@Idw0312 it's Abu Garcia 6500 gold series swiss model.all steel gut..I can get 75 yards on it with a 9 foot heavy rod with 4 ounce set up..I never use braid because it always nest on me...I'm liking the sick reel...the new black max are pretty sweet and afordable though.. great for pitching and slingshot for bass and striper

hey, what i do is i tune mine a bit more than i need since i am not very good with baitcasters either but i like them, what i do with most of my reels is i put the breaks on 6 or 8 and do the tension until it falls very slow, it cuts off a little casting distance but still very nice to not get a backlash
Baitcasters don’t cast further. Over heads can cast further but it is difficult to not backlash. Spin is best for longer casts for most and is most versatile while bait casters are best for skull dragging fish in and applying a lot of pressure to quickly turn heads and to make short accurate casts. Overheads are best for offshore fishing for the similar properties to the bait casters but with larger spools and not being able to be cast except for some models built for rock and beach fishing which have the bigger spools and head turning ability but limit out in size pretty quick as the big ones are not able to be cast except for
Bro do yourself a favor get a shimano with the DC chip it’ll change your life I have the curado but the SLX DC is a lot cheaper and almost as good. But I have the settings on my cheap baitcasters dialed in with each lure I use and I almost never backlash.

That’s the shimano scorpion with is a dc reel and has a newer dc breaking system than the curado dc and the Slx dc he’s just bad at fishing
The curado dc and slx dc are I-DC4 breaking system and scorpion is I-DC5 comes in the 1000$ reels that Shimano have
