77 years old and he still can execute his moves so gracefully! Chinese Internal Martial Arts one of the greatest benefits have got to be it's age defying effects and the vitality it grants its practitioners

Thank you for the painstaking work and research of translating and adding footnotes, this is so valuable. I especially appreciate this episode as it touches on the the lineage that I have studied from.

Excellent video series. I particularly appreciate this one because I am certified to teach Baguazhang under Andy Dale, in the lineage of Cheng Tinghua. Andy studied with Zhang Jie and Pang Tse Yao. I learned the Od Eight Changes and practice them regularly. There's a lot of unique "overturning" motions in all the changes, that really engages spiraling mechanics throughout the entire body. It was really powerful to see the quality/flavor/style of movement in these older practitioners that is so similar to what I was taught by Andy. What a unique and "endangered" body of wisdom alive in these arts. Thanks for contributing to their preservation.

The skill seen by the gentleman discussing not letting the stones fall of his arm during Single Palm Change was unreal(sorry I seem to have missed his name, no disrespect meant) I was amazed by his fluidity and control given his age, Truly wonderful martial art in a lot of ways.

@@MuShinMartialCulture just curious, would those of you at the channel be interested in doing a video like this about Magui, since he has his own branch of Bagua and was a student of Yin Fu originally and then later Dong Haichuan?

Good Work thanks for doing this. I bought Liu book in a year 2000. First my first visit to beijing's April 2001. I met one of Liu students at the park. He taught me a little bit at that time very few foreigners in China it just looks completely different than what it looks like in in 2001. I met a lot of masters man even though you live in China longer than me I don't think you have had the experiences I have had seriously. They didn't mention the foreigners name I'm guessing is John bracey ? His ponytail got caught in what was it exactly? I read this story before , but it was a little different.

Shape is the basic. Not the high level of realization. Neither is technical application very useful. Is there true understanding and realization of quan fa? I really doubt it. Just chasing the empty shape. Dong hai chuan didn’t teach cheng talu for the sake of talu, he taught yi. It seems that the problem with internal Art is always this

It’s a cultural thing. CN is not a place where self-realization is encouraged. Rather, ritual repetition of forms is. Those who go beyond and thus stand out are brought back in line.
