And due to a magazine, Cole is likely returning to the Land of Lost Things to continue his quest.
I love how Kai has this "We do dumb stuff when Lloyd is away, just don't tell him" energy, its really funny.
Like the first thing he does after Lloyd leaves is to build a giant slide across the monastery like what 😂
Kai was absolutely winning the idgaf war in these shorts lmao. Bro warned Sora about Chronosteel almost destroying the world and then immediately suggested using it to upgrade his slide course💀💀💀

Kai is much better master than Lloyd, The kids have so much fun with him and don't even get me started on his relationship with Wyldfire
I like how Lego perfected the “Part One, Part Two” format for Dragons Rising season 1. Each half of the season had a solid conclusion and a good beginning, so we weren’t left on a huge cliffhanger for four months like we were with Crystalized
I think that these shorts take place in between s1 and s2 and that cole's journey will be explained in a flashback during the season.
As to why these shorts were released now, thats a pretty easy answer. The miniseries was probably commisioned to sell this wave's sets, like the Legacy shorts.
Not perfect but not bad. Pacing felt really fast (which is expected sort of) but the original shorts from the pilots for example had a good pacing while still being pretty short. Loved kai in these as he just likes to do dumb fun stuff when lloyd isnt around. Kai was the highlight of this miniseries. And we got the mechanic appearing once again which was fun and cool but we also got potential confirmation about skylor as they ate chens noodles. Cole was also a highlight as he enjoyed food and the fun brotherly banter between him and kai. We also got a mini-arc or something idk what you would call it but Arin actually understand why his competitor keeps winning the crossroads carnival pie content. He makes genuinely better pies than Arin even though he's still sorta sad that his isnt the best. Als just introduces chronosteel back and these mechs. I wonder how they will be utilised in the show itself. Will they all get some sort of mech or will it be limited to them three? Fun and interesting shorts to end my long comment off.
A season 2 vid came out, and it shows Riyu has grown massively. This makes the shorts even more confusing
i know! Did Riyu grow after s2 part 2? Are the Elemental Mechs actually before s2? Or is this vid from after s2? So many problems with revealing too many things

This isn't really about the shorts themselves and more about Lego and I don't know if it's the same in other languages but what I just find really confusing is that when episode 1 was released in English episode 3 was (accidentally) released in German, when episode 2 was released in English episode 2 and 1 were released in German and when episode 3 was released in English the German dubbed shorts were taken down altogether
I give Ninjago The Elemental Mechs Sora Shorts Series a 9/10 These were a Really Great Start to Dragons Rising Shorts but I Just Wish that We got 6 Short Episodes instead of 3 But These are Still Super Great in my Opinion Loved The Elemental Mechs Loved The Characters Loved The Mech Ninja Suits of the Ninja we saw Overall Lego Please Keep Making Shorts for The Dragons Rising Sequel Series you did a Really Great Job with The Elemental Mechs Shorts Keep Up The Awesome Work GO NINJA GO🔥😎🔥
I think the shorts takes place between season one and two and Cole is just deciding to catch up after they he and other ninja deals with plot of episode one of the shorts. Cole’s visit will probably will be mentioned at the beginning of season two.
This is true for every Ninjago miniseries though. They're definitely not made with a story in mind, it's usually just to promote a wave of sets.
Hence the weird Core lesson shorts with the horribly out of character Ice Emperor, among other things
The way they talk about the Ice Emperor in the Virtues of Spinjitzu short with him is hilarious
the Ice Emeperor was only out of character cause Wu made the whole thing as an illusion....
Also some real Kai fans know that they actually re used a lot of Kai lins from the pilots to season 10 that they stopped using in the wildbrain era its good to see that there going back to there roots hope to see more in s2 😊
Far from perfect for sure, but I found some enjoyment from them.
I hope we see the actual mechs in future
One part that keeps on bugging me is how sora can use her powers by herself. I guess they might explain it in season two.
There was a new released short, and in there, Riyu was a teenage dragon. That probably means this takes place not too long after season 1. Im guessing theres about a 1 year timeskip after these shorts
Ya I think that these shorts are supposed to come in between some season 2 episodes it’s dumb that they released them now but I hope it makes sense soon.
I find it strange how Kai made it sound like the time twins made the time blades.
Kai just said someone because he was recounting that story to scare Sora. That kind of note wouldnt be the best one to introduce your parents to someone on
If Riyu is bigger at the start of S2 we’ll know this takes place inbetween S1 and S2.
I don’t think lego should’ve labeled these as a mini series when it’s a blatant advertisement for new sets that released in January
Is it just me who thinks that episodes 2 and 3 should have been swapped? The Mechanic is a much more of a final episode character than Lava-Tony!!!
He’s not final episode he’s a 4th tier villain that works for Chen

the best part of these shorts is that we won’t have to deal with the mechanic (aka, a terrible ninjago villain) in the main series for a bit longer because he’s already been dealt with for now.
I hate the Mechanic. He’s not fugidove-level, but he’s down there.

actually they dropped all the shorts in less than ONE weeks, we got the First Episode on the 6th, then the Second on the 9th and the 3rd on the 12th so that is a SIX DAY schedule NOT EVEN ONE WEEK OR TWO.
You say that this was the first time they did episode numbers however, in ninjago decoded they also did this.
This is true actually but I'd barely say those are original shorts in the way these are. There wasn't a single bit of original footage in decoded - it's all reused

i think the shorts were fine on their own, but i hate what they did to the main series. it spoils riyu’s teen form and makes it feel crowded (please tell me why kai needs two mechs in one season). my main issue is with cole. he just spawns in with no explanation, completely ditching the whole journey thing he was going on in s1. i also don’t like how he uses the mech instead of his rock monster
