Heartbreaking! They will never know how much this song helped so many people out there-like me-to literally survive the hardest times! Thanks so much for this song! ♥️
This song has been a favorite of mine since I first heard it! It is a great song to dance to and is a classic! It will never get old! And we will always remember to dance! The Kinks are legendary! 😊❤❤❤
Saw them @ Nassau Coliseum during the 'One For The Road' Tour. Actually got tossed out for the encore because I was walking on the hockey boards (had to pee BADLY) to get through the crowd. After J Geils Band, best show I ever saw.
Saw them play many times in NYC mid-late 1970s.....& they even played at Thunder Ridge early-mid 1990s in Patterson, NY. I know this chick, Sandy, who has an 8 x 10 pic of her with the Kinks when they played as a warm up band at the Academy Of Music, 14th St., NYC. Forget who they were warming up for.
Strange the song wasn't as successful as Come Dancing. Perhaps people found it a bit slow. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful song with a very sad story line but so true to life.
Ray is a gem, and the Kinks were just perfect, his brother Dave delivering magic from his guitars. This song is amongst Ray`s best and most emotional.

The band I prefer. Listening their songs every day. J'adore

So beautiful ,can’t forget it my whole life
This a grossly overlooked Kinks classic. It's up there with Lola and Waterloo Sunset.
Glad I've found this again
Love and peace

This tune has it all. Especially for those, like me, who feel “too old.” Just don’t forget to dance, my friends.

Ray Davies is great, a very smooth, talented guy. I'm glad the Kinks are still alive and kinking.
Wow, to me the best version of this song. The Kinks are/were a wonderful live band.
I was at one of the shows on this tour- what a great night.
One of my greatest regrets is never getting to see The Kinks live. This is one their most beautiful-right up there with Waterloo Sunset.

Songs can sometimes hit us or stand out and bring us back to moments we might've forgotten us and of course make us tear.

It was the follow up single to their comeback hit Come Dancing, and I agree with many that it is a great song. Sadly it was not such a success.
