remodelaholic What is a pergola with a roof called? Pergolas with a roof are often referred to as pavilions. Although they are quite similar in design, a pavilion is a freestanding pergola with a fixed roof that generally completely covers the pergola.
Built it in September! Very pretty 😊

+At Charlotte's House we love what you made too!
Where is that opening intro scene and what is that Ship! Now that is some ornate wood-work in the inlay carving of the bow and the figurehead.
?
So nice, what kind of wood did you use?
Redwood
How long did this take to build? What was your total cost for materials?
nice video man, don't mean any disrespect, but can you make the intonation more on a higher tone please? because i get sleepy hearing it
is that a woody harrelson dubbed voiceover? very well synchronised!!
So for the beams ,you used 10' 2x6 and not 8' as stated in the plans??

Really nice! Love the name! 😄
Thanks! It is a perfect definition for what we are!
Cool! How would you anchor to a garden bed or lawn?

I will subscribe when you tell me about the boat.
Do you realize your directions for the corbels are different in the download directions than what you provide in this video?
Is that Disneyland or Walt Disney world
Disneyland
Why is your intro filmed at Disneyland?
Well two reasons, we are Disney fanatics, but also the video was being published the next day and we needed an intro- and we were at Disneyland... so we recorded the intro there.
This is a pergola, not an arbor
It is an arbor.
A pergola covers a larger area, whereas an arbor is smaller. You can read the definition here: www.outsidemodern.com/pergola-vs-arbor/
Remodelaholic it’s a pergola. Pergolas are shaped like that. Arbors are round on top. Nice try though.
Read the article. You are wrong.

A bit of enthusiasm wouldn't hurt you, You sound fed up.
When you speak to viewers take your sunglasses off please
Sounds good.
how much did the material cost if you don’t mind me asking?
I believe around $250 at the time
